- While wrestling for ECW when ECW was just starting to make a name for itself, Taz showed up on WWF Monday Night Raw as a ticket buying fan and help up posters for ECW. Jim Ross noticed the commotion and stated it was just some wrestlers who wrestled in a bingo hall trying to get their moment of fame at the WWF's expense. As it turned out, Tazz would one day be announcing for the WWE (formerly WWF) as Jim Ross was.
- He gave Kurt Angle his first loss via the "Tazzmission". The referee gave Tazz the victory because of a "knockout"
- Not only did he defeat Shane Douglas for the ECW TV Title in March of 1997, he also defeated Shane for his first ECW World Title about two years later in January of 1999.
- Defeated Mike Awesome for his second ECW World Title in April of 2000, while still under contract with the WWE. It marked the first and only time a WWE wrestler and a WCW wrestler (Awesome had joined the WCW a couple days ago and now had to come back to drop the ECW World Title) wrestled in a ECW ring.
