Be it mental, physical, or financial, its impact on the world can still be felt. Considering how much the world was suffering at this time, one would assume that all celebrities would be on the side of the people, trying to aid their fans in a challenging and confusing time.
However, some seemed to have taken this as an open opportunity to exploit their fans. Recently, a report was released relating to Chris Brown and Lil Wayne about how they took money from their fans to fund their extravagant lifestyles.

Persona managed to give me a shock before I even started watching it. Its IMDb entry lists it as running two hours and twenty-one minutes, which seemed a bit excessive for the film’s plot. Thankfully, when I put it on, the actual running time was a more reasonable hour and forty-two minutes, and even that was a bit longer than needed.

Now, Billboard is explaining why Beyonce topped Taylor.

“While Taylor Swift is the century’s biggest pop star by the numbers — from album sales to streams to touring dominance — our editorial staff has chosen Beyoncé as our No. 1 Greatest Pop Star of the Century, based on her full 25 years of influence, evolution and impact,” the outlet’s Andrew Unterberger wrote in the intro.
Unterberger noted that Taylor has not been around for as long as Beyonce and isn’t able to match the breadth of her career yet.

Taylor Swift always lands at No. 1 in most charts around the world, but she’s coming in second place with Billboard.
The chart company placed the “Blank Space” singer at No. 2 in their ranking of the greatest pop stars of the 21st century.
“The fact that controversy will likely tear through the internet over her being just one small space below No. 1 is just another testament to her power,” the write-up reads.
“Regardless, her placement shouldn’t leave Swifties upset for too long — especially considering how much later in the millennium she got her start, both in the genre and music in general.”
“Last year, she was Billboard’s Greatest Pop Star of 2023, making her the only artist to ever win the title in three separate years (following 2015 and 2021), but the run she’s had in the past biennium isn’t just the grandest of her own career,” the outlet notes,...

War Machine himself, Don Cheadle, is set to star in the crime thriller Canyon for Alcon Entertainment, taking on the role of a jazz-playing killer. Deadline reports that veteran music video director Colin Tilley, who made his feature directorial debut with Halsey’s concept horror film If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power, will be taking of the helm of Canyon, working from a screenplay by John Wick and Nobody writer Derek Kolstad.
The story Kolstad has crafted for this one takes place over the course of one scorching night. Canyon — a part-time jazz musician and full-time killer — finds himself the unlikely protector of a young siren pulled into a turf war between feuding crime families. When you mix crime, murder, and jazz, I immediately think of the 1992 John Woo classic Hard Boiled – which would be a great film for the makers of this movie to draw inspiration from.

In 2024, the world of rap has belonged to Kendrick Lamar. It’s not just that he scored two Number One singles, one alongside Future and Metro Boomin with “Like That,” and a second on his own, “Not Like Us,” — and perhaps a third on the way before the year is over. Nor is it that he was named as the halftime show performer at Super Bowl Lix in New Orleans. By sparking his long-running tensions with former collaborator Drake into a super-ugly cataclysm of diss tracks and unsubstantiated allegations, Lamar...

Twenty years ago, John Legend released his debut album Get Lifted. The recording process spanned three years as the then-burgeoning musician shaped and solidified its 14-song track list. It served as a launching pad for Legend’s now two-decade-long career — making it more than deserving of a guest-packed, expanded reissue to mark its milestone anniversary.
“I’m so thrilled to be celebrating 20 years of the album that introduced me to the world,” Legend shared in a statement. “Get Lifted has always meant so much to me and to so many of my fans and supporters.

Kendrick Lamar has surprised fans with an early Christmas present: a new album.
The rap king released Gnx on Friday. It features 12 tracks, mainly produced by frequent collaborator Sounwave and hitmaker Jack Antonoff, while Sza appears on the soulful song “Luther.” The album comes months after his successful chart run with the Drake diss track, “Not Like Us,” which topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart and earned five Grammy nominations, including song and record of the year. He also topped the pop charts with “Like That,” his collaboration with Future and Metro Boomin.
Lamar’s last album was 2022’s Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers, which won multiple Grammys. His 2017 album, Damn, won the Pulitzer Prize for music, making him the first non-classical or jazz artist to win the prestigious honor. He has won 17 Grammys and was nominated for the best original song Oscar in 2019 for “All the Stars” from Black Panther.

Coming fresh off the feud with Drake, it looks like Kendrick Lamar has made himself another enemy – Lil’ Wayne. Lil’ Wayne has been wanting to headline the Super Bowl since time immemorial. Thus, when Kendrick Lamar was chosen to headline the 2025 Super Bowl halftime show, Lil Wayne was obviously very unhappy with it all.

While the reception to this news was mostly positive, some expressed their disappointment with the choice, claiming that Lil’ Wayne would have been better for the gig. However, after seeing the rapper’s performance at the Lil’ Weezyana Fest, people might be taking their words back.

When Grammy-winning rapper Young Thug stepped up to a courtroom podium Thursday to give a non-negotiated plea in his gang and racketeering conspiracy case in Atlanta, it was a gamble that paid off.
Without any safety net in the form of a signed deal with prosecutors, the artist born Jeffery Williams pleaded “no contest” to his two top charges alleging he was the fearsome kingpin of a criminal street gang called Young Slime Life. He then pleaded guilty to all six of his remaining charges, including one count admitting participation in a street gang.

Tyler, the Creator’s life is a movie. Or, at least, that’s the impression he’s given us over the course of nearly 15 years. His debut mixtape, 2009’s Bastard, introduced us to its cast of characters — from Tyler’s pitched-down voice, serving as his therapist, Dr. Tc, to Wolf Haley, or Ace. From the start, his origin story has followed the hallmarks of the so-called trauma plot, where a central emotional fissure is essential to our main character’s struggles. Bastard’s focus, Tyler’s turbulent home life (most...

Sean P Diddy Combs is now behind bars, miserable as ever as he awaits the start of his trial brought against him by the federal authorities. In jail since September, he has been accused of s*x trafficking and racketeering as well as a couple of other similar crimes by more than 100 people.

Given how hard it must be for somebody of his stature to adjust to a ‘jail’ lifestyle, Diddy is reportedly willing to pay a hefty sum to get bail. But as fate would have it, his two bail appeals have already been denied, while the third one is being considered.

Rapper and New Orleans native Lil Wayne says he was broken after not being hired to headline this year’s Super Bowl halftime show in his hometown.
In an Instagram video posted today, Wayne says about last weekend’s announcement that Kendrick Lamar got the February 9 gig, “It broke me, and I’m just trying to put myself back together.”
Wayne has made no secret of his Super Bowl desires over the years, and apparently thought the New Orleans angle might finally do the trick. Despite considerable social media lobbying by fans, the choice of Lamar was made by Jay-Z, whose Roc Nation company is the halftime producer, the NFL and the city of New Orleans.
“That hurt, it hurt a whole lot,” Wayne says in the video (watch it below). “I blame myself for not being mentally prepared for a letdown, for automatically mentally putting myself in that position.
