Was on holiday at Patong Beach in Phuket, Thailand, when it was hit by
the massive tsunami on December 26th, 2004. He was relaxing on the
beach together with his wife, their two daughters, and a family of
friends when they saw the massive wall of water closing in on the
beach. They all ran for their lives and escaped fairly unharmed, except
for the mother of the other family, who was killed by the waves. He
commented to Norwegian newspaper VG: "We saw many people getting caught
by the enormous wave. It was a terrible experience."
