Ignacio Lacosta, Senior VFX Supervisor, is an iconic figure in the visual effects industry with a career spanning since 1994.
Starting as a 3D artist in the advertising field, Ignacio has created hundreds of TV commercials, excelling in 3D work and evolving into a supervisor. He has worked on national campaigns for renowned brands such as Lotería DE Navidad, Solán DE Cabras, Dodot, Telefónica, Banco Santander, Endesa, Iberia, and Repsol, as well as international commercials for Audi, CocaCola, BMW, Etisalat, Nestlé, Alitalia, and American Express, among others.
His transition to Visual Effects Supervisor materialized in 2002 with the period series "Viento Del Pueblo" for TVE, marking the beginning of a distinguished supervision career in film and television. Additionally, he has served as a second unit director, filming complex scenes. Since then, Ignacio has supervised 82 titles, including 44 feature films and 38 television series, solidifying his reputation as a high-caliber professional in the sector.
With experience in over a thousand film shoots, combined with his formal education and artistic sensitivity, he has become a renowned specialist in the field, demonstrating high professional and artistic rigor. This has allowed him to successfully develop his international projection, becoming a reference in visual effects for film and television. His work has been awarded on several occasions and at various international festivals.
In 2012, he and his VFX team were awarded the Goya Award for Best Visual Effects for EVA (Kike Maillo). In the year 2015, he received a Special Mention at the Venice International Film Festival for Zero, a production by Scott Free. Additionally, he has won several Gaudí Awards for his work on Magic Journey to Africa, Barça Dreams, The Last Wild, The Frost, and Blackthorn, among other festivals.
In 2016, Ignacio supervised the visual effects for renowned Spanish productions such as El Bar by Álex DE la Iglesia, Que Dios Nos Perdone, "Los Últimos DE Filipinas", "El Jugador DE Ajedrez", and En Zona Hostil. His expertise has also been key to the success of television series like High Seas, Fariña, Cable Girls, Velvet, and "La Sonata Del Silencio". Additionally, he produced and supervised the visual effects for Zero, a YouTube miniseries produced by Scott Free, which has been awarded over 75 international prizes, including its presentation at the Venice International Film Festival.
Ignacio has participated in projects such as Quantum Break (Microsoft) and in American productions like Gnaw, Apartment 112, and Daphne & Velma. Between 2022 and 2023, he supervised major film and television productions, including Boundless by Amazon, about the first circumnavigation of the world by Magellan and Elcano, The Longest Night for Netflix, the series Montecristo, Balenciaga, Memento Mori, and El Zorro for Amazon Prime. In cinema, recent highlights include "Las Niñas DE Cristal" for Netflix, Irati, Culpa Mía, El Test, and the feature film Awareness for Amazon, among others. He has collaborated with major industry companies such as Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, Movistar+, and HBO.
