President-elect Donald Trump praised Isaac “Ike” Perlmutter, the former chairman of Marvel Entertainment, during an event at his Mar-a-Lago club in Palm Beach, Florida, on Monday night.
Trump shared with his supporters that Perlmutter had a remarkable journey, saying, “The guy went from being completely broke to owning Disney.” He added, “Then he got out of Disney because they went woke. He didn’t want woke Donald Duck, right?”
In 2023, Disney let Perlmutter go after his division was merged with other parts of the company as a cost-cutting measure. Earlier this year, Perlmutter sold all of his Disney stock—about 25.6 million shares—for nearly $3 billion.
He reportedly said that he thinks Disney’s stock will keep dropping, and if it falls to $65-$75 per share, he plans to buy back a lot of his stock.

During the MeToo movement, many high-profile celebrities were accused of s*xual assault in the entertainment industry, and one of them was Harvey Weinstein. But before these allegations began to flood in, actresses who had a bad experience with the film producer were already distancing themselves from him, and one of them was Angelina Jolie.
Angelina Jolie | The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon / YouTube
Jolie is known for her unwavering principles, but she was at a crossroads during her relationship with Brad Pitt. The actress decided not to work alongside Leonardo DiCaprio in Martin Scorsese’s acclaimed movie, The Aviator. Although it would have been a great career move, she did not want to be a part of Harvey Weinstein’s project, and the reason behind the same is deeply personal, something that Pitt should’ve been mindful of.

Whitney Cummings lit up CNN New Year’s Eve Live special with her fiery jokes that included a reference to Anderson Cooper’s former co-host, Kathy Griffin.
Cummings made an appearance on the CNN special and immediately got into taunting Cooper and Andy Cohen.
“Was that thunder?” Cummings asked the co-hosts as she took the stage in Times Square amid a rainy night.
Cummings continued, “Are you sure? I thought it was Kathy Griffin screaming at you from the street? Are you sure? I think she’s cursing.”
Cooper reacted, adding, “Well, no doubt.”
Griffin co-hosted the New Year’s Eve Live special with Cooper from 2007 until 2017, developing the format where the comedian made the news anchor uncomfortable with her risky jokes. Griffin was cut from the CNN special in 2017 after backlash over a publicity photo that depicted her with an effigy severed head of Donald Trump. Cohen, was named...

Updated with statement from Blake Lively’s lawyers: In a move straight out of the Donald Trump playbook, Justin Baldoni and his publicists have sued the New York Times for millions because of the paper’s explosive story on his It Ends With Us co-star Blake Lively’s claims of sexual harassment and a smear campaign from the Jane the Virgin alum and his flacks.
The 87-page libel complaint filed in LA Superior Court just hours before 2024 ends accuses the Gray Lady and its journalists of being in league with Lively with a lengthy December 21 article that “cherry-picked and altered communications stripped of necessary context and deliberately spliced to mislead.” Painting with a broad brush, the four claim filing from Baldoni, Melissa Nathan, Jennifer Abel and others asserts “the Times’ complicity arises from its apparent endorsement of the criminal alteration of these text messages by Lively.”

President Joe Biden’s administration has imposed new sanctions on Russian and Iranian entities, accusing them of attempting to interfere with the 2024 U.S. election, it announced Tuesday. The Treasury Department alleges that the organizations attempted to spread disinformation related to the presidential race.
In a statement, the Treasury Department said that “these actors aimed to stoke socio-political tensions and influence the U.S. electorate during the 2024 U.S. election.”

It’s a good thing that he’s got only a few short weeks left. There’s heavy speculation that suggests President Joe Biden might not be capable of doing his job anymore and there’s a reason for it. Keep reading below for everything you need to know.
President Joe Biden Can’t Do His Job Anymore?
According to a new report, Rep. Byron Donalds says Joe Biden is so senile that he had no idea what he was signing when he granted 37 clemencies to horrible people.
He said, “We are a country without a president right now. Look, I think what’s happening with Joe Biden, nobody thinks he even knows about these clemencies or these pardons.”
“This is the radical left staff that has been running this administration for the last four years. And so I agree with President Trump in what he said about these 37 individuals who’ve been granted clemency.

The past year, 2024, was supposed to be a big audience uplift for major cable news networks: A presidential election, with proven ratings getter Donald Trump as one of the major players.
While Fox News, MSNBC and CNN did see a rise in their ratings, the latter two networks saw a big post-election drop off as politics weary viewers tuned out after Trump’s victory and Vice President Kamala Harris’ loss.
The question for 2025 is whether those regular viewers come back after a bit of a break from burnout, as some executives expect, or if their habits turn to other sources, like ideologically friendly podcasts or digital streaming.
What’s more, the coming year will likely see major changes at MSNBC and CNN, as the former prepares to separate itself from the Comcast mothership, and the latter undergoes an overhaul to integrate CNN.com and digital video.

The 2025 Golden Globes are just around the corner, with Nikki Glaser set to take the reins for the self-proclaimed “party of the year” on Sunday, Jan. 5. That’s when we’ll learn how the stand-up comedian will stack up against her fellow contemporary hosts, from Ricky Gervais to Jo Koy.
From 1944 to 1981, the Golden Globes opted not to have an emcee, with Robert Preston and Linda Gray being the first to tag-team the role in the 39th year. The ceremony returned to host-less the following year before employing a series cohosts – including the likes of William Shatner, Charlton Heston, Joan Collins, Faye Dunaway, and Tim Curry – from 1984 until 1995. After that, the Globe host gig was retired until 2010, when Gervais reinvigorated the format. For the past 15 years, several hosts have come and gone, for better and worse. President-elect Donald Trump may have endorsed House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) on Monday, but some Republicans aren’t ready to fall in line. While Rep. Thomas Massie has come out strongly against Johnson, other House Republicans are undecided, meaning Johnson may have a difficult time keeping his position.
Johnson’s role is up for a vote after the new House is sworn in on Friday. Republicans are expected to hold a slim, 219-215 majority, with one vacancy. Democrats are expected to back House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-n.Y.) in a united front.

President-elect Donald Trump praised Isaac “Ike” Perlmutter, the former chairman of Marvel Entertainment, at an event Monday night at the Mar-a-Lago club in Palm Beach, Fla.
“The guy went from stone-cold broke to owning Disney,” Trump said of Perlmutter in front of his supporters at his private south Florida estate. “Then he got out of Disney because they went woke. He didn’t want woke Donald Duck, right?”
Disney laid Perlmutter off in 2023 after his division — which was separate from Marvel Studios — was absorbed into other units of the company due to cost-cutting measures. Earlier this year, the Marvel ex-chairman sold all of his Disney stock — about 25.6 million shares — for almost $3 billion, according to a report by the Wall Street Journal. At the time, Perlmutter said he expects Disney’s stock to continue to drop — and that if the share price falls to $65-$75 per share, he plans to repurchase...

In legal circles, it wasn’t the monetary figure in Disney’s $15 million deal to resolve defamation claims from President-elect Donald Trump that was surprising, or even the fact that the network settled at all. It was the timing.
Disney opted to dispose of the case before trying its luck on summary judgment, a routine step in civil litigation in which the court evaluates evidence and the merit of claims to decide whether a trial is necessary. ABC News had a strong case. Though he said E. Jean Carroll wasn’t raped within the “narrow technical meaning” of the term, U.S. District Judge Lewis Kaplan made clear that the verdict didn’t mean that the writer “failed to prove that Mr. Trump ‘raped’ her as many people commonly understand the word.” He underscored, “The jury found that Mr. Trump in fact did exactly that.”

Jon Stewart's return to The Daily Show in 2024 was perhaps the biggest story of the year in late-night TV. And the host absolutely matched the hype once he got back behind the desk.
The Daily Show had been without a permanent host since Trevor Noah walked away from the job. A rotating cast of guest hosts and Daily Show correspondents stepped up, keeping things running smoothly.
Then, Jon Stewart announced he'd make his return for the 2024 election. Despite only hosting one night a week, the late-night TV icon made a massive impact on the genre and delivered some of the year's most memorable moments.

Who even knew that he was being blamed for this to begin with? There’s a new report that says Donald Trump is finally off the hook, so to speak. Keep reading below for everying you need to know.
Donald Trump Is Finally Off The Hook
The latest reports say that the election interference case against Trump is officially “over,” and even CNN is admitting it.
Apparently, CNN senior legal analyst Elie Honig told Jim Acosta, “This case was already in deep trouble because of the conduct of the district attorney, Fani Willis. And now, it’s all but over.”
The Georgia Court of Appeals ruled that Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis is disqualified from the case due to her previously undisclosed relationship with special prosecutor Nathan Wade.
The court stated that the lower court’s decision to allow Willis to remain on the case was an “erred” judgment.

As many royal fans on both sides of the aisle already know, they were not invited to spend Christmas with the rest of the royal family at Sandringham this year.
Instead, they’ll be spending the holiday at home in California by themselves, like they apparently do each year. One royal expert by the name of Maureen Callahan recently weighed in on the matter.

An unlikely paradigm is playing out in social media: Unliking. It’s the antithesis of hoping you’ll always be right by my side. Is this progress? This Genesis story may shed some light.
—
In the beginning — like, way back in 2005 — media was massive, and it broadcast itself at us. You might say it had lived in the darkness of our wants for so long that it was…devoid — devoid of the nuance and subtleties that made it personal. Then, came social media, and, suddenly, we had choices.
We built our social networks by following people and things we liked. We felt so safe and so secure that we added accounts willy-nilly. And every day became such a perfect day to spend, alone, with our feeds.
It was a happy time. Ashton Kutcher raced CNN to see who could get to one million followers first. Spoiler: Ashton won; when he did,...

Mark Cuban made waves with his bold statement: he’s ready to team up with Donald Trump. The Shark Tank mogul dropped the “America First” bomb, fueling speculation about a potential partnership. Cuban, usually a fierce critic, shocked everyone by hinting at putting personal politics aside for the greater good of the country.

The Late Show with Stephen Colbert had another year leading the way in late-night TV's coverage of Donald Trump, Kamala Harris, and all the twists and turns of the 2024 presidential election. The show's most-watched clip is a reminder of the optimism that once filled Stephen Colbert's theater.
Stephen Colbert's monologues attract millions of viewers every night. Fans turn to the Late Show host immediately after the day's news, especially eager to hear his take on Donald Trump. So it's no surprise that Colbert's most-watched clip of 2024 is all about Trump.
The moment came on September 11. The Late Show with Stephen Colbert went live after the first and only debate between Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris. To say that Colbert (and his studio audience) was in a good mood would be an understatement.
Colbert started the show by calling out Trump's performance and accusing the former president of lying about nearly everything.

The event marked the beginning of the end for Biden, who gave a hoarse, rambling, and incoherent performance, and withdrew from the race weeks later.

Cameron John Wagenius was detained by federal law enforcement authorities in Waco on December 20, two days after a grand jury in Washington state indicted him on two criminal counts related to the unauthorized collection and attempted distribution of confidential phone records, including those connected to officials close to President-elect Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris.

Jimmy Kimmel Live! wrapped up its year earlier this month, bringing to a close another season of monologues, pranks, celebrity interviews, and, yes, Donald Trump jokes. But in a surprising twist, the late-night TV show's most-watched moment of the year had nothing to do with the president.
Kimmel has brought his late-night show to a new level during the Trump years. His monologues mocking and rebutting Trump's character and policies have been viewed millions of times. The comedian has even been in several public back-and-forths with Trump.
So one would think that the most popular moment from 2024 would have something to do with Trump and the election. However, that's not the case. Kimmel's most watched clip on YouTube is his March interview with Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, and 50 Cent.

In recent weeks, there’s been significant chatter that Donald Trump may have soured on House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.), after the president-elect and his allies thwarted Johnson’s original short-term funding bill to keep the government open.
On Monday, Trump appeared to put that rumor to bed in a lengthy, rambling Truth Social post mostly concerned with other topics. First, Trump touted his “landslide” presidential victory in “All Seven Swing States,” before accusing his opponent Kamala Harris of “illegally” buying endorsements from Beyoncé, Oprah Winfrey, and the Rev. Al Sharpton.

President-elect Donald Trump lost an appeal today of the $5 million verdict that E. Jean Carroll won. A jury found last year that he was liable for sexually abusing Carroll and defaming her when the allegations became public.
Carroll, a former magazine columnist, alleged that Trump raped her in a Bergdorf Goodman department store dressing room in 1996. The trial also involved a 2022 Truth Social post where Trump called the allegations a hoax.

House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-la) received a key endorsement from President-elect Donald Trump in his effort to remain as leader of the lower chamber.
Johnson faces a challenging vote on Friday, with a slim majority in the next Congress and a revolt among some Republicans over his handling of a government funding bill before lawmakers left for holiday break.
“Speaker Mike Johnson is a good, hard working, religious man,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “He will do the right thing, and we will continue to Win. Mike has my Complete & Total endorsement. Maga!!!”
Rep. Thomas Massie (R-ky) has said that he will not vote for Johnson, who cannot afford to lose more than one or two votes in the coming election. Other lawmakers, like Rep. Victoria Spartz (R-In) and Rep. Chip Roy (R-tx), have been non committal.
Republicans will have 220 seats in the next Congress, to 215 for Democrats.

A federal appeals court has affirmed a jury’s $5 million sexual abuse and defamation verdict against Donald Trump, rejecting the president-elect’s effort for a new trial in the case brought by writer E. Jean Carroll.
“On review of abuse of discretion, we conclude that Mr. Trump has not demonstrated that the district court erred in any of the challenged rulings,” the three appellate judges wrote. “Further, he has not carried his burden to show that any claimed error or combination claimed errors affected his substantial rights as required to warrant a new trial.”
A jury in 2023 found that Trump sexually abused Carroll in an incident at the Bergdorf-Goodman department store in 1996. The jury also found that Trump defamed her in statements he made in 2022, and awarded Carroll $5 million in damages.

Little did he realize that the job he was waiting for his entire life would turn out to be the hardest job he would ever experience in his life. Of course, we are talking about King Charles.
The Tragic Life Of King Charles
Let’s just say that the King of England certainly didn’t have the best year on record for 2024 and there were many good reasons for it.
And that’s not just because he was diagnosed with cancer or because there were so many rumors suggesting he was going to abdicate from the throne and give it to his son, Prince William. It’s also because of some more internal struggles, too.
Just this month, there was a report suggesting Prince William is being accused of showing disrespect towards King Charles. That’s because the Prince of Wales and his wife, Kate Middleton, failed to show up...

The death of former U.S. President Jimmy Carter on December 29, 2024 has turned the world's eyes on the statesman's life and deeds. As is the case with people who have reached the upper echelons of power (let alone ones who lived to the highly respectable age of 100), there's a lot to reminisce about. What might escape most people's attention, however, is Carter's short-lived stint as a sitcom actor.
Where Tim Allen's "Home Improvement" stands in comparison to the best sitcoms of all time is a matter of the viewer's opinion. However, for a single episode that first aired on March 9, 1994, very few other series could claim similar prestige. "Home Improvement" season 3, episode 18, which is titled "The Eve of Construction," sees Tim Taylor's (Allen) show-within-a-show "Tool Time" teaming up with the Habitat for Humanity non-profit organization to raise awareness for affordable housing.

President-elect Donald Trump has weighed in on a forthcoming U.S. Supreme Court hearing that could decide the fate of short-form social video service TikTok in the coming weeks.
Last Friday, Trump invoked a legal doctrine known as “amicus curae” to file a so-called “friend of the court” brief, during which he took no position on the case at hand but encouraged the Supreme Court to delay its hearing on whether to approve an injunction that prevents TikTok from being banned in U.S. app stores.
The banishment is rooted in a law passed earlier this summer that forces TikTok’s China-based parent company ByteDance to divest its U.S.-based business to a stateside entity. The law was rolled into a federal appropriations bill that was mainly intended to green-light financial funding...

Kamala Harris Is Leaving Washington, D.C.
Seeing how she didn’t win the presidential election, Kamala feels as though she has no reason to stick around and especially now that Donald Trump is moving back into the White House.
That’s why a lot of people believe that Kamala is going to pack her bags and move back to California. After all, she does deserve a much-needed break and especially after everything she’s done and gone through during these last several years.
Not only that, but it’s also been suggested that Kamala is seriously considering a run for the governor of the state of California.
