Biography

Broke up for the first time in 1969. However, they reunited during the recording of what was to have been Steve Winwood's first solo album, which was to have been titled "Mad Shadows". However, the title was soon changed to "John Barleycorn Must Die" and that album became the group's masterpiece.

Members have included Steve Winwood, Jim Capaldi, Chris Wood, Dave Mason, Jim Gordon, Ric Grech, Rebop Kwakabooah, David Hood, Roger Hawkins, Barry Beckett, Rosko Gee, Randall Bramblett, Walfredo Reyes Jr., Michael McEvoy.

Reunited as a duo (Steve Winwood and Jim Capaldi) in 1994 and released the album "Far From Home". They were in talks for a reunion in 2004. Sadly, those plans never came to fruition due to Capaldi's death from stomach cancer in 2005.
