Adam H Stewart is an award winning animator, director and editor. Born and raised in the Dublin mountains, he is a naturalized United States citizen.
Adam is an award winning animator and director with fifteen years experience in the film and advertising industries. As the owner operator of a Red Scarlet he is constantly shooting and directing. His directorial debut London Baby is due to premiere at the 2017 Galway Film Fleadh
Adam got his first break in the film industry when he worked with Academy Award nominated and BAFTA winning Costume Designer Charles Knode on Braveheart, whilst studying Fashion Design at the National College of Art and Design in Dublin. Following this early experience in feature film, Adam studied with the legendary Production Designer Bob Boyle (North by Northwest) and graduated with a Masters Degree from the American Film Institute (AFI), Hollywood, California.
In 2017 Adam had his animated original story 'Fear' commissioned for the IFB/RTE Frameworks programme. In 2016 Adam worked as a 3D Generalist at UPP in Prague on Allied & Wonderwoman. In 2016 Adam also worked as a Pre-Viz and Layout artist at the award winning animation studio Brown Bag Films, under Academy Award nominated director Nicky Phelan (Granny O'Grimm's Sleeping Beauty), on the new Disney Junior animated series Vampirina, produced by Chris Nee (Doc McStuffins).
As a highly experienced production designer and visual effects artist, Adam has worked for all the major Hollywood Studios, as well as leading brand design agencies Landor and Bluemarlin in London. He was part of the team at Prologue in Los Angeles that created the opening sequence for Brad Bird's (The Incredibles) M:I:4 Ghost Protocol, and animated a key sequence for Ocean's Eleven by Academy Award winner Steven Soderberg.
Adam's design and effects work have won numerous BDA (Broadcast Design Awards). His films have screened at the AFI in Los Angeles and at the British Film Institute IMAX in London, Europe's Largest screen.
