Josh Keaton first lent his voice to Peter Parker in The Spectacular Spider-Man animated series and he's since reprised the role in several video games (his animated Spidey also made a surprise appearance in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse).
In recent years, Keaton has taken on the role of Steve Rogers/Captain America in What If...? and X-Men '97. Hudson Thames, meanwhile, plays the titular wall-crawler in Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man.
In today's season finale - you can read our full recap here - May Parker visits someone in prison who we soon learn is Peter's father, Richard Parker (the late Uncle Ben's younger brother).
This is a major departure from the comics where Richard and Mary were killed in a plane crash when Peter was still an infant. Why he's behind bars will likely be addressed in season 2; the question is, does Spidey know that this is what's become of...

Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man's premiere offered few insights into how Peter Parker gained his amazing abilities beyond the obvious. The finale, however, ties everything together with the aptly named "If This Be My Destiny..."
The episode opens with Spidey stopping a car theft as Nico Minoru helpfully buys him some time at school. Things between Peter and Pearl Pangan also develop somewhat when she calls him "Peter" for the first time.
At Oscorp, Norman Osborn introduces Peter and his fellow interns to Project Monolith. It turns out the experiments they were working on helped create a device that opens a door into the cosmos, giving the company access to the sort of instant space travel utilised by Thor and the Chitauri.

So far, Ultimate Spider-Man (2024) has been an amazing and wholesome ride. Sure, there was that one time when the Kingpin brutally beat the friendly neighborhood hero to the point of near death. But that exception aside: It's been mostly smooth sailing for Peter Parker — especially considering how supportive his family has been. His wife, Mary Jane, came up with the "Spider-Man" title. Furthermore, his daughter, May, designed his super suit. It was all going well during the first issues of the series, but readers quickly discovered they were merely witnessing the calm before the storm.
Kraven the Hunter recently kidnapped Peter, and it's been more than one month since anybody has seen the Daily Bugle photographer. Usually, that would also mean Spidey is out of the picture as well. But in a shocking twist of events, Richard Parker — Peter's son — rose up to the occasion and took over the Spider-Man mantle.

Oh what a tangled web we weave when the multiverse becomes part of Spider-Man canon. The Spider-Man film franchise started simply enough, with 2002’s “Spider-Man.” Fast forward 20 years and three different actors have played live-action versions of the Wall Crawler, with the trio joining forces in 2021’s “Spider-Man: No Way Home.”
The most recent Spidey flick wasn’t just a fun family reunion. It also led to Marvel verifying the existence of the multiverse in its live-action productions. As the former Sorcerer Supreme Doctor Strange says in the film, “The multiverse is a concept about which we know frighteningly little.”
While the establishment of the multiverse has a still yet-to-be-determined impact on the Marvel Cinematic Universe, in the present it can make watching Spider-Man movies in order a little complicated.

Warning: Spoilers for Ultimate Spider-Man #12Aunt May is a truly indispensable part of the Parker family in Spider-Man lore, but that idea is being put to the test with a controversial change in the new Ultimate Universe. No matter what trouble Peter goes through, he can almost always rely on his aunt for emotional support. Aunt May is partly responsible for Peter's strong moral core, but everything is different in the Ultimate Universe.
Fans got to see the surprising new family dynamic in Ultimate Spider-Man #12 by Johnathan Hickman and Marco Checchetto. This story takes place in December, and the Parker family has gathered around for Christmas, including Ben Parker, Peter, Mary Jane, Jonah Jameson, Madeline Watson, and Peter's children, May and Richard Parker.
One of the most notable absences is obviously Aunt May, who unfortunately lost her life in a supposed terrorist attack in New York City.

When you think of movies with alternate endings, we'd imagine the likes of Blade Runner and I Am Legend immediately come to mind.
While studios do occasionally test contrasting endings, that's rare, and it obviously helps any movie to have a definitive conclusion set in stone when cameras start rolling. For each of the Marvel and DC Comics adaptations listed here, however, things once looked vastly different to what we eventually saw in theaters.
Whether it's studio interference, last-minute reshoots, or scrapped plans for future stories, each of these blockbusters came close to wrapping up on a-now unrecognisable note.
Would they have been better or worse? We'll leave you to decide, but you can check these out by tapping the "Next"/"View List" buttons below.
8. Suicide Squad - Joker vs. Task Force X
Neither filmmaker David Ayer nor many Dceu fans will stop harping on about the "Ayer Cut" of 2016's Suicide Squad.

The most iconic Spider-Man line has a strange history in the MCU. When comic book fans think about Peter Parker, there is one quote in particular that always comes to mind. With great power, there must also come great responsibility, was a sentiment first shared in a narrative caption in Marvel Comics Amazing Fantasy in 1962. The line got popularized after Uncle Ben said it as a life lesson to Peter, advising his nephew to make sure he was not abusing his power and to use it to help others instead.
Since the line was introduced in the comics, it has been a consistent lesson in the various live-action Spider-Man movies. Uncle Ben says it to Tobey Maguires Peter in Spider-Man, while Richard Parker says it to his son in an extra scene from The Amazing Spider-Man 2. There was much anticipation for how the MCU timeline would interpret the line,...

During their acclaimed run of Ultimate Spider-Man, Jonathan Hickman and Marco Checchetto have given Peter Parker the future he's always dreamt of as he juggles being a web-slinging superhero with his duties as a husband and father.
It's a fresh take on Spidey that's delighted readers and made Ultimate Spider-Man a smash hit, arguably making a case to Marvel Comics that reuniting Peter and Mary Jane on Earth-616 (after their marriage ended in 2007) wouldn't be the worst idea in the world.
This November, we'll be able to celebrate the Parker family with an Ultimate Spider-Man #11 variant cover by superstar artist Terry Dodson. With his secret double life out in the open, Spidey joins his wife and kids for a picturesque Thanksgiving feast.

A new novel has been released by Marvel that introduces a new story for Doctor Doom, two years before the iconic villain is set to make his MCU debut in 2026's Avengers: Doomsday. Victor Von Doom continues to be one of Marvel's most prominent supervillains, as he has been since his Marvel Comics debut in 1962's The Fantastic Four #5. Over the years, Doctor Doom has formed connections with many notable superheroes, and a new Marvel novel continues this, tying him into the Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver's story.
Doctor Doom has shared the page with the Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver several times in Marvel Comics' history, but this new story includes a dramatic change in the trio's relationship. This comes shortly after the reveal that Robert Downey Jr. will appear as Doctor Doom in the MCU, with him set to have a crucial role in Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars...

The ending of Life of Pi leaves viewers questioning the true meaning of the story, as the movie tells two different versions of his adventure at sea. The film stays close to the source material, with Pi's story ending in a Mexican hospital bed, but the details and interpretation are left up to the viewer's preference. The ending challenges viewers to consider the themes of faith, belief, and the power of storytelling, as Pi's goal was to make others believe in something greater than themselves.
Life of Pi explained that Pi ended his story in a Mexican hospital bed, but the 2012 movie's ending was also a little confusing about the truth of what happened to Pi and Richard Parker. Ang Lee's Life of Pi earned critical acclaim along with solid box office numbers. However, for every mention of Life of Pi's 3D or its amazing CGI tiger, there's confusion about the movie's meaning.

Sony has been struggling to find the secret formula to make their Spider-Verse movies satisfy audiences in the same way Marvel Studios has managed for the last decade-plus. Boiled down, it seems to come form a lack of coherent vision and weak scripts.
The critical despair and box office indifference to Madame Web is misplaced because it’s not the worst of the lot, but viewers are clearly tired of Sony misfires, which doesn’t bode well for the forthcoming Kraven.
The incredibly weak script from director Sj Clarkson, Matt Sazama, Burk Sharpless, and Claire Parke mars the potential found deep within the very disappointing Madame Web, out now from Sony Home Entertainment. The basic premise that four women are brought together as part of a woven tapestry of spider-powers is fine, as is importing Ezekiel (Tahar Rahim) from the Spider-Man comics to be the bad guy.
However, the script them all.

Andrew Garfield’s The Amazing Spider-Man series may not have ended in a trilogy, but it surely won a lot of hearts for his portrayal of Peter Parker. There are not a lot of Marvel heroes with a tragic story like the beloved webhead, but he still manages to smile through the clouds of sorrow.
Something that every Spider-Man tale has in common, other than his suffering, is that he is an orphan, having lost both his parents at a young age. Not much is known about them through the films, just that they were scientists and worked for a secret organization. However, a deleted scene from Tasm 2 changes a lot of things.
Andrew Garfield in The Amazing Spider-Man 2
The alternate ending, if kept, would have softened the heartbreaking blow Peter received when Gwen Stacy died and would have given him the much-needed motivation to wear his iconic mask back once again.

Ultimate Spider-Man reimagines Peter Parker's origin story, making his father, Richard Parker, the one who invented the web fluid that powers Spider-Man's web-shooters. In the Ultimate universe, Richard Parker's death motivates Peter to complete his father's unfinished molecular adhesive formula, leading to the creation of his own web fluid. Ultimate Peter Parker is depicted as a young and inexperienced superhero, who is extra reliant on the guidance and mentorship of his father and uncle, highlighting the importance of support in his journey.
Though there are several aspects of Ultimate Marvel's Spidey that are quite faithful to the original story, Ultimate Spider-Man offered a modernized retelling of Peter Parker's origin, changing the young superhero's history in a number of ways. One update changes the genesis of Spider-Man's web fluid – originally Peter's most famous invention – by making it someone else's idea in the first place.

Before the dawn of the Millennium, the prospect of a live-action Spider-Man meant Nicholas Hammond doing things slowly with a lot of string. The short-lived 1970s Spider-Man TV show perfectly illustrated that non-animated Spidey antics weren’t really achievable, although several – from James Cameron to Albert Pyun – tried to get projects spinning. But then came the arrival of CGI, and anything was possible…

The fan-favorite Spider-Man foe, Venom, will be appearing in Marvel's Spider-Man 2, but the Venom symbiote's origin story may have been subtly set up in Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales. Venom's appearance had been more overtly teased in both Marvel's Spider-Man and Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales' post-credit scenes, which showed the terminally ill Harry Osborn in a green liquid-filled tank with the symbiote's tendrils attaching themselves to him.
With the symbiote being used in such a way, many presumed that Insomniac's interpretation would be taking inspiration from the Ultimate Spider-Man comics run. In this 2000s-era reboot of the Spider-Man lore, the Venom symbiote was created by Richard Parker and Eddie Brock Sr. as a suit that could cure illnesses such as cancer, so Norman Osborn choosing to use it similarly in a bid to cure his son was a plot point that immediately drew comparison from fans. Seventeen-year-old Pi Patel (Hiran Abeysekera) sets sail on a Japanese cargo from Pondacherry, India bound for Canada with his family and a menagerie of animals from his family zoo.
The Life of Pi, a play based on Yann Martel‘s award-winning novel now playing on Broadway, is light of plot but heavy on the exploration of the human spirit.
After the cargo ship goes down in rough seas, Pi and a Bengal Tiger, named Richard Parker, are adrift on a raft lost at sea locked in a battle over life itself. What happened next is a bit of the mystery that the play attempts to untangle as Pi is questioned by an emissary for the Canadian embassy and the representative of the Japanese Transportation Department.
Using beautiful abstract stage puppeteers, the animals come to life with a bit of magical realism as Pi offers a fantastical version of events. After his inquisitors doubt the story,...

Life of Pi is a film directed by Ang Lee and starring Suraj Sharma.
Life of Pi is my favorite movie so don´t expect anything except wild acclaim for it.
Story line
After a shipwreck a boy is forced to live with a Bengal tiger in a lifeboat with no other options but to get along with each other.
The Movie
Life of Pi… what a marvelous movie! I have seen it several times and yesterday I couldn´t resist the temptation of watching it again and it is still as great as ever. Visually it is prodigious and what it tells… original, interesting, mystical and profound. It has everything to merit my five stars. One of the best movies I have ever seen.
Let us start with the story. We get to know Pi (with a sense of humor) and his family, who own a zoo. Unfortunately, the...

One deleted scene from Sony's The Amazing Spider-Man 2 would have set Andrew Garfield's Peter Parker on a completely different narrative course. Following Spider-Man and Gwen as they deal with Oscorp and the newly-created Electro, the film mixes effective and genuine emotional beats with confusing and overly-long narrative set-ups that are never followed through on. However, including one deleted scene would help some parts of the movie make more sense.
While the second Garfield Spider-Man movie teased several potential plot lines that were never explored after the franchise was rebooted with Spider-Man: Homecoming, one particular thread that seemed to take up an unnecessary amount of screen time was the death of Peter's mother and father. The first 20 or so of the film covers their attempted escape with proprietary research and eventual death, but this aside lacks the payoff that it seems to set up. With this deleted scene,...

This post contains spoilers for "Life of Pi."
The ending of "Life of Pi" hinges on a single question: which story do you prefer? It's a question posed as much from one character to another as it is from the movie to the audience. Ang Lee's Oscar-winning 2012 adaptation of the Yann Martel novel, "Life of Pi," raises the storytelling stakes about as high as they can go, as the adult Pi Patel (Irrfan Khan), tells a tale of survival at sea that is said to be so powerful it will make the listener/viewer believe in God.
That's what the Writer (Rafe Spall) has heard, anyway. It's a tall order to fill, and Pi responds accordingly, with a tall tale that involves his younger self surviving a wrecked freighter on a lifeboat with a Bengal tiger named Richard Parker and other zoo animals. As the Writer extracts this tale...

It's been over 40 years since Texas housewife Candy Montgomery killed her friend Betty Gore with an axe on June 13, 1980. Elisabeth Moss, who was originally set to play Candy, departed the project due to scheduling conflicts, and the title role will now be played by Jessica Biel, as seen in the series's teaser clips.
In the latest trailer, released on April 13, the series - which will also star Melanie Lynskey, Timothy Simons, Pablo Schreiber, and Raúl Esparza - offers more backstory on Candy before digging into Gore's murder. Overall, "Candy" will take a deeper look into what made this mother of two, with a loving husband and a beautiful suburban home, kill her friend. Find out more about the real killing of Gore and watch all of "Candy"'s trailers ahead.

Stars: Munro Chambers, Christopher Gray, Emily Tyra | Written and Directed by Rob Grant
When Richard’s girlfriend Sasha and best friend Jonah give him a spear gun for his birthday, he wants to try it out straight away. The three of them set out for a day trip on a boat, but suspicion and jealousy soon start to get the upper hand. When the boat’s engine fails with no supplies on board, a nerve-wracking struggle for survival ensues that spares nobody’s secrets – or blood.
Wealthy Richard (Christopher Gray) is prone to fits of violent anger, particularly when he believes his girlfriend Sasha (Emily Tyra) is cheating on him with his best friend Jonah (Munro Chambers) — who’s been having worse luck than even his Biblical namesake. Once they reassure him that his fears are unfounded, Richard invites Sasha and Jonah on an excursion aboard his yacht The Naughty Buoy to make amends.

Writer/director Rob Grant wastes zero time getting us in the right frame of mind with Brett Gelman’s perfectly sardonic voice narrating an auspiciously violent collision of three close friends caught in a lovers’ misunderstanding. Harpoon‘s first scene provides effect—a stranded yacht in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean with “Sos” duct taped to the deck—while the second supplies cause as Jonah (Munro Chambers) gets his face punched in by best friend Richard (Christopher Gray) with the latter’s long-term partner Sasha (Emily Tyra) imploring him to stop. Move those temperamental seeds of mistrust to a boat’s tight quarters and we can guess why the vessel will eventually find itself in distress. The question then becomes which, if any, of those passengers will be alive to accept help.
The misunderstanding: Richard thinks Jonah and Sasha are having an affair. It stems from texts found on...

When Basic Instinct hit big, Hollywood went hunting for more erotic thrillers. Er, it found some. Includes Kevin Spacey with odd hair.
When a movie hits big out of the blue, it’s unwritten Hollywood law that the imitators aren’t too far behind. That’s why, after American Pie brought Porky’s-esque sex-tinged (late) teen comedies back to prominence in 1999, the box office was flooded with similar fare for years after. The Blair Witch Project, meanwhile, hit out of nowhere, and found footage horror is only now dying away. The late Wes Craven, meanwhile, wryly noted just how quickly Hollywood had cashed in on the success of 1996’s Scream, when spoof Scary Movie popped out the year after.

Going back to 1992, though, and it was the turn of the erotic thriller to enjoy its resurgence.
