In last week's episode of The Game, the CW sports sitcom about football players and their wives, we were left on a rather dispririting note, with Clay, an outed player, left alone in the lockerroom, abandoned by his teammates — especially the sitcom's lead character, Malik (Hosea Chancez).
Picking up the story this week (on Friday), Mickey (Brian McGovern), the team manager, has had a chance to think things through, and he's decided, "We're all going to stand behind Clay."
"Well, that's better than standing in front of him!" calls out one of the players. Malik even comes right out and refers to Clay as a "fag." Later, one of the footplayer players' wives gets drunk and tells a series of surprisingly ribald gay jokes. "Why are gay men the first ones to check out of a hotel? Because they get their stuff packed at night."

"Ladies and gentlemen ... the tight ends!"
We wrote last week that the CW's football sitcom The Game would be featuring a gay storyline on Friday, and we tuned in to check out just how the show would handle the idea of a closeted gay player being on a pro sports team.
I actually got a kick out of several parts of the episode, mostly the intentionally over-the-top "It's Raining Men" musical number in the locker room. But when the episode ended with most of the issues left unresolved, I was frankly a bit worried ... which was thankfully the show's intention.
Here's what went down...
Lead character and team star Malik (Hosea Chancez) has a nasty ex (Robin Givens, playing herself) who implies in a TV interview that their marriage went sour because Malik is gay (he's not). His teammates give him some good-natured ribbing (that's where the musical number comes...

UPDATED 11:30 a.m. PT Dec. 6
The Wayans brothers -- Keenen Ivory, Marlon and Shawn -- are making their first foray into cable series with "The Life and Times of Marcus 'Felony' Brown," a scripted comedy for VH1.
The cable network has ordered a pilot for the half-hour, single-camera project, an edgy urban comedy VH1 is producing with Wayans Bros. Prods.
Marlon and Shawn Wayans developed "Felony" with Rick Alvarez, their longtime producing partner at Wayans Bros. The three are executive producing the show with Keenen Ivory Wayans and Modus Entertainment's Lisa Suzanne Blum, who manages the brothers.
"Felony" centers on a up-and-coming hard-core East Coast rapper (Darius McCrary) who, after his debut album goes platinum, is forced to relocate to Los Angeles to record his follow-up. Along for the ride are his self-hyping hype man, E-Z (Vince Green); jet-setting manager, Cash (Jon Abrahams); and hard-partying bodyguard, Tiny (Marcello Thedford). Affion Crockett plays Seville, Marcus' personal barber, while Toni Trucks is Tia, Marcus' assistant.
