New Delhi, Aug 12 (Ians) The cult classic ‘Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro’ which was released four decades ago, in 1983, stands as an enduring testament to the power of satire and humour, coupled with social commentary on corruption and media, in the Indian cinema.

With now 20 years of Ddlj magic we wanted to bring this favorite feature back.
One thing you must know about BollySpice is that we all write about what we love, which is Bollywood, and for many of us here on the team, one of the films we love the most is Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge or Ddlj. The film debuted on October 20, 1995 and 20 years later it is still playing! Since many of our writers do love Ddlj so much, we wanted to pay tribute, once again, to this iconic film!
First the story:
Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge is a story about human relationships.
Chaudhry Baldev Singh (Amrish Puri) is a London based immigrant. He, along with his wife Lajwanti (Farida Jalal) and two daughters Simran (Kajol) and Chutki (Pooja Ruparel) have been living in London for the past several years. A true Indian at heart, Chaudhry Baldev Singh is a...

Film: "Club 60"; Cast: Farooque Sheikh, Sarika, Raghubir Yadav, Satish Shah, Tinu Anand, Sharad Saxenaa and Vineet Kumar; Writer-Director: Sanjay Tripathi; Rating: **** - brings feelings back into movies.
When was the last time a movie moved you anywhere except out of the theatre in a hurry to get home? "Club 60" is that modern day rarity that brings the soul back to our cinema.
A story of aging and despair dappled by dashes of warmth and humour, "Club 60" is embellished with endearing imperfections - jaunty editing which only adds to its humane appeal. The film has so much love and warmth to give, it breaks your heart to.

For the director of Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron, one of the most brilliant social satires of Indian cinema, it comes as an embarrassing shock to be accused of muscling into Sujoy Ghosh's territory to direct the sequel to Kahaani 2.
"Why would I want to make Kahaani 2? That's Sujoy Ghosh's domain. I think he did a brilliant job in Kahaani. The way he recreated the bustle and tension of Kolkata was amazing. I don't think any other director could do justice to the Kahaani brand."
Explaining how he became embroiled in this unsavoury controversy, Kundan Shah says, "I went to the producer Jayantilal Gada with a woman-oriented subject. It was his idea to name it Kahaani 2 as he says the rights and title are with him. But I am not comfortable with this at all. Why should I claim any creative right over the Kahaani franchise?...

Yet again Prabhu deva comes up this week with a South movie remake – his debut Telugu movie by the way – with Girish Kumar-Shruti Haasan starrer Ramaiya Vastavaiya. A rehash of Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana, which itself was inspired by Maine Pyaar Kiya, this rich boy-poor girl done to death saga has very little new to offer and comes off as a disappointing affair.
The story is extremely predictable – America returned Ram and gaon ki chori Sona meet at a wedding and after being at loggerheads for some time, fall in love with each other. Of course this does not go down well with lover boy’s parents who want him to get married to another rich girl selected by the mom.
