Award-winning Australian film composer Nerida Tyson-Chew brings a distinct warmth and creative ingenuity to her work. Known for her collaborative approach and versatility across a range of musical disciplines, her portfolio spans feature films, television dramas, children's productions as well as numerous documentaries and wildlife films.
Among Nerida's diverse credits are the UNICEF Award-winning animated French-Australian feature film 'L'apprenti Père Noël' (Santa's Apprentice), the Fox-Walden Media/ Hallmark Channel film 'Return to Nim's Island', Sony Pictures' 'Anacondas: The Hunt for the Blood Orchid' (US), Nine Network TV series 'Rescue - Special Ops', Warner Bros.' 'Batman: The Animated Series' (US), animation series 'Tracey McBean' (ABC), the documentary series 'Life@' (ABC) and The National Geographic Channel series 'Taboo' (US).
Nerida enjoys being a part of screen music history as one of the first female composers scoring on productions in the US, and joined the elite league of female composers to score a motion picture for a major Hollywood studio when she was hired by Sony Pictures in 2003. Nerida has been recognised with numerous awards and nominations over her 20+ year career. Her Australian Screen Composer Awards include Feature Film Score of the Year, Best Music for a TV Series, Best Music for a Children's Series and Best Music for a Telemovie and Mini-Series. Recently Nerida scored the Canadian/ Australian underwater animated adventure series 'The Deep' based on Tom Taylor's Aurealis Award-winning graphic novel series, for A Stark Production, Technicolor and DHX Media.
Her portfolio spreads across hundreds of hours of music and is in circulation in over 80 countries. 2018 is Nerida's 32nd year as an APRA Composer.
