The John Wick saga isn’t slowing down anytime soon. Word’s out from ComicBook that ‘John Wick 5’ is officially in development, and I’m already itching to see what’s next for this bullet-riddled world. The franchise has kept us hooked with its slick action and brooding hero, but here’s the catch—nobody knows if Keanu Reeves will step back into John Wick’s blood-stained shoes.
The fifth movie’s green light comes after ‘John Wick: Chapter 4’ smashed it at the box office, pulling in over $440 million. That ending, though—Keanu’s character took a nasty fall, and we last saw Winston and the Bowery King at his grave. It felt final, but Hollywood’s never shy about digging up a good story. Still, Keanu, now 60, might be ready to call it quits after four rounds of relentless fights. Nothing’s confirmed, and that’s what’s got me on edge.

"Why didn't you leave?" "I'm working on it." Lionsgate has debuted a 30-sec promo TV spot for Ballerina, the next John Wick movie (sort of) arriving in theaters this summer. This is a brand new "Oscars Special Look spot, shown during the Academy Awards ceremony tonight - also now online to enjoy. Ana de Armas stars as Eve, an assassin trained in the traditions of the Ruska Roma getting revenge hunting the murderers of her family. The same character was played by Unity Phelan in 2019's John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum and this takes place before Chapter 4. The film's main supporting cast includes Ian McShane, Anjelica Huston, Keanu Reeves, Gabriel Byrne, Catalina Sandino Moreno, & Norman Reedus. With an appearance by Lance Reddick shot before he passed away. This footage here really does kick ass - this can still potentially turn out to be a fully entertaining big action movie. I'm hopeful!

John Wick: Chapter 4, the most recent smash-hit installment in Keanu Reeves’ gloriously brutal action franchise, is making a surprise, late-game run at the theatrical box office — in China.
The Lionsgate blockbuster has secured permission to launch in theaters in the country on March 14, two years after its original worldwide release in 2023. Sources close to the film say no cuts or changes were made to the R-rated movie to win approval from Beijing’s highly censorious film regulators.
The release of violent R-rated content from overseas in China is considered rare. None of the previous entries in the John Wick franchise have managed to make their way to Chinese movie screens. Disney and Marvel’s Deadpool & Wolverine opened theatrically in China last year, but only after some cuts were made to the movie’s violence and explicit dialog (the first Deadpool was blocked by censors and the second was cut...

Keanu Reeves Villain Pick (Photo Credit – Instagram)
Keanu Reeves has squared up against some legendary baddies. Rogue AI. Deadly assassins. Samurai warlords. But when asked about his most iconic big-screen foe, he didn’t even blink. “I mean, it’s gotta be Smith, right? Agent Smith. Hugo Weaving.”
No shocker there. Agent Smith would be sipping code-laced martinis in the front row if movie villains had a VIP section. The Matrix franchise’s resident menace didn’t just fight Neo; he haunted him. Cold. Calculated. Rocking those tiny sunglasses like a true cyberpunk tyrant.
Reeves made the revelation during a Q&a with IGN after a John Wick: Chapter 4 screening and the crowd ate it up. Because let’s be real: Agent Smith wasn’t just a villain. He was a virus. A rage-fueled, reality-bending glitch in the system who multiplied like bad WiFi and made Neo’s life an absolute nightmare.

Though the previous Resident Evil movies starring Milla Jovovich certainly found an audience, for many fans of the long-running survival horror video game series, we still haven't had a really great adaptation. That could change with Zach Cregger at the helm.
The Barbarian director's next project as part of his current deal with New Line Cinema is Weapons, which is now in production and is set to hit theaters in early 2026. However, a rumor did the rounds last September that the highly in-demand filmmaker was being courted by Sony Pictures for a new Resident Evil film.
THR has now confirmed that Cregger is indeed set to write and direct a Resident Evil adaptation - but it may not be for Sony!
According to the trade, an intense bidding war is now underway, with "four studios elbowing for the win, among them Warner Bros. and Netflix."

Destiny 2 has had a lot of weapons since its release back in 2017, and while we’ve seen a lot of broken ones over the years, there have also been ones that are quite useless. And the D.A.R.C.I. sniper rifle is perhaps one of the best examples of a weak exotic weapon. But that is changing soon in Episode Heresy.

Bungie is giving this underused weapon a Gjallarhorn-style buff. With its new catalyst perk, “Networked Targeting,” D.A.R.C.I. will grant significant buffs to non-Exotic sniper rifles and improve its own performance. So if you’re a D.A.R.C.I main then this is the update you’ve been waiting for.

Destiny 2 is getting a major update in the form of Episode Heresy, which is coming out on February 4, 2025. The update will bring a metric ton of changes to the game including multiple new weapons. One of the new weapons to be added is the Lotus-Eater, a Void Rocket-Assisted Sidearm.

While players are excited about what the weapon has to offer for its archetype, there’s a bit of a worry. The early details that have been revealed don’t mention if it has a Void subclass synergy perk. Given that every other Rocket Sidearm has elemental-specific perks for better subclass synergy, it’d be very out of place for the Lotus-Eater to not have it.

It has been almost two years since Lance Reddick, our beloved Destiny 2 space daddy, passed away. Reddick was arguably one of the most versatile and skilled actors in Hollywood, and he tragically passed away in March of 2023. Most people know him as Charon in the John Wick franchise or Cedric from The Wire series.

John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum producer Basil Iwanyk shares a new explanation about why Winston shoots John at the end of the movie. Directed by franchise veteran Chad Stahelski, the third installment in the hit franchise sees Keanu Reeves return as Wick to fend off an army of assassins after the High Table places a bounty on his head. The John Wick 3 ending memorably features Wick seemingly emerging victorious before Winston (Ian McShane), in a bid to regain control of his Continental hotel, shoots John off a rooftop.
In a new interview with The Direct, Iwanyk, who produced all four films in the franchise, breaks down Winston's decision during the final moments of John Wick 3. The producer provides a more overarching explanation, which includes the general ethos for all characters in the John Wick assassin universe, but also dives deep into the Winston and John dynamic and...

John Wick's Caine spinoff movie receives a major directing update from Donnie Yen, who is returning to reprise his role as the blind assassin.
In an interview with Collider, Yen revealed that he is not only set to reprise his role, but is also in talks to direct the Caine spinoff himself:
I think both the fans, as well as the studio, want this to happen, and we'll see. I don't know. I can only tell you that much. But yes, we are talking, and we are talking intimately. We'll see what happens. But at the same time, I hold responsibility as well as a pressure that I don't want to ruin the franchise. I try to do my best to bring something fresh to the franchise itself. I don't want to bring down the expectations for the fans. I try to do my best, like always.
More to come.

A feature film based on the acclaimed Sony PlayStation video game “Horizon Zero Dawn” is in “early stages” of development as a joint project between Columbia Pictures and PlayStation Productions.
Asad Qizilbash, the head of PlayStation Productions, announced the news as part of Sony’s presentation Monday night at CES 2025.
If you’re not a gamer but the project still sounds familiar, it’s because “Horizon Zero Dawn” was previously announced — back in 2022 — as a Netflix series developed by “The Umbrella Academy” showrunner Steve Blackman in partnership with Michelle Lovretta (“Killjoys”). At some point since then however, the show was quietly shelved.
No reason for the shift from TV series to feature film was given during Qizilbash’s announcement, but it’s notable that in June of 2024, Rolling Stone published an exposé in which Blackman was accused of bullying and other toxic behavior by staff members. Blackman has denied all accusations.

Norman Reedus has teased ‘Ballerina’ will have a “different fighting style” to ‘The Walking Dead’.The 55-year-old actor - who fronted AMC’s beloved drama series as Daryl Dixon - will be joining the ‘John Wick’ universe with its upcoming spin-off ‘Ballerina’, and has explained the film’s action sequences will differ greatly to those seen in ‘The Walking Dead’.During an interview with Collider, Reedus said: “It’s a different fighting style, totally. “‘The Walking Dead’s very sloppy, this is very choreographed and a lot of people put it together to make it safe and look spectacular. “I’m pretty good with weapons after all this time, but it’s always a math problem, even on the TV show. Everything’s math. The fighting’s math. You show an arrow, bend out of frame, you come up without the arrow digitally, and you show another arrow. There’s a math there.

After the revelation of the Caped Crusader's Dilf like physique in Creature Commandos, I was literally one hundred percent sure Alan Ritchson was going to be cast as Batman. I wrote an article which you can read here in which I definitely wasn’t speculating for fun about who Batman could be cast as, but truly believed I was speaking to you as a messenger from our savior, James Gunn himself. Amazingly, what I reported as definitive fact, was somehow wrong.
It’s now being reported that the deceased actor Brian Dennehy is absolutely going to play the Dark Knight! This will either be accomplished through the wonders of AI or through ominous necromancy. Time can only tell if Gunn will recruit Chat Gpt to bring us a tasteful CGI Brian Dennehy or if he will be able to harness dark forces to bring Mr. Dennehy back from the dead.

Fantasy TV has been having a great decade, with a shocking number of amazing shows coming out in the 2020s, and some of them serving up the perfect villain. Villainy suits the fantasy genre particularly well. From the best historical fantasy TV to the dark fantasy and the satirical, this genre understands that there is something innately cartoonish about an evil demon lord taking over the world, which is often the underlying premise of a fantasy villain. World domination seems to be at the top of many villains' agendas, whether they are a Demon lord or not.
The best fantasy villain of all time, in any format, is probably the eponymous Sauron of The Lord of the Rings, but his influence has echoed down through books and movies since 1954. Some of the most powerful fantasy characters are otherworldly villains with supernatural powers,...

Winston’s confirmed role as a mentor and father figure in the upcoming Ballerina spinoff movie makes a popular John Wick fan theory much less likely to come true. Set to be released on June 6, 2025, the spinoff From the World of John Wick: Ballerina is the first official John Wick movie outside the main series. It will star Ana de Armas as Eve Macarro, a ballerina who’s being trained as an assassin in the ways of the Ruska Roma. It’s being directed by Live Free or Die Hard’s Len Wiseman and written by Rebel Moon’s Shay Hatten.
The Ballerina cast will introduce some new blood to the John Wick universe, like Gabriel Byrne and Norman Reedus. But it’s also bringing back some familiar faces from the previous John Wick movies. Anjelica Huston will have a major role as The Director, Keanu Reeves will have a cameo as Wick himself,...

With From the World of John Wick: Ballerina set to expand the scope of the John Wick universe, Ian McShane teases how Winston has ties to the past of the new assassin, played by Ana De Armas. McShane's Winston Scott is the owner and manager of the New York Continental Hotel, an establishment that offers the underworld sanctuary from any rivals or occupational risks, and a close ally to the franchise's lead protagonist, played by Keanu Reeves. In the upcoming Ballerina, De Armas' Eve Macarro sets out on a quest for revenge as she dives into the criminal underworld.
When speaking to Collider at Ccxp, McShane unveiled how Winston holds several secrets about the mysterious past of De Armas' Eve Macarro that influences their dynamic in the spin-off movie. McShane confirms that the two are already acquainted prior to the events of Ballerina, not only knowing her parents but having...

The first three movies in the John Wick franchise are preparing to head to a new streaming home. After it debuted in 2014, the franchise has exploded into a genuine media giant. Alongside John Wick's various spin-offs, The Continental, Ballerina, and Under the High Table, the movie has already earned three sequels and a fourth that is set to release in the coming years.
It famously stars Keanu Reeves as the reluctant assassin Wick, while he attempts to butcher the High Table. The intense action scenes, compelling characters, and detailed world-building have contributed to its international acclaim, though it has never managed to win any major awards. While Reeves remains the undisputed star, other characters have earned attention through the spin-offs and more are poised to fill in this original world. The first three movies will join Chapter 4 on Hulu on January 1, 2025.
Keanu Reeves' feature film career began in 1986 with the sports movie Youngblood.

People keep asking if Keanu Reeves is back (in John Wick) and, unfortunately, it seems he really does have an answer.
Speaking to CBS News in a recent interview alongside Sonic the Hedgehog 3 director Jeff Fowler, The Matrix star was asked about the state of his vengeance-driven hitman in the neo-noir film franchise.
“You can never say never, but my knees right now are saying, ‘You can’t do another John Wick,'” the actor, who voices Sonic alter-ego and enemy Shadow in the animated threequel, said. “So my heart does [want to], but I don’t know if my knees can do it.”
Fowler jumped in, joking that Reeves will portray the animal cartoon character for the next 20 years instead: “Which is why you can voice Shadow for, like, decades to come. No physical limitations! Just your voice.”

Long before Marvel built their movie empire with the MCU, DC was building several successful film franchises based on their iconic heroes, but they also had plenty of terrible movies that featured just a handful of hidden gems in their dialogue. It's fair to say that the Dcu is coming at a time when the DC Comics movies have not had a lot of luck. For every spectacular hit like The Batman and Joker, there have been movies like The Flash and Joker: Folie à Deux that left audiences frustrated and fed up.
However, the history of DC movies actually goes back decades with early adaptations of Superman and Batman between the 1940s and 1960s. Then DC began to hit its stride with box office hits in the 1980s and 1990s. However, that isn't to say every new movie was a hit. In 2013, there were two high-profile Hollywood movies about terrorists invading the White House, and the brave Secret Service agents who stepped forward to protect a beleaguered President. On June 28, Roland Emmerich's excellent "White House Down" was released in theaters, and it starred Channing Tatum as the beleaguered agent, and Jamie Foxx as the president. The bad guy terrorist was played by Jason Clarke. "White House Down" also starred Maggie Gyllenhaal, Joey King, and Richard Jenkins. It was, for my money, one of the best films of 2013.
A broader audience, however, better remembers Antoine Fuqua's "Olympus Has Fallen," which beat "White House Down" to theaters by about three months. "Olympus Has Fallen" starred Gerard Butler as the beleaguered agent and Aaron Eckhart as the President. The bad guy terrorist was played by Rick Yune. Season two of Percy Jackson and the Olympians is adding to its cast, including two actors set for important guest roles.
Rosemarie DeWitt (The Boys, Mad Men) will guest star as C.C., and Aleks Paunovic (Snowpiercer, Van Helsing) has signed on to play the cyclops Polyphemus. Beatrice Kitsos (iZombie) and Kevin Chacon (Jessica Jones) will have recurring roles as demigods aligned with Luke (Charlie Bushnell).
DeWitt’s C.C. is a stylish and composed New Age guru-type whom Percy (Walker Scobell) and Annabeth (Leah Sava Jeffries) encounter in their quest to find the Golden Fleece. She radiates warmth and empathy, but readers of The Sea of Monsters — the book on which season two is based — know there’s more to her than that.
Polyphemus is an ancient cyclops who was blinded by Odysseus long ago. He now tends animals and jealously guards the Golden Fleece on his private island.

Over ten years after Fringe stopped airing, the classic sci-fi TV show remains a favorite among fans of the speculative fiction genre. In recent years, sci-fi and fantasy TV series have been growing in popularity and carving out a significant niche. Fringe drew inspiration from classic science fiction television while it was airing, and, in turn, has become a jumping-off point for many modern series that deal with time travel, alternate universes, and investigation. The extensive lore and interconnected timelines on Fringe are some of the best parts of the show and similar series touch upon these topics.

‘Ballerina’ director Len Wiseman has insisted Ana De Armas’ Eve Macarro is more than just a “female John Wick”.The 36-year-old actress stars as the budding assassin in the upcoming ‘John Wick’ spin-off movie 'From the World of John Wick: Ballerina', though the filmmaker has now emphasised the character is much more than simply a gender-swapped version of Keanu Reeves’ famed hitman. In a video featurette unveiled at the 2024 Comic Con Experience (Ccxp) in Sao Paulo, Brazil, Wiseman explained: “This is not a female John Wick. Lionsgate has revealed a short teaser for the upcoming John Wick spin-off flick Ballerina, set to release next summer.
Frame it anyway you want, but From The World Of John Wick: Ballerina has a bit of a PR job on its hands. It’s got to convince potential audiences that a visit to the cinema will guarantee them the same level of high-quality action and thrills that they’d get from a mainline John Wick movie, and it’s been bumpy up to this point.
Far be it from me to talk down a movie’s chances before it arrives, but the public perception of reshoots often leads to the assumption that a film’s in trouble. The extensive reshooting of Ballerina means that chatter around the film is already focusing on whether it’s doomed or not.

Lionsgate is bringing light in darkness, unveiling a character poster for Ana de Armas’ Eve Macarro, the titular ballerina of the upcoming John Wick spin-off movie, adding to the already peak anticipation for this expansion. Following their Ccxp presentation Sunday, Lionsgate also released a new extended look featurette examining the film.
As you can see on the poster, Eve is tatted up, with one notable phrase standing out above the rest: Lux in Tenebris, which is Latin for Light in Darkness. That might feel a little on the nose, but it does give us a better glimpse into her psyche – especially when she’s got a gun in her hand. The poster has incredible coloring to it, too, which plays off of the trailer quite nicely. Check it out:

"This is not a female John Wick." So says director Len Wiseman at the start of the freshly dropped Ccxp behind the scenes look at his upcoming actioner Ballerina, the latest off-shoot from the John Wick universe. But while that's certainly true — this movie is set to represent the introduction point for Ana De Armas' Eve Macarro, the Ruska Roma trained dancing assassin who'll be bringing a whole new meaning to the expression 'bullet ballet' in Lionsgate's hotly anticipated John Wick: Chapter 3 — Parabellum and Chapter 4 midquel — it doesn't mean the ever-expanding Jwu's latest lead is any less formidable than Keanu Reeves' Baba Yaga. Quite the opposite in fact. Just check out the featurette below to see what we mean:

"You have no idea what you just walked into..." Lionsgate has launched a new promo trailer for the action spin-off titled Ballerina, the next John Wick movie that's not actually a John Wick movie. This new promo comes direct from Ccxp in São Paulo - featuring behind-the-scenes footage in addition to some awesome movie footage. Ana de Armas stars as Eve, an assassin trained in the traditions of the Ruska Roma getting revenge hunting the murderers of her family. The same character was previously portrayed by Unity Phelan in 2019's John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum and this takes place before Chapter 4. The superb supporting cast includes Ian McShane, Anjelica Huston, Keanu Reeves, Gabriel Byrne, Catalina Sandino Moreno, and Norman Reedus. With an appearance by Lance Reddick shot before he passed away. This is much better than the first trailer a few months ago, presenting a better look at what hopefully going...

Ana De Armas is finally stepping into the John Wick universe with the next installment in the massive action franchise previously led by Keanu Reeves.
Ahead of the spin-off’s June 6, 2025 premiere, Lionsgate unveiled a new featurette for From the World of John Wick: Ballerina during a Comic-Con Brazil panel, which was livestreamed on YouTube on Sunday.
The featurette was introduced by Reeves and John Wick director Chad Stahelski in a pre-recorded message. “Today is a big day,” said the latter. “Keanu and I are thrilled to welcome Ana, Norman [Reedus] and [director Len Wiseman] into the world of John Wick. And we couldn’t be happier that the amazing Ian McShane could be there with you in person.”
Reeves added, “So, remember all the amazing crazy stuff going on in Chapter 3? Well, it turns out there was a lot of stuff you didn’t see.”
