Remember When Matthew Perry & Matt LeBlanc Pulled a Series-Long Prank on Friends? You Won’t Believe What Happened! (Photo Credit – Facebook)
Long before TikTok pranks and viral challenges, Friends co-stars Matthew Perry and Matt LeBlanc were the undisputed prank kings. As fans worldwide rewatch Friends in memory of Perry, who passed on October 28, 2023, one story keeps popping up—a laugh-out-loud series-long prank Perry and LeBlanc played on their show’s co-creator, David Crane.
Here’s the setup: Crane, one of the masterminds behind the series, had a particular…aversion to toilet humor. Just the idea of it made him squirm. And that’s all Perry and LeBlanc needed to know. They egged him on for ten years, pitching bathroom jokes with deadpan seriousness. And they did it all without Crane catching on—at least, not right away. According to LeBlanc in David Wild’s 2005 book Friends…’ Til the End: The One With All Ten Years,...

Friends was a gift of the 90s era, a sitcom that would go on to define television comedy for decades. And Matthew Perry’s Chandler Bing stood out from the rest of the characters due to his quirky humor.
Friends intro| HBO Max
Chandler was a character who often hid his true feelings of sadness and embarrassment under inappropriate jokes, a trait that would become his signature for the rest of the series. And more often than not, some of his tragedies were inspired by Perry’s life itself.

Following two days of star-studded conversations about climate change, Hillary Clinton closed out the Environmental Media Association Impact Summit on Wednesday with a chat about kids and the planet — and a dig at Donald Trump’s recent guilty verdicts.
Clinton joined showrunner Gloria Calderón Kellett and Good Energy founder Anna Jane Joyner at the Pendry West Hollywood for a panel on how climate change is affecting children’s development. The Clinton Foundation is putting a particular focus on the issue via its Too Small to Fail program, and is pushing for it to be highlighted in Hollywood projects to increase awareness.
“There’s been a lot of really, really great efforts to convince people about climate change and a lot of really dramatic information and even dramatic movies about the consequences that we are facing,” Clinton told the crowd. “And so we know that part of the message of kind...

The entertainment world is still reeling from the sudden loss of Matthew Perry, the affable charmer who rose to fame as Chandler Bing on "Friends." The loss is greater considering that Perry was only 54 years old at the time of his passing, and how much closer fans felt towards him after his incredibly honest memoir, "Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing," came out just last year. Perry's autobiography received most of its press due to Perry revealing, in great detail, his severe problems with alcohol and substance abuse. The book helped make the man behind the curtain, so to speak, just as likable as the onscreen persona that he'll be most remembered for.
It's hard to imagine anyone else playing Chandler Bing at this point, and Perry wound up bringing a lot of his personal life to the part. As the show was ramping up for its first season,...

If you, like me, were someone who watched and loved "Friends" -- even with its many flaws -- you're probably doing a rewatch right now. The world lost Matthew Perry on October 28, 2023, at the age of 54, and it's pretty hard for fans to process. Perry, who played loveable goof Chandler Bing, struggled with addiction to alcohol and drugs during his time on the hit NBC series and afterward, according to his 2022 book, "Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing: A Memoir." Though it will be some time before we know the cause of death for my favorite Friend, viewers are recalling their favorite episodes and Chandler moments, and remembering the show for what it was.
The cast put out a statement recently, calling themselves "family," something we saw on display during the 2021 "Friends" reunion show on HBO. From some of the stories from the set that came out during that event,...

In the wake of Matthew Perry's recent tragic passing at the age of 54, it's worth remembering that Perry was very much the heart of "Friends" throughout all 10 seasons. He had a specific brand of delivery and a unique role in the group. He wasn't as over-the-top as other sitcom staples, but he was the one who made the show what it was, raising it above the other sitcoms of its time. As /Film senior editor Jacob Hall noted, "Ross and Rachel got the headlines. But Chandler was the soul of 'Friends.'"
He didn't just help put the show on the map, but also helped keep it going strong long after most sitcoms would've run out of steam. Chandler's relationship with Courteney Cox's Monica, which came seemingly out of nowhere in the Season 4 finale, quickly escalated to become one of the show's central storylines. Part of why...

Matthew Perry delighted millions upon millions of people playing the sarcastic chatterbox Chandler Bing on all 10 seasons of "Friends." Every group of friends needs a wise-ass, and most wise-asses wish that they had the delivery that Perry did. Of course, very few of them actually do. While the show for so many people was a reliable source of good times, the same was not true for the actor himself.
Before his recent untimely passing, Perry had been very open about his drug and alcohol addiction issues in interviews, the "Friends: The Reunion" special, and in his recent memoir "Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing." Addiction for anyone is terrible thing, but fame and success in the industry has a way of exacerbating those issues to an even greater degree. At the height of the popularity of "Friends," while performing his signature role,...

The tragic death of "Friends" star Matthew Perry has brought to the surface a plethora of fan-favorite on-screen moments, as well as his struggles, successes, and connections to different cast members. In fact, Perry's onscreen mother in "Friends" -- Morgan Fairchild, who played Nora Tyler Bing -- had actually met him many years before they worked together.
In David Wild's "Friends ... 'til the End: The One With All Ten Years," Fairchild recounted how she came to be on the show: "When they first called I thought 'Oh my God, I'm too young to play this guy's mother.' But I had seen the show and it's such a good show, so I thought it would be fun to do."
When the two first encountered each other on set, Perry revealed that he already knew her. "I got on the set and Matthew said, 'You don't remember me but...

The late Sinéad O’Connor was “one of the most incredible women of modern times,” Garbage frontwoman Shirley Manson says in the new episode of Rolling Stone Music Now, praising her as a “monster musician” who was a major influence on her own work — and on the entire Nineties. “Up until that point, aside from Madonna, there were no really outspoken women in music, because you couldn’t afford to be outspoken,” adds Manson. “You would get squashed. And Sinéad kind of heralded in this amazing decade of rebellion.”

Tonight’s MPTF’s telethon on Ktla raised 858,493 for Hollywood’s 101-year-old charitable organization – exceeding the 750,000 that it had targeted. Jeff Bridges, who was one of the many stars who appeared on the show, noted that the MPTF is in “dire straits” due to the extraordinary Covid expenses it’s racked up over the last three years.
MPTF said in October that it’s facing its “imminent demise” unless it raises 10 million-12 million in cash donations by the end of this year in order to meet its bank line compliance and continue ongoing operations.

MPTF president and CEO Bob Beitcher said last week that the current fundraising campaign has only raised about half of that. Tonight’s telethon – called Lights, Camera, Take Action! – gets them nearly 1 million closer to meeting its fundraising needs.

The Motion Picture & Television Fund’s star-packed telethon Lights, Camera, Take Action! airs live Saturday on Ktla beginning at 7 p.m. It hopes to raise at least 750,000 to defray some of the 9 million in direct Covid expenses it’s racked up over the past three years – and to help keep more than 250 residents of the retirement village from having to move out.

Jimmy Kimmel refused his network’s request to lighten up on mocking Donald Trump, and threatened to quit hosting “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”
Kimmel appeared on the latest edition of Sticher’s “Naked Lunch” podcast, hosted by “Everybody Loves Raymond” creator Phil Rosenthal and Rolling Stone writer David Wild, where he revealed that he balked when ABC executives asked him to lighten up on his vicious Trump jokes so as not to offend Republican viewers.
“There was one time, right around the beginning of this whole Trump thing… maybe not quite [eight years ago],” Kimmel said, as reported by Variety. “I said listen, I get it, you’re right. I have lost half of my fanbase, maybe more. Ten years ago, among Republicans I was the most popular talk show. At least according to the research they did.”

“Somebody Feed Phil” has been renewed for Season 6 at Netflix ahead of its fifth season premiere, Variety has learned exclusively.
The five-episode “Somebody Feed Phil” Season 5, which debuts May 25, was filmed back to back with Season 6, which also consists of five episodes.
“We filmed 10 episodes in the sweet spot between Delta and Omicron. Remember that? So from August to January, we pretty much filmed everything,” Rosenthal told Variety. “We only had to postpone one location because of Omicron, but we swapped in another one in the United States for that. And we’ll go back to [that other location eventually].”
For Season 5, episodes will feature Rosenthal heading to Oaxaca, Portland (Maine), Helsinki, Portland (Oregon) and Madrid.
Rosenthal says Netflix is targeting a fall premiere for Season 6, though no official date has been set for those already taped episodes to be released.
