Canadian film director Justin Dyck, who is best known for helming the critically acclaimed supernatural horror film Anything for Jackson, has set his next horror project. It's a movie called William, and we shared everything we know so far about it below.
William is being described as a sci-fi horror film. It's based on bestselling author Andrew Pyper's (Mason Coile) horror novel of the same name, which was optioned by Aperture Entertainment. The book was released back in September, and it's currently available to purchase on Amazon as a hardcover or eBook at different prices.
Dyck is signed on to direct the William film adaptation. He's currently working on another horror film as well. It's a movie called The Casket Girls starring Gabrielle Union. Pyper will co-write the screenplay for William with Chris Sivertson. In addition, principal photography is to take place in Canada. However, a production start date is unknown at the moment.

Justin G. Dyck has almost 40 directing credits to his name, and most of those credits have been on TV movie romances with titles like Christmas Wedding Planning, Christmas with a View, A Very Country Wedding, and Art of Falling in Love… but recently, Dyck has been shifting gears. In 2020, he brought us the supernatural horror movie Anything for Jackson (pictured above), which was released through the Shudder streaming service. He went on to contribute to episodes of Shudder’s Creepshow series. Last month, we heard he will be directing the horror film The Casket Girls, starring Gabrielle Union. Now, Deadline reports that Dyck will be directing the haunted house movie William for Aperture Entertainment.

Anna and Zoe (Sasha Pieterse) are twin sisters, sharing the classic close bond that almost nobody can mess with. This stays true until Anna meets Nick (Parker Young), with the two quickly falling in love. While Anna is romantic and trusting, Zoe is aloof and suspicious, determined to get to the bottom of who Nick really is.
Listen up, Pretty Little Liars fans — the sequel to a storyline that never actually existed just dropped. It comes as no surprise that The Image of You is based on a thriller novel of the same name, just as the storyline closely resembling the hit TV series makes complete sense. Exclusive: Umbrelic Entertainment co-founders Thomas Zambeck and Brian Katz are bringing back a new Anchor Bay Entertainment with an eye on genre films, undiscovered treasures, cult classics, and remastered catalog releases.
“We had an opportunity to take the name of a beloved genre film brand, one we feel a personal connection to, for our new company,” says Zambeck. “This is a new venture, unaffiliated with any previous incarnations. We aim to honor the history and spirit of the past as we look for interesting films that break the mold, and will be discovered by new generations for years to come.”
In Lionsgate’s acquisition of Starz in December 2016, the studio absorbed the North American branches of Anchor Bay Entertainment. The Anchor Bay Entertainment trademark was up for acquisition so Zambeck and Katz took the opportunity to acquire it. The new Anchor Bay Entertainment doesn’t include the previous label’s library.

Ahead of the UK digital release of his feature film Monstrous (read our review here), writer/director Chris Sivertson talks about the joy of working with Christina Ricci, monstrous inspirations and why horror films are our modern-day fairy tales.
What drew you to take the helm on Monstrous, given that you usually direct films you’ve either written or co-written?
Christina Ricci was already attached to the script when it came to me so that was a huge draw. I’ve loved her as an actress for decades and have always admired the interesting choices she makes in material. Then I got even more excited when I read the script. I just thought it was a beautiful and emotional story and it clicked perfectly with my sensibilities. I saw pretty clearly what I could bring to it as a filmmaker.
You drew a magnificent performance from Christina Ricci. What was it like directing her?...

Set sometime in the 1950s, Monstrous opens as Laura puts her son Cody in the back seat of the car and hits the road for California as “See You Later Alligator” plays on the soundtrack.
She’s leaving Arizona and an abusive ex-husband behind and plans to start over in a safer environment for her and her son. She’s rented a beautiful house by a large pond from Mr. and Mrs. and a job working for Mr. Alonzo.
But this sunny bit of nostalgia is about to turn much darker. Cody is convinced a monster from the lake is stalking them. He also misses home, and despite the reasons for their leaving, his father. Speaking of whom, he’s gotten Laura’s phone number and begins calling.

“Monstrous” is a supernatural thriller that digs much deeper than it first appears: On the surface, Laura (Christina Ricci) is simply a mother looking to restart her life in a new town with her young son Cody. Considering the 1950s setting, a time when it might be unusual for a woman to raise a child alone in a town unfamiliar to her, it’s almost immediately clear that something is up with Laura. Figuring out what that is, however, is what fuels the mystery.
Making matters more curious, Laura and Cody’s new home is remote and near a pond. It’s one of those movie homes that screams “ghosts” and “monsters.” And true to the cliché, the house, while picturesque and perfect in Laura’s eyes, immediately has issues.
Before they can even unpack, Cody doesn’t feel well in the house. When his mom suggests a nap, he...

"I think I have a demon in my house." It seems like she does indeed! Screen Media Films has debuted the first official trailer for a horror thriller titled Monstrous, the latest from filmmaker Chris Sivertson. This is arriving in early May for anyone who wants to watch and find out. The film's story centers on a traumatized woman named Laura fleeing from her abusive ex-husband with her 7-year-old son. In their new, remote sanctuary at a lakeside farmhouse they find they have a bigger, more terrifying monster to deal with. It's not what you think, but it really seems like something supernatural and very scary! But who or what is it after? There's a number of cliche horror shots in this that will definitely make the hair on the back of your neck stand up anyway. Starring Christina Ricci with Santino Barnard, Don Baldaramos, Colleen Camp, Lew Temple, and Carol Anne Watts.
