The second of the Philip Yordan and John Carr collaborations released by Tetrovideo recently, Marilyn Alive and Behind Bars was originally filmed in the early 80s. Filmed but unfinished, with some portions of the movie incorporated into the anthology Night Train to Terror, in the segment “The Case of Harry Billings,” which was released in 1985. After that, the producers completed their version of this movie, using almost all the materials filmed and released this version of the film on VHS as Scream Your Head Off. That film made an appearance in 1992’s Dead Girls Don’t Tango as a film showing at the La Paloma cinema which was at the centre of the film’s story.

A middling entry in the genre of blow-it-up big action spectacles, Paul Wendkos’ Spain-filmed western gives us all the excitement promised by the poster, but with some cardboard characters and lumpy storytelling. George Peppard is on the job, however, and once again proves he can carry a big picture, flaws and all.

Stars: Francine York, Sherri Vernon, Tura Satana, Leigh Christian, Michael Ansara, Anthony Eisley, John Carter | Written by Ted V. Mikels, Jack Richesin, Pam Eddy | Directed by Ted V. Mikels
A rousing cocktail of bombs and bikinis, topped with a slick 70s score, The Doll Squad (ask Seduce and Destroy) was produced, directed, written and edited by low-budget exploitation mogul Ted V. Mikels, the man responsible for The Corpse Grinders (1971) and Blood Orgy of the She-Devils (1974).
Pre-dating the likes of Charlies Angels (which was clearly influenced by Mikels’ feature), the film sees a group of female special agents brought together by the CIA for a special mission after a space shuttle launch is sabotaged by the megalomaniacal Eamon O’Reilly. The titular Doll Squad are tasked with bringing down O’Reilly and his private army which has warned that if its demands are not met it will strike again. Closing in...

Elvsi Weinstein (Tom Servo, Dr. Erhardt), Frank Conniff (TV.s Frank), and Mary Jo Pehl (Pearl Forrester). Cinematic Titanic continues the tradition of riffing on .the unfathomable., .the horribly great., and the just plain .cheesy. movies from the past. Cinematic Titanic is coming to St. Louis. The St. Charles Family Arena will be hosting Joel and the gang on Saturday, November 17th) starting at 7:30 (doors open at 6:30). The movie that will be riffed on this year is Ted V. On DVD April 28th, Centerfold Girls is a gritty and grim movie not just about deranged killer stalking vapid, busty nude models, as the title first implies. It’s about all the horrible things that happen to perfectly nice girls whose only fault is talking their clothes off for a men’s magazine. The way people see them and the way they’re degraded by sex-crazed perverts is completely undeserved: most of them are actually pretty nice girls who just needed a few extra bucks. Centerfold Girls focuses on two models that are systematically stalked and killed by a very convincing Andrew Prine as 'Clement Dunne', a man who feels that posing nude is wrong and that these women need to suffer…...

She-beast, the debut feature by writer/director Michael Reeves of The Conqueror Worm/Witchfinder General, stars genre veterans Barbara Steele and Ian Ogilvy as newlyweds who get into a car accident while driving through a town in Transylvania. Their vehicle winds up submerged in a lake, and while the husband emerges as himself, his wife comes out possessed by the vengeful spirit of an 18th-century witch. The movie will be presented in a new 16x9-enhanced widescreen transfer from original vault materials, with audio commentary by Steele, Ogilvy and producer Paul Maslansky. John Peyser’s Centerfold Girls, starring B-movie stalwart Andrew Prine as a madman “punishing” women who have posed for a men’s magazine, also gets a new uncut transfer from the original camera negative,...
