Jesse Turnbull was born in British Columbia, Canada. He graduated from The Art Institute of Vancouver in 2017 and joined Electronic Arts as an Assistant Technical Artist soon after, where he worked on FIFA Mobile (2016), FIFA 18 (2017), and FIFA 19 (2018).
After a year of employment with EA, Jesse joined DNEG as an Assistant Technical Director. There, he supported multiple movies and TV shows simultaneously, including Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019), Venom: Let There Be Carnage (2021), Ghostbusters: Afterlife (2021), and more. Jesse also contributed to the Academy Award-winning visual effects of First Man (2018) in his first few months at the company. While employed at DNEG, Jesse unofficially took on various Project Manager responsibilities in addition to his ATD work.
Jesse left DNEG in 2021 to accept an offer from Digital Domain for the role of Technical Director, Animation. After six months at Digital Domain, he was promoted to his current role of Pipeline Supervisor. The projects Jesse's worked on while at Digital Domain include Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021) and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022).
In addition to his work at Digital Domain, Jesse occasionally does freelance writing work for The Pokémon Company International. Most of these articles pertain to Pokkén Tournament DX (2017) events at official Play! Pokémon competitions and can be found in the External Sites section of his IMDb page.
