Zachary Levi isn’t giving up on the movie followup to his NBC series Chuck, and he says creators Josh Schwartz and Chris Fedak are on board.

Levi starred in the spy dramedy from 2007 to 2012 as Chuck Bartowski, an average guy who was dragged into the world of the the CIA and Nsa to take on dangerous criminals and other threats. He’s been campaigning for an expansion of the Chuck universe since the show ended, but he recently said on SiriusXM’s The Jess Cagle Show that it might actually be coming to fruition.

“I’ve been trying to make a Chuck movie since before we even finished the show. I saw the writing on the wall, I saw a lot of the streaming stuff starting to pop up. I saw a lot of like, well, people are doing, you know, like, you know, Zach Braff, I think was crowdfunding.

It’s not just your old high school and college buddies that are using stay-at-home quarantines during the coronavirus pandemic as an excuse to reconnect with you over Zoom. "The Crazy Ones" just added a spy to its cast.

"Chuck" alum Joshua Gomez has joined the CBS sitcom for a guest-starring role, THR reports.

Gomez will show up on the Robin Williams/Sarah Michelle Gellar comedy in episode 16. He will play George, a copywriter at Lewis, Roberts + Roberts who gets the chance to work with Andrew (Hamish Linklater).

Gomez, best known for playing sidekick Morgan on NBC's campy spy series "Chuck," also recently guest-starred on ABC's "Castle."

"The Crazy Ones" airs Thursdays at 9:30 p.m. Et on CBS.

Castle’s upcoming sixth season is sure to be full of surprises, from new guest stars Warren Christie and Joshua Gomez to a potential time-travel episode. Oddly, he's claiming to be a time traveler in that episode.

According to EW.com, Gomez will play a murder suspect who claims to have traveled into the past in order to stop some terrible event from occurring. The police, however, think that he is just a murderer.

Is the man crazy? Or did -- as Castle (Nathan Fillion) will undoubtedly think -- actually travel through time?

This isn't the first time that an actor from "Chuck" has shown up on "Castle." Adam Baldwin, who played John Casey on "Chuck," reunited with his "Firefly" co-star Fillion on a 2012 episode of the police procedural. Bonita Friedericy, General Beckman on the spy comedy, also guest-starred on "Castle," playing a nun.

The fifth season of NBC’s comedy-adventure TV show Chuck is, very sadly, the final season.

The nerd-herder-turned-spy, played with such boyish charm by Zachary Levi (Tangled), went out on his own in season 5 — no intersect and no CIA backup. Of course, bad guys are still out to get him. But John Casey (Adam Baldwin, Serenity), Sarah Walker (Yvonne Strahovski, Killer Elite) and Morgan Grimes (Joshua Gomez, TV’s Without a Trace) are still on Chuck’s team.

The Chuck: The Complete Fifth Season DVD and Blu-ray include 13 episodes, in which they take on a missing persons case, try to stop an assassin at a Buy More convention, infiltrate a cult and, of course, say goodbye.

If the series finale of Chuck wasn’t a proper farewell, I do not know what is. These final two hours of Chuck were the most beautiful love letters to the fans, cast, crew, and everyone involved in supporting Chuck over these five incredible seasons. The comedy, the action, the romance, the geek references… it all came to an end last night in the most perfect way. Josh Schwartz and Chris Fedak did not disappoint. Everyone poured their heart and soul into the finale and it showed. What a beautiful ending.

I'll go on record right away as saying that I was very pleased with the "Chuck" finale, and I think the last 30 minutes of the final episode rank up there with the absolute best the show has ever done. It got dusty in my house many times during those last two hours, and as a sustained, well-earned sentimental farewell, the finale was everything I could have hoped for.

I needed to be convinced, however. When last week's episode ended with Sarah's memories gone, I was alarmed (even though I thought "Chuck Versus the Bullet Train" was a good...

Chuck star Yvonne Strahovski is many things. Beautiful. Sexy. Quite convincing as a butt-kicking secret agent.

But she is not an easy cry.

Until, that is, she began nearing the very end of her days as Sarah Walker. “[Yvonne] is always a little bit tough, and she kept her cool…,” costar Joshua Gomez shared with reporters during a finale-time visit to the Chuck set. “And then all of the sudden, she was like, ‘Gomez, I can’t stop!’”

“I cried this whole [final] month,” Strahovski herself admitted. “I’ve just been crying, every single day. I [even] cried when i did my last fight scene ever.

Just like in the children’s tale of the “little engine that could,” Chuck was a television show that kept on chugging away against all odds and carved out a place in television history by running five seasons on the sheer will-power of its fans. Millions of Subway sandwiches later, the fans are still passionately devoted to their show. Having coined the phrases: Nerd Herd, Buy More and Captain Awesome, as well as creating a whole new dialect comprised of “the Intersect”, “flashes” and “Jeffster” and redefining what it means when a TV show is “on the bubble,” Chuck is now legendary. It not only created a universally-accepted and widely used lexicon, Chuck also introduced characters which fans fell in love with from around the globe. As the cast will soon discover, fans are not quick to forget their beloved characters and the names: Chuck, Sarah, Casey, Morgan, Ellie, Awesome,...

So it has come to this. One last night with Chuck, Sarah, Casey, Morgan, Ellie, Awesome, and the Buy More gang. It’s been a great run. Yvonne Strahovski‘s farewell is pretty spoilery about one of Sarah’s scenes, but it’s not the final scene, so we recommend it – and did you remember she has an accent offscreen? It’s adorable.

The prevailing theme during "Chuck's" final days of filming was, not surprisingly, the emotions the cast and crew were feeling at the end of their five-season run together. Joshua Gomez says the waves of feeling started even before that.

"I get a text from Ryan McPartlin going , 'Dude, I just got the last script. I'm in tears, man,'" Gomez says. "I'm like, 'Oh, was it good?' He's like, 'No, I just looked at the title.' I'm like, 'Dude, didn't you play football?' This guy, he blows my mind. He cries, this man. ...

"But it's wonderful, and it's beautiful. It's all these beautiful moments. It kind of takes you five years,...

Jeff and Lester saved the day, while Sarah Walker lost the last five years of her memory on this past Friday's Chuck.

Chuck began with a very special opening title, one fans will definitely appreciate especially since this was not the series finale and fans would love nothing more for familiarity come then. Perhaps the original opening awaits us in the finale episode? No matter, this week was the calm before the storm and an almost movie like opening set the tone perfectly for this week and the final episode. Embrace the movie like opening, people because this is it.

In “Chuck vs. the Bullet Train,” Sarah (Yvonne Strahovski) and John Casey (Adam Baldwin) are on a mission to rescue Chuck (Zachary Levi), to Chuck’s surprise, with the intersect in Sarah’s head. Chuck was understandably worried about this result but watching the two later bond over how awesome the intersect benefits are was quite a moment.
