"You left home just as soon as you could." Wolfe Releasing has debuted an official trailer for an indie drama title 1985, the latest film made by Malaysian-American filmmaker Yen Tan. This premiered at the SXSW Film Festival and a number of other film festivals this year, so it definitely has some clout and acclaim. 1985 stars Cory Michael Smith as a closeted young man living in New York City in 1985, who heads home to his Texas hometown for Christmas during the first wave of the AIDS crisis. There he reconnects with his brother and friend, and attempts to have a real conversation with his religious parents. Starring Virginia Madsen & Michael Chiklis as his parents, along with Jamie Chung, Aidan Langford, and Bryan Massey. This was shot in high-contrast black-and-white on 16mm, which connects it even more with the setting and adds another layer of dramatic tension to the storytelling. Check this out.

Jon Keeyes Director Jon Keeyes (American Nightmare, Fall Down Dead) who has shown a clear understanding of what makes a horror film scary and suspenseful will be taking over directing duties for the web series "Throwing Stones". I liked the idea behind the first season of Throwing Stones and thought it featured a dynamic young cast, but I will be honest, I thought it missed the mark in terms of crafting terror and unease. So that's why I am excited to see Keeyes taking over as he has the know how to take what was missing from season 1 and improve upon that. I think Keeyes has the potential to be the next Wes Craven (Scream) if he can score that breakout hit as he has such a command on what makes a scary film scary. Hopefully, he can bring those skill sets to Throwing Stones and show the world what...

This is another film which will present itself in 3D, but thankfully this film was filmed in 3D and is not a conversion (Horror-Movies). The finished trailer below is a great deal longer than the first shown (here) and the beautiful Amber Heard gets several more seconds of screen time, deservedly so. Also, be forewarned that the poster seen left has been released by Shock Till You Drop exclusively and the Styd logo is emblazoned along the bottom. Check out the clip inside.
*Folks might remember that Cage was also a bat out of hell in Ghost Rider and he will revisit this character in 2012 as Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance.

Dallywood, beyond my original conception, is not at all about dallying. After all, buddies Jeff Hoferer (also the creator) and Bryan Massey are far too busy checking their IMDb Star Meters, psyching each other up before auditions (and then consoling each other), or staring at their vision board to be wasting any time.
