Gravitas Ventures has acquired U.S. and Canadian rights to the religious horror film “Inhabitants” from Brick Lane Entertainment. Written and directed by Matt McClung (“The Mad Whale”), Gravitas plans to release the film on digital and video on demand in February 2025.

Gravitas Ventures acquired U.S. and Canadian distribution rights to Lou Simon’s crime thriller, “9 Windows,” the indie distributor announced Friday.

The first-of-its-kind all-virtual production from producers Bryce Dicristofalo and Todd Slater of Brick Lane Entertainment is a modern day retelling of Alfred Hitchcock’s 1954 classic “Rear Window.”

“9 Windows” is the first ever feature-length, live action film shot entirely on an extended reality film stage. It stars Independent Spirit Award nominee Michael Forsythe and Michael Paré.

Gravitas is slated to release the film on digital and cable VOD on Oct. 15.

It's always a good day when there's an announcement about a new horror movie being made. Bloody Mary: Origins is said to be a new take on the classic urban legend of Bloody Mary. In the realm of horror, Bloody Mary refers to a legendary spirit believed to appear in mirrors when her name is repeatedly chanted. She's often depicted as a woman with a bloody and disfigured face. When summoned, there could be dire consequences for the summoner, such as the possibility of being cursed, physically harmed, or worse, by the evil spirit.

This is Stancari’s first produced film and will be dedicated to his memory. The story follows a group of teenage girls who discover an ancient spell that conjures the real Bloody Mary. When the terrifying entity pulls one of the girls through the mirror, she becomes trapped in the past, living out the real Mary Worth’s last days.

Bella DeLong (“The Winchesters”) and Amber Janea (“A Predator Returns”) have been cast in Andy Fickman’s upcoming horror feature “Blue Light.”

Daryl Tofa (“Two-Bit”), Ana Zambrana (“La Traición en la Amistad”), Crystal Lake Evans (“Hightown”), Jarrett Brown (“Colin in Black and White”), John Bucy (“Frasier”) and Finley Rose Slater (“Playing with Fire”) round out the cast.

“Race to Witch Mountain” helmer Fickman directs the film, which “follows a group of friends on a road trip who soon realize something terrifying and unworldly is threatening their lives.” It is apparently based on “true and and terrifying unexplained events.”

The feature, which is set to premiere at AFM, has already sold to Germany (Lighthouse Home Entertainment), India (VR Films and Studios), the Middle East (Eagle Films Middle East) and Poland (Media4Fun). Film Mode Entertainment are repping global rights.

Fickman produces alongside Todd Slater, Grant Slater, Betsy Sullenger, Scott Prisand, Katie Leary and Michael Speyer.

Exclusive: Todd Slater of Convoke Media and Brandon Evans of Brick Lane Pictures have launched Brick Lane Entertainment. The production, sales and financing partnership based in LA and Dublin will be taking When We Collided, starring Laura Marano and directed by her sister Vanessa, to AFM.

Brick Lane will co-produce alongside Laura, Vanessa and Ellen Marano’s Calabrian Rhode Productions. Christina Mengert wrote the screenplay based on the 2016 Emery Lord novel.

The film is scheduled to begin production in Ireland next spring.

Laura Marano is the actor and successful singer-songwriter launched by the wildly popular Disney Channel series Austin & Ally. Vanessa Marano’s acting credits includes Switched At Birth, How To Deter A Robber and Gilmore Girls.

The 1970s-set supernatural horror film The Sacrifice Game, the new film from The Ranger (you can read my 8/10 review Here) director Jenn Wexler, won the gold in the Best Canadian Feature category at the Fantasia International Film Festival back in August. More genre fans are going to have their chance to see the movie in just a couple months, as it has been announced that The Sacrifice Game is going to be released through the Shudder streaming service on December 8th!

Olivia Scott Welch of the Fear Street trilogy stars in the film alongside Mena Massoud (Aladdin), Gus Kenworthy (American Horror Story: 1984), Chloë Levine (The Oa), Derek Johns (The Wolf and the Lion), Laurent Pitre (Under the Banner of Heaven), Madison Baines (1Up), and newcomer Georgia Acken.

The Ranger director Jenn Wexler will be raising hell this Christmas with ’70s set supernatural horror movie The Sacrifice Game, and Shudder’s unveiled a stunning new poster by Chris Barnes to prove it.

The Sacrifice Game will world premiere at the Fantasia International Film Festival on July 28 and will launch later this year on Shudder.

A few years ago, I had a lot of fun watching Jenn Wexler’s feature directorial debut The Ranger (you can read my 8/10 review Here), so I’m looking forward to checking out Wexler’s second feature, the 1970s-set supernatural horror film The Sacrifice Game. Attendees of the Fantasia International Film Festival will have the chance to watch the movie this Friday (at 9:30pm) – and in anticipation of the film’s festival premiere, a poster has been unveiled! XYZ Films has just picked up domestic rights to the horror movie The Deep Web: Murdershow in the wake of the Cannes Film Market, Variety has announced this morning.

The horror movie’s cast includes Josh Blacker, Aiden Howard, and Kimi Alexander.

The Deep Web: Murdershow was produced by Hadron Features with Miles Forster and Darci MacDonald. It was produced in association with Convoke Media, and executive produced by Chris Wilkinson, Ryan Marchant, Miles Forster, Kevin Zhao, Michelle Wu, and Todd Slater.

XYZ Films has acquired domestic rights to “The Deep Web: Murdershow,” a new horror-thriller with a bloody bitcoin twist. The deal arrives on the heels of the Cannes Film Market.

The film is written and directed by Dan Zachary, and according to the official description, it “takes viewers on a dark ride when a journalist’s search for clues to his sister’s murder leads him to a disturbing crypto currency torture website inside the deep web called The Murdershow. As those close to him disappear, he must find and stop this reign of terror.”

Josh Blacker leads the cast, playing a detective trying to unravel the mystery. He’s joined by Aiden Howard as a hard-charging reporter, as well as Kimi Alexander, playing a woman ensnared by the murderous group behind the shadowy site.

“The Deep Web: Murdershow” was produced by Vancouver-based production company, Hadron Features with Darci MacDonald and Miles Forster.

“My whole life I have been fascinated by horror and sci-fi films,” Fickman tells us. “When I was growing up in Texas, my buddies and I went opening night for every horror film and would return multiple times over the weekend.
