- She was Alfred Hitchcock's closest collaborator. She contributed to most of her husband's films, usually uncredited. She would be shown stories, scripts, storyboards and all elements through the final edit. Other collaborators have stated that the greatest compliment that Hitchcock would give was to say "Alma loved it".
- She was a day younger than her husband Sir Alfred Hitchcock.
- If Hitchcock was interested in a story for a potential film project, he presented it to Alma (his wife) before anyone else. If she didn't think it would make a good movie, he instantly dropped it.
- Like her husband, Alma was never terribly fond of the English colony in Hollywood. Both kept their distance. Nor did they mingle with the established Hollywood community, preferring to remain a self-contained family.
- She was working in the British film industry as a cutter (editor) before her future husband, Alfred Hitchcock, entered the industry.
