One of the most anticipated and hottest films of 2024 is finally here. We are talking about Zendaya‘s Challengers which was memed to death for a threesome scene that was shown in the trailer but if you have seen the film then you know that the brilliance of the film is much more than that one scene. Directed by Call Me By Your Name‘s Luca Guadagnino from a screenplay by Justin Kuritzkes, the sports romantic drama follows the story of a talented tennis player Tashi, and her twisted relationship with two tennis players, one of whom is her husband now. Challengers stars Zendaya, Mike Faist, and Josh O’Connor in the lead role with Jordan Thompson, Faith Fay, Hailey Gates, and Tierre Diaz starring in supporting roles. Damien Chazelle’s Whiplash garnered immense acclaim at Sundance and only improved its stellar rep after being included in the Cannes Directors’ Fortnight. By all accounts, it’s one of the very best musical dramas in recent memory, thanks to its tight direction, thrilling story, dramatic tone and wholly compelling performances from Miles Teller and J.K. Simmons. And with its participation in the Toronto International Film Festival now set, something tells me that we’re going to be talking about Whiplash all the way up until its theatrical release in October.

An extremely tense and compelling new trailer for the movie is making the rounds online, keeping the focus squarely on Simmons’ vicious and ruthless band conductor and Teller’s struggling musical prodigy. Hunter G. Williams' Cornered has finalized a cast line-up and other participants include Heather McComb (2012: Supernova), Scott Michael Campbell (Stay Cool), and Anya Benton (6 Guns). Principal photography will be ending in the first week of June and now several exclusive movie stills from the production can be seen here which include many of the actors mentioned above.

"The Game: Janette vs. The Stranger - Location - Janettes house. All exits are rigged with explosives, there is only one safe way out. The Stranger will give clues to the correct exit as the fight goes on. The power to the house has been cut. He has given her a gun with two rounds in it, a low powered flashlight, and a knife. The entire house will explode in 45 minutes. The stranger can only try to kill her in the last ten minutes, before that he may only defend himself.

There's another casualty on network TV. CBS' military drama, The Unit, has been cancelled after four seasons on the air.

The Unit revolves around an elite military unit and their civilian loved ones. The series features the talents of Dennis Haysbert, Regina Taylor, Audrey Marie Anderson, Robert Patrick, Max Martini, Abby Brammell, Michael Irby, Scott Foley, Demore Barnes, Alyssa Shafer, Danielle Hanratty, Kavita Patil, and Rebecca Pidgeon.

Created by acclaimed director and writer David Mamet, the series debuted in mid-season 2006. An average audience of 15.5 million viewers ensured a second season for the drama but year two didn't go as well, attracting 11.1 million viewers. The show has continued to decline in the ensuing years and season four has averaged an audience of 9.15 million. Though the overall viewership isn't too low, the series does skew older. The average age of The Unit's viewership is about 55.
