The Conga Room is closing its doors.

The Los Angeles institution will bow out of the city’s nightlife scene after 25 years with one more final hurrah on March 27. Billed as a “farewell celebration,” the final night will be steered by investors Jimmy Smits and Paul Rodriguez and feature performances and appearances by Gilberto Santa Rosa (aka “el caballero de la salsa”) among other notable names (yet to be announced) from the worlds of music, politics and culture.

Opened in 1999 on Wilshire Boulevard by entrepreneur Brad Gluckstein, the Conga Room counted Smits, Rodriguez, Jennifer Lopez and Sheila E. as investors. The Conga Room became a go-to nightlife, special events and concert destination that boosted culture, music and entertainment. Actress-comedienne Tiffany Haddish has been apprehended for Driving Under Influence (DUI) after police reportedly found her asleep at the wheel of her running car. The 43-year-old star, who was arrested by cops in January 2022 in Georgia after cops received a call that a driver was dozing off on the road, was collared early on November 24 morning in California, hours after performing at a comedy show on Thanksgiving, and is said to have been handcuffed by officers.

“We responded to a call of a vehicle on the roadway at 5.45 this morning,” a watch commander for the Beverly Hills Police Department told Page Six, reports aceshowbiz.com.

He also noted officers were told the driver was “asleep behind the wheel.”

Shortly after Saget’s death, a slew of his famous friends and co-stars came together at The Comedy Store in West Hollywood to pay tribute to the actor and comic. The night saw performances from people like Jim Carrey, John Stamos, Chris Rock, John Mayer, Jeff Ross and more.

The night has been commemorated in a Netflix special titled “Dirty Daddy: The Bob Saget Tribute.” Ahead of the special’s debut on Friday, the streamer released a trailer, which you can watch above. The video features sneak peeks at some hilarious jokes and heartfelt moments.

HBO Max is reviving another classic series for its latest reboot project. "The Brothers Garcia," the hit Latinx sitcom that aired on Nickelodeon in the early 2000s, is being reimagined as a new series called "The Garcias."

The reboot aims to bolster US Latinx representation to create a "sense of normalcy" and dismantle stereotypes. "The Brothers Garcia" was considered groundbreaking for being the first English-language sitcom to have an all-Latinx cast and creative team. This time, 81 percent of the cast of "The Garcias" is Latinx, while the other 19 percent are Asian and Pacific Islander Americans (Apia).

With less than four weeks until the festival begins, Netflix Is A Joke: The Festival has added new shows to its lineup, including top stand-up performances, Netflix series cast events, as well as a free outdoor fan experience. Paramount Pictures is beginning development on a sequel to eOne’s Clifford the Big Red Dog.

The live-action family movie based on the 1963 Norman Bridwell children’s classic book, opened on Nov. 10 in theaters and dropped on Paramount+ in homes day and date. The movie has grossed $34.6M stateside to date. Clifford in his first weekend on the studio’s Ott service was the most watched original film to date. No release date has been set yet for the sequel, and it’s yet to be determined whether the film gets a hybrid or exclusive theatrical window.

The news about a Clifford sequel comes in the wake of Paramount greenlighting a sequel to Paw Patrol: The Movie, that movie grossing $130.1M worldwide and buzzed to be a profitable title for the Melrose lot, even with a day and date release stategy on Paramount+ in the U.S.

Paul Rodriguez stars in the Clifford: The Big Red Dog movie and the comedian had the chance to work with John Cleese once again in the live-action family film. He tells CineMovie he was a huge fan of Monty Python as a young kid in East Los Angeles and he never imagined he'd share the screen with his idol.

The war between Texas Governor Greg Abbott and the Biden administration is escalating. It's deceptively simple installments like this one that keeps fandom coming back to the series time and again.

When it comes to forward movement with any significant plot points, A Million Little Things Season 3 Episode 12 didn't make as much headway.

But the hour was satisfying with humor, warmth, drama, and an overwhelming sense of sadness by the end. It's life.

The summary for the hour stated that the Howards would end up watching the George Floyd video. It was easy for it to slip the mind as the Howard family carried on like a normal, loving, hilarious family.

Tyrell fits in with them perfectly, and they dominated with the humor and charm throughout this installment.

They felt like they had an entire family sitcom on the side. They could carry a series of their own.

As you looked on with mirth, pleased as punch with the way Gina and Rome...

This year’s 25th anniversary of Robert Rodriguez’s “Desperado” means it’s also the 25th anniversary of Salma Hayek getting her breakthrough Hollywood role. Hayek was already a major star in Mexico in the early 1990s thanks to her role on the hugely popular telenovela “Teresa.” In an interview with Elle this week, the Oscar-nominated actress reflected on making the jump to Hollywood and the casting process that ensued for “Desperado.”

'Selena: The series', a biographical drama about Tejano music legend Selena Quintanilla is coming to Netflix.

The streaming giant unveiled a release date and a trailer for the highly anticipated project on Tuesday, which was forced to stop filming because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The sons of a legendary fighter-turned-gangster team up to create one last shot at fame but encounter more than they bargained for. MoJo Global Arts represents Qubeka.

Nanci Ryder, the longtime Hollywood publicist and PR agency exec whose clients included Robert Downey Jr., Woody Harrelson, Sarah Jessica Parker and Michael J. Fox, died today of Als complications in Los Angeles. She was 67.

Ryder had been diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or Lou Gehrig’s disease, in 2014. She lost her ability to speak, walk and more but was adamant about keeping up the fight against Als however she could — mostly using a tablet to communicate. Many friends and colleagues joined her in the battle against Als.

During her 30-year-plus career, Ryder earned a reputation as one of the industry’s most influential publicists, with an ability to recognize and cultivate emerging talent. She mentored many of the mainstays in talent public relations, some of whom have gone on to establish their own practices.

Ryder was diagnosed with Als in August 2014 and stepped down from Bwr soon after. She went public with her diagnosis in October 2014 and told press — communicating by means of a tablet — that she would dedicate the rest of her life to raising awareness of the disease and finding a cure for it.

Known for her wicked sense of humor and devotion to four-letter words, she continued to tap out jokes long after she lost her voice.

One of the funniest comedians out there has lined up a new gig.

TBS has placed an order for seven episodes of Tournament of Laughs, a virtual comedy competition hosted by Jason Sudeikis.

The series is set to launch Sunday, June 21, on the cabler.

It will feature 32 comics going head to head for bragging rights as a comedy champion.

Every week the comics will create, produce, self-film, and star in their own videos – from stand-up sets to song parodies and everything in-between.

Sudeikis will be acting as the master of ceremonies and providing commentary, with viewers at home taking control of the game.

TBS has ordered seven episodes of Tournament of Laughs, a virtual comedy competition series hosted by Saturday Night Live alum Jason Sudeikis. It’s set for premiere Sunday, June 21.

Tournament of Laughs will feature 32 comedians facing off in a single-elimination bracket-style tournament, with each episode featuring multiple match-ups. Every week the comics will create, produce, self-film, and star in their own videos – from stand-up sets to song parodies and everything in-between.

Sudeikis will be acting as the master of ceremonies and providing color commentary. After the episode has aired, the home audience will decide who moves forward, via phone and online voting, with the winning comics returning for the next round. TBS has tapped Jason Sudeikis to host a new comedy competition show, the network announced Friday.

Titled “Tournament of Laughs,” the seven-episode series will see 32 comedians face off in a single-elimination, bracket-style tournament. Each week, the comics will create and produce their own videos, which will feature “stand-up sets to song parodies and everything in-between” for the audience to vote on. The final episode will feature an expert comedy panel charged with crowning the final winner.

Rachel True Sean Gunn, Hayley McFarland, Zandy Hartig, and Chris Browning have signed on for Agnes, a horror indie from QWGmire. They are joining Molly C. QWGmire is co-producing alongside Divide/Conquer with QWGmire’s Elan Gale, Mathew Welty and Quinn, as well as Divide/Conquer’s Adam Hendricks, Greg Gilreath and Zac Locke all serving as exec producers. Peter Kuplowsky and Jacob Snovel will also produce.

Friends, family, and fellow Hollywood Boulevard costumed characters said goodbye to Christopher Dennis Saturday during his funeral in Los Angeles at Old North Church Forest Lawn.

Rodriguez first met Dennis when the struggling actor was performing at Hollywood’s Christ the King Catholic Church fundraiser organized by Catholic Laughs stand-up comedy night to assist the homeless.

Showtime Documentary Films has announced an upcoming docu-series on the history of The Comedy Store, the Los Angeles landmark where some of the world’s biggest comics got their start.

The four-part series will featuring never-before-seen footage and interviews with veteran comedians including Judd Apatow, David Spade, Martin Lawrence and Bob Saget.

Expected to debut on Showtime in 2020, Comedy Store alum Mike Binder (“Black or White”) will direct. Binder will also executive produce along with Mike Tollin (“The Franchise”), Jon Weinbach, Peter Shore and Paul Young. The Comedy Store’s creative director Adam Eget will produce, and Jonathan Vogler will also produce for Mandalay Sports Media.

Fenn’s Madame Alla Nazimova, a Russian Jewish émigré from Crimea, was a popular Broadway actress due to her fierce feminist image in the pacifist drama War Brides. One of her notable films was the 1921 silent adaptation of Alexandre Dumas’ Camille, which she produced and starred opposite Rudolph Valentino.
