Given that the character is known for his wild rages and tendency to yell the phrase "Hulk smash!," it's curious that Kenneth Johnson's 1970s TV series "The Incredible Hulk" should be as melancholy as it is. Series protagonist David Banner (Bill Bixby) is depicted as a lonely, tragic figure, hating the fact that he, when enraged, turns into a green monster (played by superstar bodybuilder Lou Ferrigno). Indeed, in the TV show -- unlike the original Marvel comic books -- Dr. Banner first started experimenting with strength-giving radiation after he witnessed his wife die in a car crash. He had heard the stories of certain people summoning great strength in emergencies, and wanted to give himself that strength permanently, using it to fight off the trauma and sadness he always carried around.
Then, once he managed to accidentally give himself Hulk strength, it immediately divided Dr. Banner from the rest of society.

“Avengers: Endgame” premiered some time ago, yet it remains one of the most celebrated and influential comic book movies ever made. The film marked a turning point for Marvel and the MCU, closing an era while reshaping the universe’s narrative, and setting up a future filled with both highs and lows.
While “Endgame” delivered many memorable moments, several scenes never made it to the final version, either ending up as deleted extras or left unfilmed entirely. According to a recent tweet, one particularly epic scene was initially intended for the final cut but ultimately was never shot.
The scene would have featured a dramatic encounter between Bruce Banner and the Hulk in the Soul Realm, a moment that fans agree would have been incredible. However, the crew opted not to film it, and judging by the reactions in the tweet’s comments, fans are outraged over the missed opportunity.

Avengers: Endgame premiered a long time ago, but it is still considered to be one of the best and most influential comic book movies of all time. Endgame changed the game for Marvel and the MCU, ending an era and changing the state of the universe’s narrative going forward, and that “forward” had its good and bad moments.
But, while we saw a lot in that movie, there are some scenes that did not make it into the final cut, either ending up as deleted extras or never being filmed at all. Based on a recent Tweet, a very epic scene was supposed to end up in the final cut of the movie, but the crew decided not to film it.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is a huge cinematic franchise with countless characters spread across many timelines and universes. Marvel Studios, since its inception, has pretty much nailed every comic book character, but there have also been quite a few misses. One of the franchises’ greatest fails, at least according to fans, has been Mark Ruffalo’s Smart Hulk.

Debuting in Avengers: Endgame, the character has received a lot of flak since the start, for it ruined the Hulk image and persona that fans have come to love. However, Marvel fans might have gotten some closure on the Smart Hulk mishap had Marvel Studios not deleted one scene featuring Ruffalo, which most fans are just finding out about now.

Throughout the history of the MCU, Hulk has been one of the fiercest superheroes to exist, depicting extraordinary strength and rage in both his good and bad forms. Deemed the ‘Strongest Avenger’ in the cinematic universe, although he has evolved a lot over the years, the big green giant still ranks among the most formidable beings to exist from the immortal race.

While Mark Ruffalo’s Banner is currently playing in the MCU, the previous iterations of the character have been nothing short of extraordinarily ferocious themselves, embodied by Edward Norton and Eric Bana. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, comparing heroes is like mixing apples and oranges—one is a cosmic fruit salad, and the other is a grounded slice of pie. Not convinced? Take Bruce Banner’s Hulk and Tatiana Maslany’s She-Hulk, for instance. Recently, Marvel fans have been chattering about She-Hulk’s attempts to tackle sexism in a way that some perceive as trivial compared to the Hulk’s far more harrowing experiences.

In She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, Maslany’s Jennifer Walters dives headlong into the quagmire of gender bias. However, this has made some fans shake their heads, thinking Hulk’s disturbing past—complete with near-suicide, military chases, and alien adventures—makes She-Hulk’s battles look like a walk in the park.
You might be well aware that Jennifer’s cousin, Hulk (Bruce Banner), has been grappling with epic-sized woes in the MCU.

"Are you ready?" "Ready for what?" "To party, my man!!" Ahahaha let's go!! Raven Banner has released a first look teaser trailer for a wacky horror comedy called Frankie Freako, the latest by filmmaker Steven Kostanski. He's the very same director behind the other cult classic horror faves Manborg, The Void, and Psycho Goreman (!!) and this is his new creation - "he taps into the nostalgia of Saturday morning cartoons, the charm of old-school puppetry, and gonzo comedy!" Could this be just the recipe to spice up his boring life? Soon his home is overrun with interdimensional beings that bring chaos to his life and he must figure out how to get rid of them. She-Hulk has famously gained a reputation as one of the worst Marvel shows to date. Fans have been more than just critical of the series, ripping it to shreds in every way possible and using it as a cautionary tale for the decline of the superhero genre. However, many forget that the show wasn’t a complete failure.

And while the MCU is currently focused on the return of Robert Downey Jr. in the role of Victor Von Doom, one of Marvel’s biggest villains, Marvel’s comics are continuing on their own path as the storylines we love to follow are being continued, and these stories and characters are being evolved further, which is going to be the focus of this report as well.

The legend of the Hulk spans way further than Mark Ruffalo’s portrayal in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Being one of the most ridiculously overpowered characters from the comics, there are several reasons why fans adore him as much as they do. Be it his fighting style, his comedic timing, his tantrums, or the way he completely destroys his enemies, to say that the green radiation-filled monster is an icon would be an understatement.

While the classic version of the character is loved for many reasons, there are several others that are yet to make their debut. Ranging from Worldbreaker Hulk and Gray Hulk to Cosmic Hulk and Weapon H, all versions of the character are deadly in some brutal way or another.
While the comics do an excellent job of showcasing this aspect of the character, the MCU has been falling behind.

With Deadpool and Wolverine having arrived in movie theaters (and absolutely dominating the box office), the only Marvel Cinematic Universe film of 2024 is officially out in the world. The franchise will return with a TV series this year in Disney Plus' Agatha All Along but its next cinematic adventure will be Captain America: Brave New World, which comes out on Valentine's Day next year.
The fourth movie in the Captain America franchise, it will take place after the events of Disney Plus series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier as Sam Wilson officially takes up the shield as the next Star-Spangled Man. The first trailer was released last month, and it gave audiences a glimpse of what to expect, including the first official look at Harrison Ford's Red Hulk.

The MCU is currently in the midst of Phase 5, which is shaping up to be part of the Multiverse Saga. Right now, things are quite confusing. With Kang the Conqueror introduced as the villain, his storyline may need to be hastily wrapped up, and Doctor Doom must be set up quickly and efficiently for the overarching narrative to make sense.
Phase 4 left many unresolved plot points and apparent plot holes, requiring numerous projects to address them all. Given that Phase 4 has the lowest approval ratings of any MCU phase so far, there are many elements that currently don’t make sense. We’ve compiled a list of the most glaring abandoned storylines, so let’s dive in.

MCU is currently in the middle of phase 5 of what appears to be the Multiverse Saga of the MCU, and things are at the moment confusing, to say the least. MCU has dropped Kang the Conqueror as the villain, presumably his story will be hastily wrapped up and Doctor Doom needs to be set up quickly and efficiently for things to make sense.

While the Hulk has been an integral part of the MCU, the character has not been able to receive the love and attention that he deserves thanks to his messed up distribution rights, which bar him from being a lead in a show without Disney having to split profits with Universal Studios. With the Red Hulk set to make his big-screen debut in the next Captain America movie, let’s look at the versions of the smashing hero previously introduced in the MCU.
Bruce Banner VersionsSavage Hulk
After Banner injects himself with a gamma radiation-based version of the Super Soldier Serum, he transforms into a hulking green-skinned creature incapable of control and judgment. In time, he develops more command over the Hulk, even responding to a “lullaby” to calm the big guy down.
Gladiator Hulk
Running away after the battle of Sokovia, the Hulk crashes in Sakaar, where he becomes a champion gladiator under the Grandmaster’s employ. No longer living in someone else’s shadow, the Hulk suppresses Banner’s consciousness for two years until Thor arrives to enlist his help.

Sam Wilson is ready to pick up the shield, and not a moment too soon.
The first trailer for Captain America: Brave New World has dropped. Anthony Mackie’s feature debut as Cap feels more like a thriller from the 1990s, and not just because it has Harrison Ford in a presidential role. Directed by Julius Onah and co-written by The Falcon and the Winter Soldier showrunner Malcolm Spellman, Brave New World deals with a conspiracy within the White House, which means a lot of folks in nice clothes pulling guns and looking concerned in boardrooms.
But as Captain America: The Winter Soldier taught us, even a paranoid thriller is still an MCU movie, so lets look at the superhero goodness promised by the Brave New World trailer.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has had many iconic moments that have shaped the franchise into what it is today. The first three phases did an exceptional job of building intriguing character arcs and interconnecting each story to a climactic event in the form of the last two Avengers films.

The franchise has seen a significant drop in quality since Phase 4 and the underwhelming developments in recent years have not done justice to the brilliance of the first 3 phases. One of the frustrating ones is how they have reduced the Hulk into a sideshow compared to the incredible rage and brutality he showed in the first Avengers.

Recently, it was announced that Capcom would be releasing yet another game collection, this time focusing on their arcade efforts with Marvel Comics. Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics comes with a rocking Punisher beat ‘em up, as well as a series of six fighting games that have evolved over the course of six years. In 1994, X-Men: Children of the Atom arrived with an Akuma cameo in it, and by 2000, we had Marvel vs. Capcom 2, featuring a massive roster of heroes and villains from both companies.
The cover art, used as part of the collection’s reveal, updates the intro of X-Men vs. Street Fighter by once again having Ryu shake hands with Cyclops. It’s a fitting image, as the Jim Lee version of Cyclops is back in the zeitgeist thanks to the success of X-Men ’97. Still, certain parts of those games might not feel as timeless...

The death of Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man in Avengers: Endgame snuffed out all hopes of seeing the iconic character again in future MCU installments. Even Kevin Feige confirmed they won’t revive Tony Stark after working so hard for eleven years to give him the most satisfying conclusion.

Everyone just wants Stark back one way or another, but is there really a way to see him again? A new Marvel theory says yes, and this could be the ticket to bringing him back into the fold.

Superhero Movies that Would Be Better Off Getting a The Boys-Style Remake - Main Image
The Boys introduces a darker and more cynical take on the superhero genre. It shows a superhero-dominated world's moral complexities, flaws, and underlying issues. This realistic take on the superheroes is one of the main reasons why The Boys has garnered so much attention.
Many superhero movies would be entertaining with The Boys’ style of direction. In this article, we will list some of our favourites that deserve a remake in The Boys' style.
The Punisher (2004)
The Punisher should be a top pick if we are talking about a more in-depth and darker look at superheroes. While The Punisher (2004) had its fair share of flaws, Thomas Jane’s (Frank Castle / The Punisher) phenomenal acting made it a worthwhile movie to watch.

Ever since Hulk made his way to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the character’s portrayal and representation have been shrouded with issues and problems. According to several Marvel fans, while Mark Ruffalo’s portrayal is exemplary, MCU’s Hulk is far from his comic book iteration. Not only do many find MCU’s Hulk devoid of the real rage depicted in the comics, but they feel Hulk as a character has not got enough screen time.

While the character has been somewhat well-developed, much of his development has been behind the screen, making fans complain more and more. And just one scene from Eric Bana’s Hulk is enough to justify how Marvel Studios failed their fans and Hulk.

“Any time your film is called The Smashing Machine, you’re going to kind of get smashed up.” That’s how Dwayne Johnson put it, as he revealed he suffered an injury on his right elbow while filming his new wrestling drama for A24.
“I got banged up pretty good today in our scenes. There might be some soft tissue fluid in there, we’ll see,” Johnson said Tuesday in a video posted to Instagram. “But the pain feels pretty good. All good.”
He said he will need to have fluid drained before having an Mri to assess the damage.
Johnson stars in The Smashing Machine as Mark Kerr, a two-time UFC Heavyweight Tournament Champion. Uncut Gems co-director Benny Safdie wrote and directs the project, which is being positioned as a prestige play for Johnson, who became one of the world’s top movie stars in big-budget fare such as the Fast & Furious movies,...

There are several differences between the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and the world of Marvel Comics. While the MCU is more of a family entertainment package, the comics are full of some of the best and the worst stories of all time that are surely not made for the faint of heart.

We've been hearing social media buzz about a possible World War Hulk project at Marvel Studios for at least the past couple of years. Where it potentially fits into the wider Multiverse Saga is hard to say, though it seems the story isn't necessarily going to be what you'd expect.
Described by The Cosmic Circus as a "World War" storyline, the groundwork for this has supposedly been laid in Spider-Man: Far From Home, WandaVision, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Black Widow, Eternals, Spider-Man: No Way Home, Ms. Marvel, She-Hulk: Attorney At Law, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, and Secret Invasion.
The gist is that the fear world leaders have of superheroes, and the fact The Avengers are no more, will lead to an arms race of sorts which sees them attempt to create their own superhuman soldiers and teams.

Every year, rumors resurface about the development of the ‘World War Hulk’ movie. These speculations have persisted for years with no apparent resolution. Recently, Ruffalo confirmed that the studio never intended to give him a solo movie, largely due to complex rights issues stemming from a decade-long struggle with Universal.
In his Discord Ama, Cosmic Circus’ Alex Perez revealed that the studio is gradually laying the groundwork for the ‘World War Hulk’ storyline, albeit in a manner that diverges from fan expectations. This approach seems logical, especially if Hulk cannot have a standalone project; the narrative would need to encompass multiple characters and various projects.

With every new year come reports of the ‘World War Hulk’ movie being in development. The rumors have been circling for years now with seemingly no end in sight.

Now during his Discord Ama, Cosmic Circus’ Alex Perez has stated that the studio is slowly preparing the ‘World War Hulk’ storyline, but not in a way that fans expected. One of the most surprising things about Captain America: Brave New World is the fact Sam Wilson will have to match wits with The Leader.
We first met Samuel Sterns in 2008's The Incredible Hulk and learned Bruce Banner's apparent ally had some questionable beliefs when it came to science. That included creating the Abomination and, when Emil Blonsky went on a rampage in Harlem, Sterns got his own dose of Gamma poisoning after a sample of Banner's blood contaminated a wound on his head.
His head started growing and that was the last we saw of Sterns until a tie-in comic (which may or may not be considered "canon") revealed that Black Widow took him into S.H.I.E.L.D. custody.

There is simply an unfathomable amount of heroic acts that Marvel’s Avengers have committed, with respect to effectively all of their different iterations. While live-action and animated adaptations often end up giving a sense of originality to these stories, the fact that there exists around 30,000 different comics arcs means that the source material will always be several steps ahead.

In Marvel Comics, the Hulk has had a ton of variants ranging from the fiercest one who can destroy universes to the smart one who thinks rationally and decides to merge with Bruce Banner on an agreeable settlement, as was seen in Avengers: Endgame. However, bringing them out to live-action isn’t the easiest of tasks, and even Smart Hulk garnered some negative publicity.

This negative publicity started from the fact that the way Banner was directly shown as the result of his getting merged with his angry alter-ego to become the Smart giant in green instead of showing just how this tremendous transformation took place. That said, had the Russo Brothers not ignored one crucial scene with Mark Ruffalo, this new transition would have arguably been a lot less messy.

The development of ‘Captain America: Brave New World’ has faced challenges, experiencing multiple delays due to poor test screenings and the SAG-AFTRA strike, leading to significant story revisions.
Details on the plot remain scarce, except for a brief clip shown at CinemaCon. Notably, the film is expected to feature Harrison Ford as Thunderbolt Ross, Tim Blake Nelson as The Leader, select members of the Serpent Society, and Red Hulk.
Talking about ‘The Leader,’ some time back, we shared a marketing concept of the character’s appearance, which left fans rather unimpressed. However, in a recent episode of Inside of You with Michael Rosenbaum, Tim Blake Nelson dropped a surprising revelation. He mentioned that The Leader will primarily rely on practical effects, aiming to minimize the use of CGI as much as possible.
The Leader will be done “as practically as possible, with an absence of digital… stuff.

Raven Banner Entertainment will launch international sales at the Cannes Film Market for Steven Kostanski’s latest feature “Frankie Freako.”
Kostanski’s previous feature “Psycho Goreman” premiered at SXSW in 2020 and gathered a cult following worldwide. Reviewing the film for Variety, critic Owen Gleiberman described the film as “‘The Toxic Avenger’ remade by the Robert Rodriguez of ‘Spy Kids.'”
“Frankie Freako” is described by Raven Banner as Kostanki’s homage to the practical-fx-driven monster horror-comedies of the 1980s like “Gremlins 2” and “Ghoulies 3: Ghoulies Go to College.” It tells the story of workaholic yuppie Conor Sweeney whose perfect life is turned upside down when he accidentally unleashes a trio of tiny trouble-makers into his home, led by the maniacal rock-n-roll party monster Frankie Freako. It’s a race against time as Conor must defeat the trio and clean up their trail of destruction before his wife returns from her weekend work trip,...

Edward Norton’s The Incredible Hulk was not as bad of a movie, nor was Norton a bad Hulk. In fact, many Marvel fans would love to have him as the Green Goliath instead of MCU’s Mark Ruffalo. Since the past decade, fans have been wanting to see more of the meaner and scarier Hulk instead of Ruffalo’s toned-down, friendlier version that we got in recent years.
