"This ain't gonna wipe your slate clean..." Vertigo Films has revealed the second official trailer for a gritty crime thriller meets action film titled Bad Hombres, from filmmaker John Stalberg Jr (following Muzzle last year). This one already opened in the US earlier this year (here's the first trailer) and is out now, this is another trailer from the UK distributor. Two undocumented immigrants looking for work take a job digging a hole, only to discover their employers are psychopathic criminals. They become embroiled in a blood bath, with one of them revealing a secret past that just might save them. Bad Hombres stars Diego Tinoco and Hemky Madera as Cesar and Alfonso, respectively, along with Luke Hemsworth, Thomas Jane, Nick Cassavetes, Paul Johansson, with Tyrese Gibson playing "The Man With No Name." This looks rather generic, with a batch of criminals crossing each other and getting into even more trouble,...

A scene from Bad Hombres. Credit: Screen Media.
Bad Hombres is a gritty little action drama based in the drug trade and illegal immigration along the US/Mexican border in the dusty southwest. We start with Felix (Diego Tinoco) and his cousin competing for day labor in a Home Depot-type of parking lot. The cousin, who’s been here a while, is showing him how to get by despite his almost complete lack of English. The two get separated, leaving Felix haplessly like a fish out of water. A friendly, chatty Aussie (Liam Hemsworth) approaches and hires him, along with a surly old guy who has a truck, Alfonso (Hemky Madera). The job is doing some digging in the desert, supposedly at his uncle’s ranch.
When they get to the remote location, they’re told to dig a big hole and start shoveling. They soon learn there ain...

Netflix’s newest heist series Kaleidoscope boasts a unique take on the genre – the order you watch the episodes, aside from the finale, doesn’t matter. You can start with almost any episode and therefore have a different viewing experience than someone else who started with a different one. According to Netflix, the series is “loosely inspired by the real-life story where seventy billion dollars in bonds went missing in downtown Manhattan during Hurricane Sandy, Kaleidoscope consists of eight episodes spanning from 24 years before the heist to 6 months after.”
But not only is the series able to draw people in with its intriguing premise and viewing structure, it also has a pretty stacked cast with several familiar faces. Here’s the who’s who of Kaleidoscope and where you’ve seen these actors before.

A new year is nearly upon us. Despite a 2022 chock-full of blockbuster movies and groundbreaking television, it is usually tough to have high expectations for the start of the new year. Historically, January has been the month that studios dump their unwanted projects to the masses to disappointing box office results. But the rise of streaming services has allowed for a healthier, more consistent dose of quality television and cinema throughout the year, from start to finish. And 2023 should be no different, especially judging by the upcoming titles coming to Netflix this January.
Netflix will be following up a jam-packed December with an almost equally-exciting lineup. In January, a slate of fan-favorite films will be making their way onto the streaming platform, while several new original projects look to impress audiences for the first time. If you want to revisit "Top Gun" or watch "G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra" for whatever reason,...

"She basically robs herself." Netflix has revealed the main official trailer for an interactive streaming series arriving in early 2023 called Kaleidoscope. Also known as Jigsaw, this "non-linear" anthology series is similar to Black Mirror's "Bandersnatch" episode. It takes a non-linear approach, building intrigue and suspense uniquely, with Netflix viewers each having a different experience. It's centered around the largest heist ever attempted (in NYC), and the vengeance and betrayals that surround it. Some wil start out with certain episodes ("Yellow" or "Green"), then move deeper into their own personal viewing order until the epic "White: The Heist" finale. Everyone will eventually see all episodes, but the order in which they watch the episodes will affect their viewpoint on the story, the characters, and the questions/answers at the heart of the heist. Netflix has never been shy about putting experimental TV on its platform, as seen with interactive specials like “Bandersnatch.” Now, the streamer is playing with the medium’s episodic format with “Kaleidoscope,” a new anthology series set to premiere New Year’s Day.
“Kaleidoscope” is loosely inspired by a real-life story of 70 billion in bonds gone missing in Manhattan during Hurricane Sandy, focusing on a group of thieves as they undergo a multi-decade-long plan to pull off the perfect heist on a seemingly unbreakable vault. A new Netflix anthology is on the way and it's likely to put a spin on your typical water cooler discussions. "Kaleidoscope" is certainly the kind of show you'll want to unpack with your friends: it's got high stakes, lots of intrigue, a mystery, and action-packed criminal hijinks. There's just one problem. Should you discuss the miniseries with someone before either of you has finished, you'll quickly realize that something is off: neither of you will have seen the same episodes.
"Kaleidoscope" isn't your average Netflix series — it's an immersive experience. Unlike most shows, this series was designed to be watched in any possible order. In fact, Netflix itself will be scrambling the episodes so that each viewer watches the series unfold in a different way.

The compelling crime series takes a non-linear approach, building intrigue and suspense uniquely, with Netflix viewers each having a different experience. Some may start out with certain episodes (like "Yellow" or "Green"), then move deeper into their own personal viewing order with options until the epic "White: The Heist" finale. Everyone will eventually see all episodes, but the order in which they watch the episodes will affect their viewpoint on the story, the characters, and the questions and answers at the heart of the heist.

We’re getting the first behind-the-scenes look at Kaleidoscope (fka Jigsaw), Netflix’s upcoming heist drama anthology series from Eric Garcia and Ridley Scott, starring Giancarlo Esposito, Rufus Sewell, Paz Vega among others. The clip features cast and creatives from the series, which is set to premiere January 1, 2023 on Netflix.
Kaleidoscope is loosely inspired by the real-life story where seventy billion dollars in bonds went missing in downtown Manhattan during Hurricane Sandy. It consists of eight episodes spanning from 24 years before the heist to 6 months after.
Per Netflix, it follows a crew of masterful thieves and their attempt to crack a seemingly unbreakable vault for the biggest payday in history. Guarded by the world’s most powerful corporate security team, and with law enforcement on the case, every episode reveals a piece of an elaborate puzzle of corruption, greed, vengeance, scheming, loyalties and betrayals.

Netflix’s new anthology series “Kaleidoscope” will give viewers their own unique experience watching a team of skillful thieves attempt to pull off a robbery they’ve been planning for over 20 years. In a sneak peek clip, the cast and crew share the intricacies of the series and how it’s making a new spin on the traditional anthology series.
“Every episode had multiple connections to every other episode,” said the show’s creator, showrunner and executive producer Eric Garcia in the clip. Garcia is also one of the “Kaleidoscope” writers.

Future horror anthology producers and filmmakers can learn from the smooth-as-silk collection "Satanic Hispanics." Most importantly? Don't undervalue your wraparound that binds segments together like storytelling glue. Anthologies are, by definition, multiple shorts assembled to feature length via chapters, but what separates a "Deathcember" that's too oddly randomized from something like "Satanic Hispanics" is wraparound consistency. Everyone involved harmoniously feeds off the prompt's cultural emphasis instead of ping-ponging viewers around some production company's amalgamation of dusty shorts with the intent to cash in on anthology redistribution. "Satanic Hispanics" isn't just another assortment of kill sequences with an overall thematic impact — it's a model to follow and a path toward horror anthology success.
What proceeds is an ode to horrific Hispanic heritage from indie horror directors who allow their traditions, nightmares, and ancestors to haunt universal audiences. You've seen their works from "Juan of the Dead" to "Culture Shock," "Big Ass...

Satanic Hispanics opens with a police raid that finds a building containing twenty-seven dead bodies, four of them children. All Hispanic, all shot in the head and none with any identification. There is one survivor, a handcuffed man who tried to hack off his hand in order to escape.
It doesn’t work and we next see him at the police station. He tells his interrogators that he is The Traveler and it’s important he leave right away to attend a wedding in San Antonio. As they question him he starts telling them of the evil he’s seen during his time on Earth.

Ahead of FrightFest’s UK premiere of A Cloud So High at the Glasgow Film Festival, director Christopher Parson talks about his encounter with a peeping tom, casting a serial killer and writing demented female characters…
Congratulations on such an accomplished feature film debut. Is this the film you’ve always wanted to make?
Thanks for the compliment! I always saw ‘A Cloud So High’ as a Drive-In movie, to be honest. It’s more the film I never knew I always wanted to make!
The film takes us on a dark journey into the pathology of a young man (Paul) developing into a serial killer. What gave you the inspiration for the character?
There were three main incidents. One, many years ago, much like Paul Sarling, I was attacked and mugged by three assailants while walking home after a college class here in Los Angeles. Two, while purchasing batteries...

Queen of the South was a creative, intriguing, heart-pounding ride that, oddly enough for a show about the violent world of drug cartels, left fans smiling in the end.
Did our TV Fanatics, Whitney, Jasmine, and Christine, enjoy the series finale? Were they disappointed at the ending? And what are their thoughts on this female-driven narco series as a whole?
Read below as we dive into the end of Queen of the South…
What were your thoughts on the series finale? Did you have a favorite moment?
Whitney: Deep down inside, I am a romantic. So I absolutely loved the ending and seeing James and Teresa and Pote and Kelly Anne together again and enjoying a meal together.
Happy endings are so rare on television, and I love that these four who have been through so much together got to have that moment, even if it took a long time to get there.

Spoiler Alert: This story includes details from the Queen of the South finale, “El Final.”
Teresa Mendoza will always be one step ahead, even in death.
Queen of the South’s series finale, written by showrunners Benjamin Lobato and Dailyn Rodriguez, follows the sequence of events after Teresa’s (Alice Braga) assassination. Newcomer Samara recounts the moment of Teresa’s death to officials and bids farewell to Pote (Hemky Madera), who witnesses the cremation of his friend and decides to travel back to Culiacán to spread her ashes.
Meanwhile, James (Peter Gadiot) texts Devon (Jaime Hector) pictures of Teresa’s body at the morgue, confirming that he’s kept his end of the bargain. Over in New Orleans, Boaz (Joseph T. Campos) has not wasted any time and took control of Teresa’s home, business and bar while growing closer with Devon. Though Teresa may be out of the picture,...

As you may have already heard, Sony decided to take advantage of the groggy list of openers this weekend and send an extended cut of Spider-Man: Far From Home to theaters. Now fans will have to decide whether or not the extra footage is worth the trip to the cinema. And if you’re struggling to make that decision, don’t worry, we’re here to help.
Here’s everything you can expect to see in the Far From Home re-release…
First of all, the extension’s made up of about four minutes of never-before-seen footage, following Peter Parker as he checks off some things on his to-do list before his European travels begin. And the first item on his Spidey list is taking down the Manfedi crime family.
But since Peter’s goal for the trip is to prioritize himself, the Manfedi syndicate can wait until after he’s gotten his passport.

What Teresa feared the most came to pass on Queen of the South Season 4 Episode 10.
I can't imagine what comes next.
Since the moment Brenda was killed, protecting Tony has been one of Teresa's top priorities, which is why I couldn't understand why she kept him in New Orleans.
If her enemies were able to track him down at the boarding school in Texas, wouldn't keeping him with her in New Orleans make him even more of a target?
Queen of the South's Alice Braga Talks Spoilers, Romance, and Bodyguards
But it's difficult to send someone you love away, especially when you know they're hurting.
When Tony began talking about applying to art school, Teresa was thrilled.
Pote: If he doesn’t get into the school with his grades we can always buy a building like all those rich, white parents do.
Teresa: He’ll get in on his own.

Narco shows are filled with blood, guns, violence, and death but Queen of the South Season 4 Episode 9 proved that they can also be suffused with a lot of heart.
And sometimes, those hearts get broken.
With the threat of a witness giving testimony against her and her entire organization, Teresa had some difficult decisions to make.
She could pack up everything she's worked so hard to build in New Orleans and run to Belize with Tony in tow, or she could fight.
It was clear that Detective Green thought she wouldn't hesitate to kill Cheo's family and the way he said it irked me.
I’ll trust that you can keep Judge Lafayette’s honorable name out of your dirty little mouth.

When Queen of the South Season 1 began, Pote Galvez was the hitman sent to kill Teresa Mendoza and her best friend. Now the sicario is Mendoza's right-hand man, valiant protector, and someone she considers family.
What makes Pote different from other assassins in the world of narco TV? Can his newfound romance with Kelly Anne possibly last? And what kind of fun has both Pote and his portrayer found in the kitchen?
Recently, I chatted with actor Hemky Madera about that, another season of Queen of the South, and what else he has on the horizon.
What made you want to play the role of Pote?
I was familiar with the project because of the soap opera, the telenovela, and then I auditioned for it and then read the book.
I really enjoyed that character that chases her and then becomes her protector.
So I thought that was a pretty cool role to jump into.

Spider-Man: Far From Home is now playing in theaters overseas, and while Marvel fans in North America still have a few more days to wait for Peter Parker’s latest solo outing, we can at least offer you a breakdown of all the returning McU characters to expect.
To get the most obvious player out of the way first, the Spider-Man: Homecoming sequel will, of course, see Tom Holland as the wall-crawler himself. The star will be joined Marisa Tomei as May Parker, who’s now fully aware of her nephew’s double life, and as those who’ve seen the Far From Home trailers will know, Peter’s secret identity will also be discovered by his love interest Michelle “Mj” Jones, played once more by Zendaya.
Other returning classmates include Peter’s best friend Ned Leeds (Jacob Batalon), who’s now romantically involved with Betty Brant (Angourie Rice). Moreover,...
