L.A. magazine called Ben "a mixture of Toshiro Mifune and Seymour Cassell" in their review of "Lady Chatterly's Lover" at the Santa Monica theater in 2006.

The character of Quinn Duchamp in the novel "That Must Be Yoshino" is based on Ben.

As far as being compared to Mifune, you can't take those kinds of things too seriously.

The refuge I have found, as many before me have as well -- is bowling.

Mostly I watch Bruce Lee and Charlie Chaplin. Every once in a while I'll throw in some Rex Harrison, just to make sure I'm still awake.
