Steve Lawes is an award-winning cinematographer based in the UK, whose career crosses five continents and spans more than two decades.
Steve is best known for the critically-acclaimed series Sherlock, which garnered him an RTS Craft Nomination and a BAFTA Cymru Award. He also received a Guild of Television Cameramen Award for his work on the three-part murder mystery series Death Comes To Pemberley.
His additional working highlights include the multiple award-winning docudrama The Left Behind for BBC, HBO's action series Strike Back and the fantasy feature Skellig. Jimmy McGovern's Banished (BBC) and the Emmy Award-winning series The Street (BBC) are also among Steve's credits as well as the international productions Peace Breaker for Amazon starring Hong Kong's Aaron Kwok and the remake of the classic Japanese film Edge Of Innocence.
Steve's upcoming projects include Leonardo and The Hot Zone: Anthrax. Shot on location in Rome, Italy, Leonardo is an eight-part series for Sony Pictures that takes a fresh look at the life and legacy of the iconic artist Leonardo da Vinci. The Hot Zone: Anthrax is filmed in Toronto, Canada, and is the second instalment of National Geographic's scientific thriller anthology series starring Daniel Dae Kim and Tony Goldwyn.
