Katee Sackhoff and Emily Swallow, who play Bo-Katan Kryze and the Armorer respectively in The Mandalorian, have addressed questions about season 4 of the Star Wars TV show in reference to Lucasfilm's intense secrecy. Swallow has been a part of The Mandalorian ever since season 1, and with Sackhoff officially debuting as Bo-Katan in season 2, both actors have long since been a part of The Mandalorian's cast. As such, they have become quite familiar with both the secrecy surrounding Star Wars projects and the questions that they're often asked about them - something they have since reflected on.
On Sackhoff's podcast, The Sackhoff Show, Swallow discussing her audition experience for The Mandalorian inspires a conversation about the overall secrecy that has always been attached to The Mandalorian. Sackhoff begins by saying that she often has to tell people, "I can't tell you," but that "oftentimes, I don't know." Sackhoff continues,...

Ming-Na Wen dreamed of being in Star Wars for decades before it finally happened. Now she has portrayed her character, Fennec Shand, across three separate TV shows across the franchise -- and it's likely her time in a galaxy far, far away isn't over just yet.
Landing the role of the bounty hunter in The Mandalorian, while a dream come true for the actor, wasn't as difficult as one might expect. She recently spoke about the experience with Katee Sackhoff on the latter's podcast, revealing the process didn't follow the typical path an actor would normally follow to obtain an on-screen role.
She told Sackhoff: "Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau, they wrote this character ... Deborah Chow said 'You know what? I'm going to mention you to Jon and Dave.' And she did ... they just offered me the role. I didn't have to audition for it."

Battlestar Galactica has earned critical acclaim throughout the years as the series boasts some memorable performances by actors who've starred in a variety of other remarkable projects. It's not an easy task to impress the cult following of a short-lived series like the original Battlestar Galactica, but the re-imagined sci-fi series from the 2000s managed to pull it off. The Syfy original series ran for four seasons and is filled with compelling character relationships and interstellar conflict. Actors like Edward James Olmos, Katee Sackhoff, and Jamie Bamber lead the series and are beloved by audiences for their sci-fi roles.
The series' main cast is made up of re-imagined versions of characters in the original Battlestar Galactica, but the show introduces some new characters as well. "What is going on?! Who's killing who?" An early promo trailer is now out for an action comedy film called Fight or Flight, featuring Josh Hartnett in yet another lead role after Trap last year. Strangely this has no US release date set yet - despite opening in Germany already and other countries soon. The concept involves Hartnett fighting an entire airplane full of assassins. A mercenary takes on the job of tracking down a target on a plane but must protect her when they're surrounded by people trying to kill both of them. Starring Josh Hartnett, Katee Sackhoff, Charithra Chandran, Julian Kostov, Marko Zaror. Josh Hartnett explains this: "I've got a film coming out called Fight or Flight, where I do my own stunts. Is it possible for a franchise to be both underrated and wildly beloved? When it comes to literature for kids and middle grade readers, the answer is a clear "yes." A few massive pop cultural flashpoints aside, modern kid lit seems to be full of super-popular titles that earn millions of young fans but barely register on the radar of adults. Rick Riordan's "Camp Half-Blood Chronicles" appears to be one of these. The books, which center on the sassy son of Poseidon, Percy Jackson, and the friends and rivals he meets at a camp for demigods, have more than 180 million copies in print, according to Disney. However, if you're over the age of 35, you may not have heard of them -- until about a year ago.
In December 2023, Disney+ debuted the first season of "Percy Jackson and the Olympians," a buzzed-about adaptation of Riordan's book "The Lightning Thief" that...

Dave Filoni worked extensively on Star Wars: The Clone Wars, earning his stripes with the animated series before becoming the Chief Creative Officer at Lucasfilm. However, while working on the series, Filoni relatively had less creative control over proceedings, primarily because franchise creator George Lucas was still actively involved with it.

Longmire creator Craig Johnson wants to revive the six-season Western as it prepares to leave Netflix. The story centered on stars Robert Taylor as the unassailable Walt Longmire, the charismatic sheriff of Wyoming's Absaroka County, with a cast that included Katee Sackhoff, Lou Diamond Phillips, and Bailey Chase.
Johnson responded in a Facebook post to the news that Longmire is soon leaving Netflix, with its last day being December 31. The sci-fi franchises of Battlestar Galactica and Star Trek have mirrored one another practically since day one. In fact, the original 1978 Battlestar Galactica came under fire on many occasions for supposedly copying Star Trek, and the reimagined 2004 BSG did, too. In spite of this heavy criticism, at its core, Battlestar Galactica has carved out its own niche, with its gritty but grounded approach honoring but still changing the Star Trek sci-fi formula.
While these two universes have each made their own unique mark on the sci-fi genre, it is undeniable that they do share many parallels. From a heavy focus on ethical concepts to overarching themes of the survival of the human race, Battlestar Galactica and Star Trek have more in common than not. Not the least of their similarities lies in the character archetypes that exist in each universe. These Battlestar Galactica characters all have their counterparts in the...

The Flash is one of the biggest superheroes in DC Comics history, but he has also been one of the biggest superheroes of the past decade. Make no mistake about it, that is down to the success of the TV series, which ran for an incredible nine seasons on The CW. Sure, not all nine of those seasons were among its greatest hits, but its historic run helped make the Scarlet Speedster a household name, with fans instantly falling in love Grant Gustin's performance as the character and sticking with him for the better part of a decade.
But that's not the only mainstream appearance for the character, as Barry Allen's chaotic speedster was also a fixture of the DC Extended Universe movie franchise. This time, he was played by Ezra Miller, who appeared in films such as Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Justice League, and his own solo movie.

The Western genre used to be one of the most popular movie genres in the mid-20th century, but the craze eventually died out. Not nearly as many Western films have been made in the last few decades. However, the genre has seen a resurgence on TV in recent years. Shows like Yellowstone, Justified, and Deadwood have made cowboys and outlaws cool again, and proven that there's an audience for intriguing stories told within the Western genre.
Taylor Sheridan's Yellowstone and the shows connected to it, such as 1883 and 1923, are largely to thank for the Western genre's resurgence on TV. However, not every streaming service has the rights to stream those hit shows. Therefore, streaming services like Netflix have sought out other Western shows to attract fans of the genre. Actor Giancarlo Esposito has played a lot of villains over the years. He was fried chicken and meth kingpin Gus Fring on "Breaking Bad" and its prequel series "Better Call Saul," the malicious magic mirror Sidney Glass in "Once Upon a Time," the voice of the megalomaniacal Lex Luthor on "Harley Quinn," and corrupt Vought head Stan Edgar on "The Boys." Instead of shying away from other antagonistic roles, however, he leaned into them, taking on the part of Moff Gideon, the biggest bad on the "Star Wars" Disney+ series "The Mandalorian."
Esposito is deliciously evil as Gideon, who was one of the warlords responsible for the Great Purge of Mandalore, killing thousands and taking the legendary Darksaber from the Mandalorian people by promising Bo-Katan Kryze (Katee Sackhoff) that he will spare her people if she gives it to him. The last "Star Trek" feature film released in theaters was "Star Trek Beyond" back in 2016. The movie was directed by Justin Lin, the filmmaker behind "Better Luck Tomorrow" and several of the "Fast and Furious" movies, and it was co-written by Simon Pegg, who also played Scotty in the film. "Beyond," the third film in the Kelvin timeline, was ... pretty good. The action was clear and the character work was solid -- the entire cast brought their A-games -- but the film overall was generic action nonsense; it was the fourth "Star Trek" film in a row about a twisted villain on a mission of revenge. Sadly, "Beyond" wasn't as big a hit as Paramount wanted, and it seemed to be the end of the road for "Star Trek" in theaters.
Ever since, though, Paramount has been persistently struggling to make a fourth "Star Trek" movie set in the Kelvin timeline.

Five years ago, many Star Wars fans signed up for Disney+ with something specific in mind. A major selling point was the fact that a new series was coming out that featured someone like fan favorite Boba Fett. Whatever fans thought of the first episode, everything was changed by the sight of wrinkles on a green scalp and outsized ears.
Here are 5 highlights of genius storytelling beats in The Mandalorian.
1. The Mythosaur
In the Season 3 episode "The Mines of Mandalore," Din Djarin and Bo-Katan Kryze make a journey to the underworld of Mandalore. For Din, this is a redemption arc and a ritual returning since he grew up on Mandalore's moon, Concordia. He is journeying to the heart of his society while also witnessing the horrific devastation of Mandalore itself. There is so much that is destroyed and desecrated that compassion passes between the two warriors who have often been at odds with each other.

Ronald D. Moore, a writer for both the Star Trek and Battlestar Galactica franchises, often repeats motifs from his previous work. He is frequently credited as one of the best writers entrusted with Star Trek's formidable universe. A great example of this is "The Defector," which was only Moore's second script for The Next Generation and solidified his place on the writing staff for the show. It is also a decided example of a time when Battlestar Galactica and Star Trek copied each other back and forth over the years.
The Star Trek: The Next Generation episode's framework, which focuses on themes of deception, mistrust, and an overarching tactical play, is repeated in Moore's Battlestar Galactica episode "Hero." The two shows feature very different interspecies politics, especially given Battlestar Galactica's "no aliens" rule. However, the essential premise of a plant being placed among the crew is the same,...

While she is perhaps currently best known for playing Bo-Katan Kryze in The Mandalorian, actor Katee Sackhoff has a long and storied history of iconic roles in her repertoire. Not only did she originate the role of Bo-Katan in Star Wars: The Clone Wars season 4, in a rare example of voice acting carrying over to live-action, but she also made waves in the sci-fi genre as Starbuck in Ron D. Moore's acclaimed Battlestar Galactica remake. Since then, she's traversed genres and mediums, whether it be the world of superheroes (Amunet Black in CW's The Flash and Poison Ivy in various DC animated movies) or crime dramas like Longmire.
More recently, Sackhoff has dipped her toe in another art form entirely: podcasts. With The Sackhoff Show, Katee Sackhoff is sharing her honest and open personality with the world, inviting listeners (or viewers on YouTube) to join her in casual conversations with representatives across the industry.

A new episode of the Awfully Good Horror Movies video series has just been released, and since this is the week of Halloween, we decided to take a look back at one of the least popular entries in the Halloween franchise, 2002’s Halloween: Resurrection (watch it Here), a movie that took the mostly-clean slate it was handed by the previous film, Halloween H20 (which disregarded the events of all but the first two Halloween movies), fumbled it, and let it shatter on the ground. Some people are just defined by the genre they perform in. Scott Bakula and William Shatner fit that description to a "T." They're synonymous with the world of sci-fi, and they're not the only ones. Famous names like Sigourney Weaver, Mark Hamil, and others have the careers they do, in part, due to their appreciation for sci-fi.
Another name that belongs with the Bakula's of the world is that of Katee Sackhoff. Most known recently for Star Wars, where she played Bo-Katan Kryze, she rose to fame with her involvement with the 2004 remake of Battlestar Galactica.
She played a gender-swapped version of Starbuck, now known as Kara Thrace (previously just Starbuck). She added depth, intrigue and uniquness to the role that the original character lacked. Being a byproduct of the 1970s, all the original Starbuck did was smoke, womanize and fight Cylons. Thanks to Sackhoff, the new Starbuck was a much deeper character.

Sci-fi fans will certainly know the name of Katee Sackhoff, a very popular television actress who has appeared in numerous roles in sci-fi series, both in live-action and animated formats.
Most recently, fans could see her as Bo-Katan Kryze in The Mandalorian, a hit series that is a spin-off from the Star Wars franchise.
But, her roles are numerous. Older fans will probably remember her from Battlestar Galactica, where she played Lieutenant Kara “Starbuck” Thrace, and she has also appeared in numerous voice roles in DC’s projects, like Batman: The Long Halloween or Watchmen. She also appeared in The Flash, Futurama, Star Wars: Rebels, and others.
Yet, there is one major franchise Sackhoff still hasn’t appeared in – Star Trek – and in a recent interview, the actress was asked whether she would actually like to join the franchise in some capacity. If you want to know what the actress said about the proposal,...

Katee Sackhoff wants to join Star Trek, and she should to complete her perfect sci-fi hat trick. Sackhoff became a sci-fi icon when she was cast as Kara "Starbuck" Thrace in Sci-Fi Channel's 2003 reboot of Battlestar Galactica, which was created by legendary Star Trek writer Ronald D. Moore. In 2012, Katee jumped the galaxy far, far away when she voiced Bo-Katan Kryze in Star Wars: The Clone Wars before embodying Bo-Katan in live-action in The Mandalorian season 2. Incredibly, Sackhoff has not been in Star Trek... yet.
Since Star Trek's rebirth on Paramount+, the various Star Trek series have scored multiple casting coups, starting with Jason Isaacs and Academy Award-winner Michelle Yeoh headlining Star Trek: Discovery season 1. Michelle Hurd and Allison Pill joined the cast of Star Trek: Picard while Jack Quaid became one of the leads of Star Trek: Lower Decks, and even played Ensign Brad Boimler in live-action on Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.

"I'm terrified it's all connected and the worst is yet to come... And I can't do anything to stop it." Warner Bros has revealed the full trailer for the final half of the animated adaptation of the celebrated Watchmen graphic novel. Watchmen: Chapter 2 is set to debut in November. Back in 2009, Zack Snyder adapted the graphic novel into an epic 3 hour long movie. Which was extended into the "Ultimate Cut", including animated segments of "Tales of the Black Freighter" from the original book. There was also a Motion Comic version in 2009. Then came the "Watchmen" series on HBO in 2019, a re-invention from Damon Lindelof (which was terrific). Now, WB is adapting the entire book again once again. It's a direct from-page-to-screen retelling of this dark & complex story about a group of superheroes with too much power. Voices of Titus Welliver as Rorschach, Rick D. Superman & Lois Star Elizabeth Tulloch Tells Fans Not To Blame DC Studios For The Show's Cancelation
Superman & Lois will end with its current fourth season; while that seems premature for a series revolving around the Man of Steel, it's a minor miracle this latest batch of episodes even happened.
For a time, it seemed the show would end with season 3, minus any proper resolution for its characters. Part of that was down to The CW's shift away from pricey scripted dramas, while it's also been widely theorised that DC Studios might have wanted to pull the plug on Superman & Lois ahead of next year's Superman movie.
Talking to Katee Sackhoff, Lois Lane actor Elizabeth Tulloch addressed the show's shock cancellation and told fans not to blame James Gunn and Peter Safran.
"We went into this thinking we were gonna go seven seasons. That’s what we were told, so it was shocking that everything happened. It was almost like a triple whammy, to be honest,...

Ezra Bridger has been a fan-favorite Star Wars character for many years, particularly among fans of the animated series Star Wars Rebels. The most recent actor to play the character, Eman Esfandi, recently told the story of how he came to bring Ezra into live-action in the Ahsoka series.
During his recent guest appearance on Katee Sackhoff's The Sackhoff Show podcast, Esfandi revealed he didn't even know who Ezra was at first -- until he saw a photo of what an older version of the character might look like online.
Sometimes, we forget that celebrities also often find themselves scrolling mindlessly through social media. That's how the actor first discovered Ezra, or as the internet likes to call him, "Space Aladdin."
"I was online and something came up about someone playing Space Aladdin," he said. "And then there's a picture of him by Pandora Young art, and it's this...

Katee Sackhoff played the voice of Bo-Katan Kryze for over a decade before taking on the role in live-action. During the seven seasons of George Lucas’ animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Sackhoff came to learn about Bo-Katan like an old friend. She thought she knew how her character moved, talked, and held herself until the realization hit her during The Mandalorian.

The first conversation Paul Sun-Hyung Lee had with The Mandalorian showrunners Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni did not divulge much information except for a significant detail about his character's home planet.
Lee, who plays New Republic's Captain Carson Teva in the Mandoverse, recently spoke about his character's backstory to fellow Star Wars actor Katee Sackhoff (Bo-Katan Kryze) on The Sackhoff Show. During the conversation, Lee revisited his initial phone call with Favreau and Filoni. "[They] didn't give me a lot of details," Lee said. Paul Sun-Hyung Lee, the actor who portrays the New Republic's Captain Carson Teva in The Mandalorian and other "Mandoverse" titles, has revealed a surprising yet vitally important connection between his ranger character and Princess Leia Organa herself. Carson Teva was first introduced in The Mandalorian season 2, episode 2 "Chapter 10: The Passenger" as one of the two X-wing pilots who chased and then saved Din Djarin, Grogu, and Frog Lady. Carson has since become one of the few "Mandoverse" characters to appear in all three of the subfranchise's TV shows to date. His importance, however, is only just growing.
Lee spoke more about his character's backstory to fellow The Mandalorian star and Bo-Katan Kryze actress Katee Sackhoff on her podcast The Sackhoff Show, where he revealed the details of his initial phone call with The Mandalorian executive producers Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni. "[Favreau and Filoni] didn't give me a lot of details," Lee told Sackhoff.

Obi-Wan had his hands full with Anakin as his apprentice, and this hilarious Star Wars: The Clone Wars art shows just how chaotic things get when Anakin is paired with the equally stubborn and reckless Ahsoka Tano. Ahsoka was assigned to be Anakins Padawan, and though the two often ruffled each others feathers, it soon becomes obvious that theyre a perfect match. Over the course of the Clone Wars, Anakin and Ahsoka become a dynamic duo, learning from each other both on and off the battlefield.

Casting the right actor in an important role is one of the most important decisions that a movie or TV show can make. How this actor brings the character to life and their chemistry with the other actors is just as important as the story they're telling. Over the years, the film industry has been more open to gender-flipped casting, which sees performers of different genders take on roles initially written for or acted by someone of a separate identity. In some cases, gender-swap recasts improve upon the original movie or TV show, creating exciting opportunities for the story.
Most gender-swapped casting in movies and TV involves women stepping in to play roles traditionally portrayed by men.

New episodes of Yellowstone are right around the corner! Yellowstone season 5 part 2 premieres on Nov. 10, 2024. In fact, the new trailer for the series just dropped, too!

Yellowstone has become one of the biggest shows on television, as it should because the series is a brilliant piece of art, which deserves every praise it gets. Created by Taylor Sheridan, the neo-Western drama series revolves around the Dutton family who own the largest ranch in America. While there is a lot of infighting amongst the family they must all stand together to protect what’s there from several enemies. Yellowstone stars Kevin Costner, Kelly Reilly, Cole Hauser, Luke Grimes, Kelsey Asbille, Wes Bentley, Jefferson White, and Ian Bohen. It’s been a year since Din Djarin and his young bounty hunting apprentice Grogu settled down on Nevarro to enjoy some much needed rest and relaxation. But we know that vacation won’t last forever. The upcoming Star Wars film, The Mandalorian & Grogu, will see the duo back in action, and they’ll be taking on the Empire once again, as revealed in a trailer shown exclusively to fans attending D23 earlier this month. Not only will they face off against the usual stormtroopers but their adventure will even take them to an ice planet populated by At-ATs that may or may not be Hoth!
With the odds once again stacked against Din and Grogu, you’d expect a few other characters from The Mandalorian to pop in and lend our heroes a hand. Could Katee Sackhoff’s Bo-Katan show up, for example? Perhaps even Deepfake Luke Skywalker? Unfortunately,...

There are a lot of questions still surrounding Disney’s upcoming The Mandalorian spinoff movie, The Mandalorian & Grogu, but it seems one question has finally been answered regarding whether a certain character will be appearing in the movie.
During the “From Clone Troopers to Bounty Hunters” panel at August’s Fan Expo Chicago, actor Temuera Morrison seemed to confirm that we won’t be seeing Boba Fett back in action for the film and the reason is quite simple it seems: the failed show seems to have been quite detrimental to character’s future.
“I'm still waiting for a phone call to be quite honest. I think we're just put on the shelf for a little bit. Maybe we come off the shelf later,” Morrison revealed when asked about the film via Screenrant.
