Úna Ní Dhonghaíle ACE, BFE is a multi-award winning editor best known for her work on the Oscar winning film BELFAST, DEATH ON THE NILE, STAN AND OLLIE, MISBEHAVIOUR as well as her work in television with credits such as THE CROWN Series 1 & 2, THREE GIRLS, WALLANDER, and THE MISSING, amongst others.
Having earned the highest honours degree in Film and Media Studies in her native Dublin, Úna specialised in film editing at the National Film and Television School (NFTS). She has now collaborated with acclaimed directors such as Sir Kenneth Branagh, Phillippa Lowthorpe, Tom Shankland, Hettie Macdonald, and Joachim Rønning to name a few.
Úna's exceptional talent has been recognised with 5 BAFTA nominations and 2 awards; 3 RTS nominations and 2 awards; and 7 IFTA nominations and 3 wins, one of which was for Una's editing in INVISIBLE MAN - a documentary she also co-directed on. In 2018, Úna was awarded the BAFTA in Editing for her work on the highly acclaimed BBC drama THREE GIRLS, for which she also won the Technicolor Craft Award from Women in Film UK, the IFTA for Best Editing, the RTS Award for Best Editing of Fiction, the RTS West of England Award for Editing, and the Televisual British Bulldog Award for Editing.
Most recently, Úna edited the much-anticipated film YOUNG WOMAN AND THE SEA (Director Joachim Ronning, Producer Jerry Bruckheimer), which shall be released this summer and PADDINGTON IN PERU (Director Dougal Wilson), an honour of the highest order as she loves the previous two films.
