Personal Short Bio:
Mrs. Rashida Blalock-Ellerby was born and raised in West Philadelphia. She fell in love with Fashion at a very young age, with her peers voting her best dressed in her Senior years of High School. Rashida's aunt being a model in the early 80's, then a teacher at Barbizon Modeling school and sewing most of their wardrobe from scratch, gave Rashida a natural passion for fashion that ran through her blood. While attending Pharmacy School Rashida's urges could not stop her from commuting to NYC and California to find her place in the fashion world. Rashida opted to start her life over in Southern California and working diligently towards her fashion dreams. Rashida has now been a resident of LA for decades. Rashida's career quickly took flight while she was signed with one of the biggest styling agencies in Los Angeles, Margaret Maldonado Agency during the early 2000's.
Rashida was never satisfied driving in one lane of fashion, her talent and courage has landed her Costume Designing Positions in features films, television, commercials, ad campaigns, album packaging, artist development, worldwide/domestic artist tours, advertising, print work, and appearances. During 2008-2009 she also dived into launching a successful denim line (PinkneyTurner). With star appeal attached, her jeans sold out at some of the finest Boutiques in LA (Fred Segal, Lisa Kline, etc....). Rashida is currently starting International/Domestic workshops to encourage and help the youth with pursuing their dreams and goals in the fashion industry, outside of her Youth Outreach Organization.
