Yes, there have been some commercially successful films, but none of them have managed to make it big like Ved (2022) or Baipan Bhari Deva (2023). The positive thing is that a women-centric film like Nach Ga Ghuma has managed to top the list of the top 10 highest-grossing Marathi films in 2024 at the Indian box office. Content creator and actor Bhuvan Bam said: “Shooting for ‘Taaza Khabar’ Season 2 was like homecoming, it was a great time each day on set. The team is like family and we share a great camaraderie. Shriya, Prathmesh, Deven ji, all of us were super excited and enthusiastic about shooting this season. I remember when we launched Season 1, I never imagined it would become such a big fan favourite, especially my character Vasant.”

He further mentioned that with Season 2, they’re delving deeper into Vasant’s life.

A legal war surrounding the intellectual property rights (IPRs) of the upcoming film ‘Swatantrya Veer Savarkar’ has flared up between the actor-director-producer Randeep Hooda and the co-producers Sandeep Singh and Anand Pandit. Randeep’s legal representatives M/s Halai and Co. sent a legal notice to Sandeep Singh and Anand Pandit stating that Randeep was “approached” to play the lead role in the film when the film’s script wasn’t even in place and Mahesh Manjrekar was said to be directing the film.

Randeep’s legal team has claimed that the actor’s dates of engagement with the project and he was assured that the shoot would start in June 2022 with the filming getting completed in August 2022. Keeping this in mind, Randeep underwent a rigorous physical transformation involving substantial weight loss in a short span.

Actress Rituparna Sengupta has started working on a new film, which she tags as a tribute to the late music director Bappi Lahiri. Two schedules of the film have already been completed with the final leg of shoot set to take place in a week for which Rituparna is in Mumbai currently.

The yet-to-be-titled film is a dark comedy, directed by Rajan Lallan Puri, and also stars Govind Namdev, Rajpal Yadav, Prem Chopra, Anup Jalota and debutant Anjuman.

‘Nima Dengzopa’ actor Akshay Kelkar has emerged as the winner of ‘Bigg Boss Marathi 4’.
