Expanding Los Angeles-based distributor Safier Entertainment has acquired worldwide rights to the comedic holiday feature “Christmas Vs. the Walters” out of the Cannes Film Market.

The ensemble film is led by Oscar nominee Bruce Dern, “30 Rock” regular and “Oz” actor Dean Winters, “Saw” franchise star Shawnee Smith and Emmy-winning “Schitt’s Creek” star Chris Elliott.

Promised a wide theatrical release on Nov. 5 before heading to paid VOD and digital sell-through, the film is directed by genre helmer Peter D’Amato. He penned the script with Ante Novakovic.

This year's Zootopia was quite the pleasant surprise. Yes, in the past eight years or so, with the involvement of John Lasseter, Disney has been upping their animated game tremendously. From films like Bolt and The Princess And The Frog to Wreck-it Ralph and Tangled, they've certainly managed to make an amazing comeback. With that in mind, I went into Zootopia with a certain expectation of quality: I expected great characters, a tight script, some funny jokes, a decent amount of heart, and beautiful animation.

The movie more than delivered on those expectations without breaking a sweat. But what I did not expect was for Zootopia to be a well-told social commentary that brings awareness to racial stereotyping. From the get-go, that's what the movie set itself up as, and as I got deeper and deeper into the runtime, it became all the more clear that this was a bona fide classic.

“I am just a dumb bunny, but, we are good at multiplying!”

When I reviewed Zootopia here at We Are Movie Geeks, I wrote”, the beautifully designed, brightly-hued Zootopia is breezier and bouncier than most. One of the most interesting things about Walt Disney Feature Animation is the way it has evolved over the course of its history from Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs to today. There are such distinct eras in its development, such major shifts in creative energy, such giant peaks and valleys, that even the worst moments in its history are worth study for animation fans. I wish Disney would embrace their entire history and not just their hits, because there is so much to learn from films like Song Of The South or The Black Cauldron. Right now, though, they have hit a stride that is admirable, and Zootopia is another triumph for the current version of the studio following films like Tangled, Wreck-It Ralph, Frozen, and Big Hero 6. First and foremost, Zootopia is a reminder of just how beautiful animated films can be. Holy cow, this thing is almost hallucinatory.

From Star Wars: The Force Awakens to Jurassic World, Fifty Shades of Grey to Alex Garland’s really rather brilliant Ex Machina, the latest batch of posters for Disney’s Zootopia riff on some of the biggest blockbuster releases of 2015 – and the results are wonderful.

It’s fair to say that movie posters have become increasingly unremarkable, with seemingly every action movie adhering to the Marvel-esque knack for superimposing every core character onto a one-sheet. Outside of that, there’s the standard ‘back to camera’ hero shot, placing the main hero or heroine front and center for a brooding picture, so it’s little wonder why something like Fox’s marketing campaign for Deadpool attracts attention for flying in the face of convention.

Disney has released the first full trailer for their upcoming animated adventure, Zootopia. I haven't seen a lot of hype surrounding this movie since it was first announced, but maybe this full-length trailer will change that. I've already seen some of this footage because they screened some stuff at D23 earlier this year, and I've enjoyed everything that I've seen from this movie so far. This is a great trailer that shows you some of the funny humor that the movie will include, and I really think Disney fans are going to get a kick out of it. The sloth character that you'll be introduced to in this trailer is freakin' hysterical. It's such a funny concept for a character.

Arriving on the furry heels of last week’s teaser poster is the first full-length trailer for Disney’s upcoming animation, Zootopia, offering our first look at the titular urban landscape in motion.

For those unfamiliar with the general set up of the film, Zootopia imagines a world completely devoid of humanity, allowing the animal kingdom to rise up and build their own mega-cities. From towering rhinos to the bouncing bunny rabbits, Disney’s anthropomorphic kingdom is simply thriving with life, though today’s clip introduces us to the more laid-back section of society.

Shedding light on the core dynamic between Jason Bateman’s Nick Wild and Ginnifer Goodwin’s officer Judy Hopps, the footage culminates in a segment that involves the pair engaging in a conversation – or at the very least trying to – with Dash, a sloth that is about as slow with admin duties as one would expect.

Throughout the years, the creative minds behind Supernatural have managed to find a way to believably include comedic elements within the framework of the series without jumping the shark, so to speak. The promo video for “Just My Imagination” shows that they look to continue this tradition. Fans of episodes such as “Tall Tales,” “Wishful Thinking,” and “Changing Channels” are well advised to set their DVRs for what could very well be an installment that we will be talking about for years to come.
