Lalli, born Marinella Ollino in Asti on 1956, started her career in
Turin in the late '70s as voice of the seminal dark-punk band "Franti",
the spine of the then-newborn anarchist punk movement in Italy. Always
coherent and honest with their principles (one of the first bands to
wave the idea of no-copyright, with strong statements about) the band
issued seven self-produced and freely distributable albums before
splitting in 1987 (apart from a brief reunion in 1991); their
complete-works anthology "Non classificato" is a cult album that gets
reprinted from time to time for small labels. After the Franti split,
she created other musical projects, eventually coming to a solo career
releasing three albums, all praised by the critics and sold out even in
the scarce figures of print of the small labels she published for,
still coherent with her philosophy after more than 20 years. She wrote
in 2000 the main song for the soundtrack of "Preferisco il rumore del
mare" by Mimmo Calopresti and acted in very moving parts in "Primo
Amore" (2003) by Matteo Garrone and in "Nemmeno il destino" in
2004.
