- Served four years in the US Navy, two of which were spent handling Navy attack dogs in the Aleutian Islands. The last two landed him in places such as Africa, Australia, the Philippines, and Saudi Arabia.

- Had a brief recurring role as killer Luis Hernandez on the first season of NYPD Blue (1993) with David Caruso. Later played Memmo Ferro, who murdered Caruso's wife, on CSI: Miami (2002). Previous to those encounters, they both appeared in Abel Ferrara's China Girl (1987), which marked as LaSardo's film debut.
- Studied acting at the Stella Adler Conservatory in New York City, under teacher Tara Bolds.
