James' music can be heard across a wide range of formats including major studio pictures, independent film, online series and pop music.
Recent composing work includes original music for 'Catching Killers' (Netflix) / 'Mars: One Day On The Red Planet' (National Geographic) / 'How To Rob A Bank' (Viceland) / 'The Sidemen Show' (YouTube Original) / 'Feral Families' (C4) / 'London Symphony' (nominated for Best British Feature at EIFF) / 'The Patrol' (winner of Raindance Film Festival) / 'Scrappers' and 'Don't Look Down' (C4). In 2009 James wrote the music for 'Tronji', a 30 episode Children's TV series for the BBC (Ragdoll).
James' professional career began as an assistant to film composer Dario Marianelli and film composer Patrick Doyle. Orchestration work soon followed and he has been lucky enough to work with composers including Eric Neveux, Gabriel Yared, Geoff Zanelli, Klaus Badelt, Gustavo Santaolalla & Rupert Gregson Williams. Pop artists that James has arranged/orchestrated for include, Ronan Keating, Martha Wainwright, Jeff Beck, Bee Gees, Simple Minds, Melanie C, Pavarotti and Simply Red to name just a few.
