Zachary Levi isn’t giving up on the movie followup to his NBC series Chuck, and he says creators Josh Schwartz and Chris Fedak are on board.
Levi starred in the spy dramedy from 2007 to 2012 as Chuck Bartowski, an average guy who was dragged into the world of the the CIA and Nsa to take on dangerous criminals and other threats. He’s been campaigning for an expansion of the Chuck universe since the show ended, but he recently said on SiriusXM’s The Jess Cagle Show that it might actually be coming to fruition.
“I’ve been trying to make a Chuck movie since before we even finished the show. I saw the writing on the wall, I saw a lot of the streaming stuff starting to pop up. I saw a lot of like, well, people are doing, you know, like, you know, Zach Braff, I think was crowdfunding.

Zachary Levi, who starred as the titular protagonist of Chuck from 2007 to 2012, is still campaigning for a sequel movie and appealing to series co-producer Chris Fedak to write a script.
While NBC’s hit show suffered from low ratings during its run, Chuck has always taken advantage of a dedicated fanbase and over the many years of its absence, a cult following has formed around the adventures of the nerdy computer expert named Charles Bartowski, who has all the secrets of the world encoded inside his brain, and his sidekicks Agent Sarah Walker and Colonel John Casey.
Even though the cast of Chuck seem to be doing alright for themselves, they’re still very passionate about their former family and have expressed interest in a reunion as a sequel movie or better yet, a sixth season. Energy wars? Time-traveling murderers? Castle and Beckett have three children?
"Castle" went a little bit nuts -- in the best possible way -- for its time-travel episode, "Time Will Tell." Guest-starring Joshua Gomez ("Chuck") as either a future cop or an obsessed nutjob, the police have to stop a scary murderer before more people die.
Depending on who you believe in this one, the eventual death toll would be either three or billions. It's awesome either way.
"Lot of weirdos out there with too much imagination."
From its first moments, this is an odd "Castle." A young woman is found tortured and killed. Although the woman, Shauna, was a parole officer, none of her ex-cons are likely suspects. The only person of interest is an unidentified crazy guy in a hoodie.
That would be "Simon Doyle" (Gomez). When questioned, Doyle admits to stalking Shauna before her death but only because...

I hope and pray there is a serious overlap between fans of Chuck and Castle, otherwise I don’t know if anyone will appreciate this bit of casting news. Joshua Gomez, known to us Chuck fans as Morgan Grimes, will be guest starring in Castle’s sixth season and will be bringing a little wackiness to the show that only a Chuck alum could. I love this guy to death – he was one of my favorite parts of what made Chuck so enjoyable for five seasons – and I’m so stoked to see him work alongside Nathan Fillion and Stana Katic, but not nearly as stoked as I am for the character he’ll be playing.

Is "Castle" bringing a "Chuck" star back to the future? Joshua Gomez, who played the main character's bearded sidekick on five years of "Chuck," will guest star in the fifth episode of "Castle" Season 6.
Oddly, he's claiming to be a time traveler in that episode.
According to EW.com, Gomez will play a murder suspect who claims to have traveled into the past in order to stop some terrible event from occurring. The police, however, think that he is just a murderer.
Is the man crazy? Or did -- as Castle (Nathan Fillion) will undoubtedly think -- actually travel through time?
This isn't the first time that an actor from "Chuck" has shown up on "Castle." Adam Baldwin, who played John Casey on "Chuck," reunited with his "Firefly" co-star Fillion on a 2012 episode of the police procedural. Bonita Friedericy, General Beckman on the spy comedy, also guest-starred on "Castle," playing a nun.

It’s safe to say Castle and Beckett have never encountered a suspect-of-the-week quite like this.
EW has learned exclusively that Joshua Gomez (Morgan from "Chuck"!) has been recruited to guest star as a suspect in a grisly murder who claims to have traveled back in time to stop terrible events from unfolding — events that will change the course of human history.

While we're still reeling from the news that Tatiana Maslany will guest star on Parks and Recreation, ABC has spilled its own fun piece of casting news:
Joshua Gomez - forever beloved by Chuck fans for his role as Morgan - will appear on Castle Season 6 as the suspect in a murder case. Pretty basic, right? Not quite.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Gomez's character will allege that he has been sent, Terminator style, back through time in order to prevent catastrophic events from befalling mankind.

Chuck, Pilot: “Chuck Versus the Intersect”
Written by Josh Schwartz, and Chris Fedak
Directed by McG
Originally aired, September 24th 2007
Pilots are always a tricky business. Some make a spectacle of themselves with an extended runtime or are churned by adverts months in advances; some have the unenviable task of juggling world building, establishing character relations, and stringing out multiple storyline threads for the entirety of the series. Television pilots require a unique blend of instant gratification as well as playing the long game. A pilot has to establish many things, but above all, it must create the foundations for characters that audiences will fall for and become totally invested in. People tune in ritualistically for these characters week in and week out. Viewers form familial bonds and sometimes a sense of entitlement towards television characters which can result in a rabid fan base. A great pilot has to create...

Spoiler Warning: If you fancy watching Chuck fresh, it might be worth giving this article a miss for now, as it is full of spoilers. Feel free to come back once you have watched it though!
I’m crap at watching TV. Not the act of sitting down, snacks in hand, and enjoying a good programme, that bit's easy. I do find it tricky to sit myself in the chair the same time each week to keep up with a series, though.
The DVD box-set is therefore a big friend of mine. I have discovered many of my favourite shows – The Wire, 24, Mad Men, Misfits – a while after they originally aired. Holding its head high among those is Chuck. I have to confess to my ignorance and admit I knew very...

This episode of "Chuck," the series finale, takes place two weeks after "Chuck vs. Sarah." Quinn (Angus Macfadyen) is on a plane, looking to buy a key (well actually, three pieces that make up a key) that will fix the Intersect and allow it to be reprogrammed. Sarah (Yvonne Strahovski) has snuck onboard the plane, hoping avenge Quinn taking away all of her memories. Just before she can shoot him, Quinn senses her presence and pulls a gun on her. Sarah blows out the door of the plane and dives for safety. In the meantime, Chuck (Zachary Levi) is struggling with the loss of the Intersect, his spy status and also his wife. Ellie (Sarah Lancaster), Morgan (Joshua Gomez) and Devon (Ryan McPartlin) persuade him to try to win her back, hoping that if he can spark the right emotions within ...

The fifth season of NBC’s comedy-adventure TV show Chuck is, very sadly, the final season.
The nerd-herder-turned-spy, played with such boyish charm by Zachary Levi (Tangled), went out on his own in season 5 — no intersect and no CIA backup. Of course, bad guys are still out to get him. But John Casey (Adam Baldwin, Serenity), Sarah Walker (Yvonne Strahovski, Killer Elite) and Morgan Grimes (Joshua Gomez, TV’s Without a Trace) are still on Chuck’s team.
The Chuck: The Complete Fifth Season DVD and Blu-ray include 13 episodes, in which they take on a missing persons case, try to stop an assassin at a Buy More convention, infiltrate a cult and, of course, say goodbye.

If the series finale of Chuck wasn’t a proper farewell, I do not know what is. These final two hours of Chuck were the most beautiful love letters to the fans, cast, crew, and everyone involved in supporting Chuck over these five incredible seasons. The comedy, the action, the romance, the geek references… it all came to an end last night in the most perfect way. Josh Schwartz and Chris Fedak did not disappoint. Everyone poured their heart and soul into the finale and it showed. What a beautiful ending.
“Wow, it’s all ending, huh?” – Morgan
In Chuck vs. Sarah, Chuck (Zachary Levi) did not have to go far to find Sarah (Yvonne Strahovski) as she made her way back to Burbank… for Chuck’s spy resources in her mission to take down Quinn. The mention of Bryce’s name was the first butterfly to flutter and there...

"Chuck, tell me our story."
Wasn't the answer Sarah got so much better than an upload from Intersect glasses?
I'll go on record right away as saying that I was very pleased with the "Chuck" finale, and I think the last 30 minutes of the final episode rank up there with the absolute best the show has ever done. It got dusty in my house many times during those last two hours, and as a sustained, well-earned sentimental farewell, the finale was everything I could have hoped for.
I needed to be convinced, however. When last week's episode ended with Sarah's memories gone, I was alarmed (even though I thought "Chuck Versus the Bullet Train" was a good...

Confession: I may or may not be crying as I write this after watching tonight's series finale of Chuck. Ok, I totally am. Warning: The final two hours will put you through the emotional ringer! To help prepare you to say goodbye (and bring a little nostalgic levity!), we've compiled a look back at some of our favorite behind-the-scenes moments with the cast (exclusive video from our Chuck vault), and the show's greatest—and geekiest—guest stars. Hey, remember that time Zachary Levi got pregnant with Josh Gomez's baby to help save the show? Good. Times. Check it out! Chuck star Yvonne Strahovski is many things. Beautiful. Sexy. Quite convincing as a butt-kicking secret agent.
But she is not an easy cry.
Until, that is, she began nearing the very end of her days as Sarah Walker. “[Yvonne] is always a little bit tough, and she kept her cool…,” costar Joshua Gomez shared with reporters during a finale-time visit to the Chuck set. “And then all of the sudden, she was like, ‘Gomez, I can’t stop!’”
“I cried this whole [final] month,” Strahovski herself admitted. “I’ve just been crying, every single day. I [even] cried when i did my last fight scene ever.

Just like in the children’s tale of the “little engine that could,” Chuck was a television show that kept on chugging away against all odds and carved out a place in television history by running five seasons on the sheer will-power of its fans. Millions of Subway sandwiches later, the fans are still passionately devoted to their show. Having coined the phrases: Nerd Herd, Buy More and Captain Awesome, as well as creating a whole new dialect comprised of “the Intersect”, “flashes” and “Jeffster” and redefining what it means when a TV show is “on the bubble,” Chuck is now legendary. It not only created a universally-accepted and widely used lexicon, Chuck also introduced characters which fans fell in love with from around the globe. As the cast will soon discover, fans are not quick to forget their beloved characters and the names: Chuck, Sarah, Casey, Morgan, Ellie, Awesome,...

So it has come to this. One last night with Chuck, Sarah, Casey, Morgan, Ellie, Awesome, and the Buy More gang. It’s been a great run. First we have a nice exciting TV spot to get you all excited for tonight’s two-hour series finale, then we have some wonderfully thoughtful and honestly tear-jerking farewells from the cast to get you all maudlin:
Let’s be clear: when they said “next Friday” on that TV spot, they meant Tonight.
If you’re new to the series, star Zachary Levi‘s farewell will give you a nice idea of what the show’s characters have been through. If you’re a fan, grab the Kleenex.
Yvonne Strahovski‘s farewell is pretty spoilery about one of Sarah’s scenes, but it’s not the final scene, so we recommend it – and did you remember she has an accent offscreen? It’s adorable.

Previously on Zap2it's "Chuck" finale countdown, we spoke with Yvonne Strahovski and Adam Baldwin and the members of Jeffster! as they filmed the show's last episode. Up next: Morgan Guillermo Grimes himself, Joshua Gomez.
The prevailing theme during "Chuck's" final days of filming was, not surprisingly, the emotions the cast and crew were feeling at the end of their five-season run together. Joshua Gomez says the waves of feeling started even before that.

If Chuck (Zachary Levi) and Sarah’s (Yvonne Strahovski) goal is to cut out the dangerous spying as NBC’s Chuck heads into Friday’s series finale, then the couple is failing miserably. Chuck began with a very special opening title, one fans will definitely appreciate especially since this was not the series finale and fans would love nothing more for familiarity come then. Perhaps the original opening awaits us in the finale episode? No matter, this week was the calm before the storm and an almost movie like opening set the tone perfectly for this week and the final episode. Embrace the movie like opening, people because this is it.
