Just a decade ago, developer Naughty Dog found incredible success with The Last of Us. It’s a game that tells the story of a hardened smuggler and a loud-mouthed teenager who must team up to cross a treacherous, post-apocalyptic United States.

HBO’s The Last of Us is one of those rare video game adaptations that worked almost as well as its source material. Based on the incredible games by Naughty Dog, the show starred Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey as the leads, going on a cross-country adventure in a zombie-infested apocalyptic world.
Anna Torv’s Tess is one of the most memorable among the many guest stars who appear in each episode. Her relationship with Joel at the beginning of the series and her ultimate sacrifice are endearing and heartbreaking. However, she is involved in one of the most disgusting scenes in the show, but thankfully, Torv did not have to perform it for real.

Netflix’s Mindhunter had all the ingredients for success. A gripping story about the real-life FBI agents who studied serial killers? Check. A talented cast, led by Jonathan Groff and Anna Torv? Check.
And a dark, fierce aura that keeps viewers’ hearts in their throats? Absolutely check. Yet, despite all the hype and praise, Netflix decided to cancel the show after just two seasons.

If you’re like us, you probably wasted hours binge-watching the FBI squad untangle the sick minds of history’s most heinous murderers. It was unlike anything we’d seen before—a slow-burn psychological drama that kept getting better with each episode.
So, why did Netflix pull the plug so soon? After all, Mindhunter wasn’t just a fan favorite—it was also lauded. So, what happened? Let’s dive in and see what really went down with Mindhunter‘s untimely cancellation.

One of the many surprises in the second episode of The Last of Us Season 1 was the discovery that Anna Torv’s character, Tess, was infected. In the end, the scene generated a great deal of controversy among viewers of the HBO series who were devastated and did not expect the traumatic event to transpire in such a tragic manner.

Netflix's psychological deep-dive into real-life serial killers, Mindhunter, was canceled after season 2, but the streaming service never outright explained why. Mindhunter is based on the true story of the FBI's Behavioral Science Unit and its founding members. Those members - Holden Ford (Jonathan Groff), Bill Tench (Holt McCallany), and Dr. Wendy Carr (Anna Torv) - interviewed serial killers extensively to learn how their minds worked and how to catch future murderers. Mindhunter was a brilliant mix of mystery and psychological drama, and it ended a bit too soon.
Mindhunter was majorly popular in many ways. It boasts an extremely impressive 97% average on Rotten Tomatoes, with Mindhunter season 2 at 99%. The cast of Mindhunter season 2 also boasted some very notable actors, such as Tony-winning actor Jonathan Groff, and the show still has a dedicated following five years after its last season. The romanticized notion of the cowboy, of ranchers who live by their own rules and represent the very idea of freedom, is something shared between Americans and Australians. Around the middle of the 19th century, both countries had an untamed "wild west" that spanned as far as the eye could see, and cattle ranching became a way to "settle" those wild lands. There's a reason why there are so many great Australian westerns, from Jennifer Kent's "The Nightingale" to John Hillcoat's "The Proposition," and those cowboy stories have turned into ranching stories. So of course the land Down Under is getting in on the latest and greatest cowboy-flavored fad, with a Netflix miniseries that clearly looks to be Australia's answer to the Taylor Sheridan juggernaut "Yellowstone."

Netflix's Territory has been a major success for the streaming service, and it is a great reminder to watch David Fincher's serial killer show with 97% on Rotten Tomatoes that Netflix canceled five years ago. Territory is just the latest in a long line of incredibly successful Netflix original dramas, with the series receiving a lot of praise from critics and fans alike. However, many of these past shows have also had the unfortunate fate of getting canceled far too soon, such as this David Fincher series that acts as the perfect follow-up to Territory.

The series opens on the death of Daniel Lawson, the head of the world's largest cattle station, with the rest of the series following the Lawson family as they battle over who will succeed Daniel as the new leader of Marianne Station.

Netflix's new series, Territory, offers a terrific combination of Yellowstone's plot and Mad Max's aesthetic. With Yellowstone's immense popularity following its premiere in 2018, it's no surprise other platforms are trying to emulate it. Netflix's take on the neo-Western soap opera mash-up offers something new, with its central Lawson family and their cattle empire set in the Northern Territory of Australia.

If you’re looking for a new addictive Western drama now that “Yellowstone” is headed toward its final episodes, Netflix has delivered “Territory” just in time. The Australian succession drama stars Anna Torv, Michael Dorman and Robert Taylor in a sprawling saga about the fight for power and coveted land in the outback.
Set in the vast wilderness of Australia’s Top End, “Territory” follows the generational battle between rival cattle barons, lawless cattle thieves, Indigenous elders and billionaire miners. Fighting for land and cattle, the six-episode series is centered on the Lawson family, who runs Marrianne Station, the world’s biggest cattle station, and has to fend off encroaching forces at every side.
A generational Western epic, “Territory” has a vast ensemble cast to match. If you’re trying to keep track of the Lawsons, Hodges, Kirbys and more — and who plays them — here’s the “Territory” cast and character guide you need.

Netflix's Territory surrounds the Lawsons, a notable and wealthy family in the show's fictional cattle industry. The neo-Western series begins with the death of Daniel Lawson, the owner of Marianne Station, resulting in a conflict of succession over the world's largest cattle ranch. Throughout season 1, audiences are introduced to several key members of the Lawson family and their friends and romantic interests, making up a majority of Territory's cast. With the show's quick pacing, it can be hard to keep track of who's who and what their relation is to everyone else.
As events build toward Territory's ending, the specifics of various relationships start to matter more and more. For example, Graham Lawson is the elder son of Daniel Lawson, but he wasn't the one to take ownership of the Marianne Cattle Station. Not to mention, the family patriarch, Colin Lawson, is still alive, yet he's passed down ownership...

Territory begins with a death. So it shouldn’t come as a surprise that not everyone in this series — about the fight for power in Australia’s unforgiving and awe-inspiring Northern Territory — makes it to the end of the finale.
The story follows the fight for control over Marianne Station, the largest cattle station in Australia — and a billion-dollar empire — after heir Daniel Lawson (Jake Ryan) is found dead and patriarch Colin (Robert Taylor) must choose a new successor. In line are screwup alcoholic oldest son, Graham (Michael Dorman); Graham’s ambitious wife from a rival family, Emily (Anna Torv); Graham’s twentysomething prodigal son, Marshall (Sam Corlett); and Graham and Emily’s whipsmart teenage daughter, Susie (Philippa Northeast).
Circling Marianne are billionaire mining magnate Sandra Kirby (Sara Wiseman); notorious cattle thief (and Emily’s brother) Hank Hodge (Dan Wyllie); Indigenous station owner Nolan Brannock (Clarence Ryan); and nefarious cattle...

During the era of network television, shows used to have a shelf-life of at least 10 seasons. Some TV series that were made before the Ott boom continue to enjoy the freedom to adapt and improve over the course of many years, but the same can’t be said about made-for-ott shows, especially the ones on Netflix. Yes, “guilty pleasure content” like Emily in Paris and Elite has benefited from the hate-watch syndrome. However, a lot of really good shows have been unceremoniously axed by the streaming platform before they could find their audience. The one cancellation that hurt viewers the most was Mindhunter. Now, ever since its termination, fans have been clamoring for David Fincher, Jonathan Groff, Holt McCallany, Anna Torv, and the rest of the team to come together for at least one more season. Like the monkey’s paw curling effect, they did return to Netflix, but just via different projects.

Netflix's latest Western TV drama, Territory, features a strong ensemble cast centered around the main Lawson family. Described frequently as a Yellowstone-like family epic but set in the northern regions of Australia, Territory tells the story of a power struggle following the death of Daniel Lawson, the owner of the Marianne Cattle Station. With no clear candidate set to take his place, a conflict ensues between rival cattle farmers, gangsters, mining magnates, and members of the Lawson family. Headlined by Anna Torv and Michael Dorman, the performances are undoubtedly the show's strong suit.
To construct an authentic feeling for the series, Territory's main cast is made up entirely of Australian and New Zealand-based actors. So, while there may be a handful of fresh faces for audiences watching on Netflix, there are also some familiar stars playing prevalent roles. Actors Anna Torv, Michael Dorman, and Robert Taylor have all...

Warning! This article contains major Spoilers for The Lincoln Lawyer season 3!Though Mindhunter hasnt released a new season on Netflix since 2019, the sting of its cancelation hurts again with Holt McCallanys new role on The Lincoln Lawyer. Directed and produced by the celebrated thriller movie director David Fincher, Netflixs hit true crime drama followed FBI Agents Bill Tench (McCallany) and Holden Ford (Jonathan Groff) as well as psychologist Wendy Carr (Anna Torv) as they interview, research, and profile serial killers in the late 1970s and early 1980s. After season 2 saw them investigate a string of Atlanta murders in the early 80s, the door seemed open for Mindhunter season 3.
Sadly, however, it was soon announced that season 3 would be indefinitely put on hold, with David Fincher confirming in 2023 that Mindhunter was over. Still, there have been high hopes that Mindhunter will eventually be resurrected at Netflix with McCallany, Groff, and Torv reprising their roles.

Within the expansive world of science fiction television, there has seldom been a series as compelling and controversial as Lost, which likely inspired Fringe. With convoluted plot threads and mysteries galore, Lost mesmerized audiences throughout its six-season run. When Lost finally ended, there was a need for something just as engaging. This is when Fringe not only stepped in to fill this void but also improved upon Lost with a unique brand of brilliant sci-fi.
Lost offers more overarching, mind-bending mysteries, but Fringe's cast and characters give rise to potent character development and complex relationships, namely between Olivia Dunham (Anna Torv), Peter Bishop (Joshua Jackson), and Walter Bishop (John Noble). Furthermore, while Lost dragged out its mysteries over many seasons, Fringe provided more regular payoffs.
