Samuel López, a true Malagueño at heart, originally from Madrid, is deeply rooted in the vibrant spirit of Málaga, particularly Marbella. Growing up in this sun-soaked coastal haven, he became an integral part of a closely-knit family, sharing bonds with sisters (Sandra and Tamara) and a younger brother (Manuel).
Completing his Drama degree in 2017 from ESAD Málaga, the same institution where legendary actor Antonio Banderas also honed his craft, Samuel journeyed to Madrid to further refine his acting skills. His passion for the arts led him to delve into film creation at MADS (Madrid Audiovisual Drama School), where he was a pioneering member of the Actor Creators program affiliated with ESCAC, an esteemed institution known for nurturing emerging cinematic talents.
Emerging from his academic pursuits, Samuel's acting career flourished, gracing numerous television series and films. In 2020, he brought his original idea to life by producing and starring in his debut short film, 'Typical Spanish', showcasing not only his acting prowess but also his creative talents. The following year, his second short film, '#chupateunpie', made him a finalist at the prestigious Notodofilmfest festival. In 2022, 'Toxic Positivity' (Positividad Tóxica), his third short film, achieved an impressive 35 selections across various festivals, with three being qualifying festivals for the esteemed Goya Awards.
As 2023 unfolds, Samuel's journey takes an exhilarating turn as his project 'Positividad Tóxica' (Toxic Positivity) transforms into a series. Collaborating with fellow Marbella native Pedro Rudolphi, they've emerged as the driving force behind the burgeoning film production enterprise, Alpha Productions. This visionary project has earned its well-deserved spot among over 200 projects within the distinguished Opera Prima Lab at ESCAC, underscoring its innovation, potential, and Samuel's role as a dynamic producer.
Notably, their project stands selected for inclusion in Ventana CineMad and has garnered prestigious recognition through Sony Pictures' participation at IBERSERIES & Platinoindustria.
