Tom Hardy isn’t one to do things by halves.
From Bronson to Fury Road to The Dark Knight Rises, the British thesp is known and loved for his raw, downright mesmerizing performances. And it looks like Venom is about to up the ante.
Pegged to arrive in 2018, the Ruben Fleischer-directed spinoff has officially entered production in Atlanta, after leaked set photos brought us closer to Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock and his humble abode. Filming will likely continue into the new year, but we’re now learning that part of Hardy’s intense fitness regime involves a bout of Mma (Mixed Martial Arts) training, which ought to please those hoping for a more physical, hardboiled movie than Marvel’s Spider-Man films.
In fact, while discussing Tom Hardy’s fitness plan in a new documentary, trainers Nathan Jones and Mark Mene heaped praise on the British actor, before warning...

Welcome back to another edition of Fantasy Fridays here at Lrm, where two real-life best friends put their heads together and pretend to be studio execs as they try to cast and hire other pertinent talent for upcoming geek properties.

This week, we turn our attention towards Green Lantern Corps, since there were recent developments on that front recently. The film recently snagged David S. Goyer (The Dark Knight, Blade) and Justin Rhodes (Grassroots) to write the script, with DC Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns producing and overseeing the project. There's also been talk that it'll have a sort of Lethal Weapon vibe to it, and that it'll sort of base itself off of the Sinestro Corps Wars.

The team of Flying Jatt indeed had a ‘super’ fun trailer launch at Mumbai’s Infiniti Mall in Malad.
While they unveiled the first trailer amidst media in a much dramatic style and even amazed everyone with their antics, the high point was when the lead stars Tiger Shroff, Jacqueline Fernandez, international star Nathan Jones, producer Ekta Kapoor and director Remo D’souza stepped into the mall’s amusement zone – Planet Infiniti – to enjoy the fun rides with school children.
Looking at the excitement of Flying Jatt team, it appeared they relived their childhood moment! While Jacqueline was seen super thrilled like a kiddo, Nathan stood aside and screamed as the rides started to up the excitement level!
The entire team indeed had a ‘fun n frolicking’ time at the city’s most happening mall!

When it comes to making features like this one, i love the idea of coming up with my own personal “100 Great Kung Fu Movies” of all time. It is tough choosing just 100 because you know there are many more great Kung Fu movies that are not on the list.
I have decided that to make the list, a movie must have a few hand to hand moments during fight scenes in the movies chosen. If for example its mainly sword play with one fight scene hand to hand it won’t make the list. Its old school “style” Kung Fu movies, not modern day settings.
I understand everyone will have their own personal favorites and some may not agree with my list and that’s fine because it’s nice to have different opinions on this genre which keeps it fresh and alive when having good debates.
Anyway, thank you...

Tom Hardy steering for the Croisette in Mad Max Fury Road
Filmmaker George Miller gears up for another post-apocalyptic action adventure with Fury Road, the fourth outing in the Mad Max series which will have a special out of competition slot at the Cannes Film Festival.
The screening on Thursday 14 May at the Grand Théâtre Lumière marks return after a gap of 30 years for the hero of the legendary saga, this time played by Tom Hardy (The Dark Knight Rises) taking over from Mel Gibson. The rest of the cast includes Charlize Theron, Megan Gale, John Howard and Nathan Jones.
It is set in the furthest reaches of the planet, in a stark desert landscape where humanity is broken and almost everyone is crazed and fighting for the necessities of life. Within this world of fire and blood exist two rebels on the run who just might be able to restore order – Max,...

Androids, magic, parallel worlds, ghostly crime, and the apocalypse. Here’s a raft of new forthcoming UK sci-fi and fantasy TV…
The superhero genre may be taking up residence in cinemas for the foreseeable, and Game Of Thrones and The Walking Dead are leading Us TV's genre output, but what can fans of UK sci-fi and fantasy look forward to seeing on television over the next year?
There’s Doctor Who of course, which appears to be in rude health and going nowhere, a Christmas Special from Black Mirror, and a hint of new Red Dwarf on its way. (And of course, if there’s anything like justice in the world, the terrific In The Flesh will be recommissioned for a third series.)
If though, you’re thirsting for something new, 2015 is promising to deliver a handful of geek TV gems. We’ve scoured the new UK commission announcements for anything spooky,...

One of the perennial questions that wrestling fans will debate over and over is not who screwed Bret, or whether Cm Punk’s coming back, or whether Triple H is still lawful evil or more of a neutral good these days… no, it’s the much more basic question of ‘work’.
That’s ‘work’ as in the verb, not the noun: the physical business of actually working the match. While all of professional wrestling is a work, and all pro wrestlers are workers, some work more often and harder than others – that’s a given. The question is, what constitutes hard work? And, more to the point: although most people can agree on who the best workers in the business are, exactly who is it that can’t work? Who are the worst workers in professional wrestling?
With its emphasis on story and a continuing, evolving narrative – a wrestling Universe,...

It’s a question he’s been asked before: Would you considering being the next James Bond? But while he skirted around the question back in 2012 — saying “it’s too late now” — when a Reddit user posed the question again on Friday during an extensive Ama, he seemed a bit more enthusiastic. In fact, he seemed to get downright giddy at the thought of it, urging everyone to start a “Denzel is Bond” campaign stat.

This year’s San Diego Comic-Con is almost upon us, and following the release of the first poster for The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies (which you can check out by clicking here), we now have brand new posters for Mad Max: Fury Road and The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 made specifically for the event.
The tone is set nicely in the poster for George Miller’s highly anticipated Mad Max sequel/reboot as it shows Tom Hardy’s titular character standing by as an impending onslaught of wastlelanders head in his direction. The tagline is the rather brilliant and somewhat ironic: “What a Lovely Day”.
The cast of Mad Max: Fury Road also includes Charlize Theron, Nicholas Hoult, Riley Keough, Zoe Kravitz, Courtney Eaton, Rosei Huntington-Whiteley, Hugh Keays-Byrne, Nathan Jones, and Abbey Lee Kershaw. After years of delays, it’s currently set to be released on May 15th,...

The eyes of the entire world are currently fixed onto the action in Brazil as the FIFA World Cup takes place this month. With it come lots of spin-offs, such as tenuously linked food items where miniature chocolates become a team or a crisp flavour suddenly represents a team. But what if the World Cup translated into wrestling? It’s time to put your Fantasy Wrestling hat on and pick up your country’s flag as we travel the world looking at the best wrestlers to have ever come from some of the countries that are currently playing in the World Cup.
There are only three criteria that I have used in my selection: firstly, they must have competed at some point in the WWE; secondly, the wrestler must legitimately have come from the listed country. This immediately ruled out all manner of heel Russians from the 70s...

On October 19, 1999, World Wrestling Entertainment became a publicly traded company on the New York Stock Exchange. Their initial public offering sold enough shares to ultimately make Mr. McMahon, at that point, the chairman of a billion-dollar company. However, as WWE’s stock price plummeted, so did his billionaire status.
But, with recent launches of the WWE Network, as well as capital investments in online promotion, mobile apps and talent development yielding dividends, Forbes Magazine – for the first time ever – recently listed Vince McMahon as being worth $1.2 billion. In examining the moves that took McMahon to taking his company to billion dollar status, and now himself into the billionaire’s club, there are valuable lessons that any 21st century entrepreneur can use in order to match Mr. McMahon’s ultra-rich status.

It was quite the week in professional wrestling, we had a beloved cartoon figure show up on Raw and go over Damien Sandow, we received a special visit from the star of Twins and Jingle All the Way and we had the most popular wrestler on the roster, and the probable WrestleMania main-eventer staying at home. Seems like a few odd choices, but hey, what do I know? Maybe devoting 45 minutes of TV time this week to Triple H and Stephanie is what’s best for business.
Time is running out, and WWE is fumbling badly on its run to WrestleMania. Did Vince McMahon forget when the show airs? Meanwhile Tna actually had one of their best episodes in months, but that’s really not saying too much. This may sound negative, but hey, this is about the worst of the week, so let’s take a look...

There are quite a few ways to introduce a new wrestler. You could go the route of Brock Lesnar or The Shield, and have them interrupt a match and destroy every competitor in the ring. It’s certainly proved to be effective. Or you could show up on Nxt and gradually transition your way onto the main roster like Emma or Big E. But perhaps the most exciting and memorable way to make an impact is with a series of intriguing video vignettes to hype their arrival. This method builds anticipation for when the talent debuts, and gives fans a glimpse into what their character is all about. It allows time to to imagine just how good the wrestler will be, and how they’ll stack up against current superstars.

The name Vincent Kennedy McMahon will surely go down in history as the man who changed professional wrestling forever. Undoubtedly, the man will be remembered as one of the greatest promoters of all time, not just within the wrestling industry, but in all of combat sports and show business as a whole, with his modern counterpart/rival Dana White picking him as one of the best.
McMahon has always been a divisive figure, with some hardcore aficionados claiming what he promotes is no longer truly wrestling, but now sports entertainment, a term which the WWE themselves coined. It cannot be argued however, the great success that McMahon has achieved within this field. Since the acquisition of his Father’s business in 1982, Vince has built stars and created moments that will last forever, he’s staved off competition and prospered through boom periods.

Elaine Stritch isn't just a Broadway star, a veteran of TV and film, a brand new Tweeter, or a self-proclaimed "hat aficionado." She's also now one of the illustrious people to have snuck in an expletitive on live television before the network producers could bleep it out. And before noon Est, no less! Stritch was on The Today Show with Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb this morning to promote her documentary "Elaine Stritch: Shoot Me" when she let slip the f-word. She was all decked out in fabulously giant glasses and a matching fur coat and hat, along with white tennies that she had resting on Kathie Lee's lap. At the risk of contributing to the increasingly meaninglessness of superlatives, it was pretty much the best thing that's happened all week. (Mercury is in retrograde, you know.)

To celebrate their 13th anniversary this year, the Melbourne Underground Film Festival is going green!
No, they’re not out to save the kookaburra or anything. Instead, they’re hosting a special tribute to the New Irish Low Budget Cinema, featuring two films by acclaimed filmmaker Ivan Kavanagh, plus work by Colin Downey, Gary Kenneally and Gerard Lough.
Muff will host a repeat screening of Kavanagh’s celebrated thriller Tin Can Man — it previously screened at Muff in 2008 — as well as his latest film, The Fading Light. The three other Irish films screening all fall into the horror/thriller genres, from Downey’s The Looking Glass to Kenneally’s Stephen King adaptation The Boogeyman and Lough’s trilogy-ending The Shaken 3. And, in addition, the entire fest kicks off with the opening night Irish thriller Charlie Casanova by Terry McMahon.

In addition to being incredibly action-packed, the world of The Road Warrior has always been a little bit loopy. The plot details of the long-in-development-hell, fourth film in the post-apocalyptic Aussie franchise have finally been announced by Mad Max creator and director George Miller, employing some creatively named characters and nicely incorporating the term "word burgers" in the logline.
