Sharon Scott is Executive Vice President of Category 6 Media, a newly launched independent production company based at A+E Networks in New York, where Sharon serves as an executive focusing on high stakes programming and overseeing program development and production for internal and external buyers.
Scott joined A+E Networks as the head of Category 6 Media in 2020. Prior to joining A+E Networks, she spent 27 years at NBCUniversal where she held positions focused on non-fiction programming. Scott was President and General Manager of Peacock Productions, a division of NBC News specializing in non-scripted programming, for 11 years. Under Sharon's direction, Peacock Productions produced multiple series and specials across NBCUniversal's platforms and in partnership with 25+ outside clients and global partners.
Before founding Peacock, she was Executive Producer and General Manager of NBC News Productions and NBC Media Productions. She was a member of the executive team at "Dateline" for 10 years and for "Now, with Tome Brokaw and Katie Couric" for the Magazine show's duration. Scott was also on the board of The Weather Company and served as the executive liaison between NBC News and The Weather Channel, with oversight of all live and long-form programming at the network.
Scott's honors include a number of national news Emmy awards in addition to a George Foster Peabody award, an Alfred I. duPont award, and an Edward R. Murrow award for coverage of Hurricane Andrew.
