Jonah (@JonahPlatt) is a multi-platform creator and performer whose unique career spans many facets of the entertainment industry. As an actor, Jonah has appeared in prestigious projects from stage to screen, such as Broadway's smash hit WICKED, HAIR at the Hollywood Bowl, Aaron Sorkin's BEING THE RICARDOS, Darren Starr's newest comedy series UNCOUPLED, Universal Pictures' THE LIST, and most recently as the critically lauded star of THE ENGAGEMENT PARTY at the Geffen Playhouse, directed by Tony-winner Darko Tresnjak. In 2024, he'll be seen in YOU'RE DATING A NARCISSIST starring Marisa Tomei, SPREAD starring Harvey Keitel, and heard as a voice actor on Dreamworks' MONSTERWHEELIES, Fox's HOAGIE BROS, and classic kids' series RUGRATS.
As a writer, Jonah is the only person in Hollywood to have worked in writers' rooms under Greg Daniels, Mike Schur, Mitch Hurwitz and Seth MacFarlane. He has also written for NBC's MR. ROBINSON, Fuse's BILLY ON THE STREET, and Cartoon Network's ANNOYING ORANGE series. He most recently sold an adult animated TV series to Apple+, and is penning the lyrics and co-writing the music for the musical stage adaptation of bestselling classic THE GIVER. An an award-winning director of theater and improv comedy, he is also producing his first feature, a contemporary Jewish story called THE MENSCH.
Jonah is also an accomplished musician, singer, and award-winning vocal arranger, who has performed at concerts, galas, and classic venues all over the country. His "Graduation Medley", which he arranged, orchestrated and sang, was simulcast live across the globe on every major network for LeBron James' GRADUATE TOGETHER special in spring 2020. His recorded performances have millions of views on Youtube and hundreds of thousands of plays on Spotify.
Jonah is also a highly engaged advocate for the Jewish community who uses his voice and platform (130k+ Followers) to empower, educate, and explore issues affecting the community both at home and abroad. He has been quoted in numerous major media publications such as the New York Post, LA Magazine, the Jewish Journal, Hey Alma, and The Forward. He is also a sought-after speaker and influencer, leading panels, emceeing galas, appearing on podcasts, and giving keynote addresses for numerous Jewish organizations such as StandWithUs, Israel on Campus Coalition, Los Angeles Museum of the Holocaust, and Jewish Federations of North America. He's a graduate of JFed's Community Leadership Institute and New Leaders Project, the ADL's Glass Leadership Institute, and Israel Policy Forum's Bronfman Conveners. He sits on the board of directors of 70 Faces Media (Jewish Telegraph Agency, My Jewish Learning, etc.), is an Advisory Board Member of American Jewish University's Maas Center for Jewish Journeys, is an associate of the Tel Aviv Institute, and a board member/artistic advisor for social justice arts organization The In[HEIR]itance Theater Project. He has been a Big in Jewish Big Brothers Big Sisters for 8 years, and has sponsored the Jonah Platt Speaker Series through the Broad Center of Regenerative Medicine at UCSF for over a decade.
