With over 15 years of experience producing reality TV, Ine Entertainment comanaging partners Mark Koops and Eric Day have learned to start looking beyond the Hollywood bubble for promising talent.
“We’re out there listening [and] consuming content … and you start to recognize that there are changes afoot. There are new voices that want to see themselves on screen and talk about their lived experiences in different ways,” Day told TheWrap for this week’s Office With a View. “When you’re listening to that, your filter then is authentic people that have a passion for doing something, and there’s a marketplace for that in the television landscape.”
After working with unscripted personalities like Jillian Michaels on “The Biggest Loser” and Gordon Ramsay on “MasterChef,” recognizing potential in young influencers isn’t too far of a stretch for the duo, whose recent slate includes Amazon Kids+’s “Surprise & Seek,” which...

Bill Maher took some time during his “New Rules” segment on Real Time Friday to offer his takeaways from the Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV docuseries.
“As one of the few people in the public eye who’s gone through life and never had kids, someone’s got to tell me why I’m always having to defend them,” the host said. “I don’t even like them, but I do think it’s every adult’s job to protect them.”
His initial reaction to Investigation Discovery’s five-part docuseries, which details allegations of abuse, sexism, racism and inappropriate behavior involving underage actors on Nickelodeon TV show sets, was, “Omg!”
“Nickelodeon? It wasn’t a studio, it was Neverland Ranch with craft services,” he shared of his portrayal of the Network after watching the series. “It is just scene after scene, clip and clip, of the...

An exasperated Bill Maher, notorious for not having his own children, asked on Friday’s ‘Real Time’ why he is the one who is always left trying to defend them.
In his “New Rules” editorial, Maher trained his guns on the shocking Max documentary Quiet on Set, which detailed what the past young stars went through on the Nick sets. “Omg,” was Maher’s opening salvo.
Maher said that the Nickelodeon depicted “wasn’t a studio – it was Neverland Ranch with craft services.” He said the documentary was “scene after scene of the child stars of their day being exposed to…degradation.” He added, “I was grossed out and I’ve gone camping with John Waters.”
The documentary is the talk of the town in Los Angeles, Maher said, but pointed out that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis was derided when he was saying the same things about Disney’s actions.

Besides Maher’s own “Club Random,” the network’s first show is “The Sage Steele Show,” hosted by Sage Steele, dropping March 27. Amid the mounting pressure on Spotify over allegations of Covid misinformation presented on its Joe Rogan Experience podcast, the show’s host made an apology of sorts — “if I pissed you off, I’m sorry” — and garnered support from Dwayne Johnson, Kevin James, Jewel, Jamie Kennedy, Tulsi Gabbard, Troy Aikman, Kat Von D, Domanic Monaghan, Candice Owens, Jillian Michaels, Tomi Lahren and Andrew Dice Clay.
All of those boldfaced names responded in the comments section of the Instagram video that Rogan posted Monday in which he said he just likes to have “interesting conversations with people that have differing opinions,” but admitted he doesn’t “always get it right” and promised to “do better.”
He did so in response to criticism from Neil Young and Joni Mitchell aover what they called “fake information about vaccines” presented on his show. Rogan did not go so far as to characterize views expressed on his show as “fake.

When: Sunday, June 30, 2 p.m.
Where: Plant Food + Wine, 1009 Abbot Kinney Blvd., Venice
In addition to vegan hors d’œuvres, birthday cake, and cocktails, the evening will feature appearances by some of PETA’s celebrity pals — including Jillian Michaels and Charo, who narrated a moving video against bullfighting for the group.

With just one episode of “The Masked Singer” left to go, now is a good time to look back at how well (or not) the four judges — Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy, Nicole Scherzinger and Robin Thicke — have done to date at guessing the real identities of the celebrity contestants. Have you done better than them at figuring out which famous faces were hidden behind those elaborate masks?
The best guesser among the judges is Robin, who has correctly guessed four of the nine celebrities. He is followed closely by Nicole, who has gone three for nine. The worst guessers are Jenny and Ken, who have each managed to make just one correct guess so far. Not surprisingly, those two have embarrassed themselves with their inability to figure out who is behind the mask.

Fox’s reality TV show “The Masked Singer” revealed its fourth celebrity at the end of Wednesday’s episode that welcomed back five costumed characters for encore performances: Alien, Bee, Poodle, Rabbit and Raven. Unfortunately, Poodle ended up being voted out by the studio audience and judges Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy, Nicole Scherzinger, Robin Thicke and guest Joel McHale, so she had to unmask himself in dramatic fashion (watch above). Did You guess that it was actually actress/comedian Margaret Cho inside the Poodle costume singing Cyndi Lauper‘s “Time After Time”?

Fox’s oddball, already-smash-hit celebrity singing game show “The Masked Singer” returned Wednesday, revealing at the end of its fourth episode that the identity of one of its famous contestants — who performed Cyndi Lauper’s “Time After Time” disguised from head to toe in an elaborate Poodle costume — was none other than comedian Margaret Cho.
This episode saw the returns of Raven, Alien, Poodle, Bee and Rabbit. Each performed solo in succession, rather than in sing-offs, which was the format showrunner Izzie Pick Ibarra told TheWrap the show would be following after Week 2
Next, it was time for panelists Jenny McCarthy, Nicole Scherzinger, Ken Jeong and Robin Thicke and guest panelist Joel McHale, along with the studio audience, to choose which member of the group was the “weakest performer,” who would then be eliminated and unmasked. And that ended up being poor Poodle.

Jillian Michaels — who lost her home in Malibu’s Woolsey fire — sent a letter on PETA's behalf asking Malibu Wine Safaris to transfer Stanley the giraffe to a reputable facility, noting that the roadside zoo doesn’t meet his complex needs and can’t ensure his protection during fires, which have become a regular occurrence in Malibu.
“I experienced firsthand just how dangerous the Woolsey fire was to all Malibu residents, as I lost my home to it. But what I’m focused on now is Stanley’s plight,” wrote Jillian. "Stanley was left alone in the fire and, as you said yourself, he was distraught. With thousands more dogs facing an uncertain future after last week’s vote to ban greyhound racing in Florida, Grace and Frankie star Lily Tomlin sent a letter on PETA's behalf to the head of the National Greyhound Association (Nga) urging him to ensure that unwanted greyhounds are adopted into loving homes and not funneled into blood banks and sham rescue facilities.
In the letter, Tomlin notes that although the Nga purportedly barred its members from directly sending greyhounds to canine blood banks, the dogs still end up at seedy warehouses such as Hemopet, where they’re confined to tiny crates and barren kennels for up to 23 hours a day for 18 months or more, as was revealed in PETA’s recent eyewitness exposé.

Vegan stars and influencers Evanna Lynch, Mya, Daniella Monet, Harley Quinn Smith, Cammie Scott, Yovana Mendoza, Jenné Claiborne, and Renee Olstead have teamed up with PETA and Meg and Komie Vora of Los Angeles womenswear brand Delikate Rayne for a new vegan fashion campaign that urges both consumers and businesses to consider the animals who are exploited and killed for fashion — and change the game.
The campaign features a new video in which the women share the reasons why they choose vegan leather, faux fur, wool-free knits, and other animal-friendly fabrics — and why they encourage their combined 8 million followers to do the same. The campaign also includes a limited-edition PETA x Delikate Rayne faux-suede cap, 20 percent of the proceeds of which will go toward PETA’s lifesaving work for animals.
R&B singer Mýa says, “The true test of any nation is how it treats its innocent beings, and animals obviously fall into the category.
