[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Ghosts Season 4, Episode 1, “Patience.”] Ghosts finally revealed its latest Woodstone resident in the Season 4 premiere episode, “Patience,” which introduced the titular Puritan spirit determined to exact revenge on Isaac (Brandon Scott Jones) after he abandoned her in the dirt surrounding the property hundreds of years ago. In the Season 3 finale, after his almost-wedding to Nigel (John Hartman), Isaac was lured into the basement by the cholera ghosts, who served him up to Patience, who pulled him into the dirt. Securing him in the cavern she dwells in underground, Patience is looking for answers regarding her abandonment so many years ago. Philippe Bosse/CBS Planning to hold Isaac there so she isn’t alone, Patience is borderline feral as she mutters her name over and over again. When Isaac indicates that staying underground would make him miss his friends in hopes of swaying her to return him to the mansion, Patience...

You might say there’s a haunting pattern when it comes to season finales of Ghosts, the hit CBS series that serves you emotions with a side of morbid humor: in last May’s third season cliffhanger, a spirit from Woodstone Manor abruptly disappeared from the property. Thankfully, fans won’t have to spend too much more time wondering what happened to Revolutionary Isaac Higgintoot (Brandon Scott Jones) after he broke off his wedding with Nigel (John Hartman) and was pulled into the dirt by his old friend Patience — the ghost who still holds a grudge from Isaac leaving her underground in the 1800s. “We’re going to find out what her plans with Isaac are. We’re going to deal with that in the beginning,” promises showrunner Joe Wiseman, indicating that we’ll be seeing a lot more of the Puritan ghost played by The Big Door Prize’s Mary Holland.

Twenty years ago, at the end of the 2003-04 TV season, audiences said goodbye to our dear “Friends.”
Rachel, Ross, Monica, Chandler, Phoebe and Joey left us to go on with their lives outside of the confines of a couple of apartments and a coffee shop. Audiences were left without the comfort of tuning in each Thursday to see them talk endlessly about the past and present, if not always the future.
Every one of the characters on David Crane and Marta Kauffman’s NBC sitcom knew, at least eventually, everything about the others’ lives. Everyone lived together, vacationed together and frequently dated each other. They’d spend hours on an overstuffed orange couch sipping lattes and chatting like they had nowhere else to be. It was how the audience (both the other characters and the real ones watching at home) reacted to those stories that made them feel like a chosen family.

The Ghosts season 3 finale left fans on yet another cliffhanger. This is the third time writers have wrapped up a season and left fans with a lot of questions, and each cliffhanger appears to be getting more dramatic. In season 2, fans were left to question if one of their beloved spirits had been “sucked off.” Season 3 ended with Captain Isaac Higgintoot being taken by a spirit he had wronged many years earlier. With Isaac missing, fans are left to wonder if he will ever return. Brandon Scott Jones, the actor who plays the role of the Revolutionary War spirit, is confident fans have not seen the last of him.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Ghosts Season 3 Finale, “Isaac’s Wedding.”] Ghosts held a very special wedding in its Season 3 finale episode, aptly titled “Isaac’s Wedding,” but fans were in for a big surprise when Isaac (Brandon Scott Jones) couldn’t go through with his nuptials to Nigel (John Hartman), and that wasn’t even the most shocking moment. While Isaac experiences a touch of cold feet due to the presence of living stripper and DJ Chris (Deniz Akdeniz), he seems to be swayed back to the idea of marriage until Pete (Richie Moriarty) returns from his St. Lucia getaway sharing his feelings of love for a ghost named Donna (Allegra Edwards) that he met while there. Realizing that he doesn’t feel this way about Nigel, Isaac decides to step back from the impending marriage, leaving Carol (Caroline Aaron) of all ghosts to pick up the leftovers and get married to a bayonetted red coat.

Whether it’s his odor or his sneezes, Ghosts’ Isaac Higgintoot is all about the nose. Brandon Scott Jones’ Revolutionary War ghost on the CBS comedy died of dysentery. The smell followed him into the afterlife and serves as the special “power” he can inflict upon others who dwell at the show’s central estate, Woodstone Manor. It’s one of many things Isaac’s love interest Nigel Chessum (John Hartman) was able to overlook about him.
Another is that Nigel is dead because Isaac accidentally shot the British soldier when he sneezed whilst holding a rifle. And then there’s Isaac’s most recent offense of leaving Nigel on their wedding day during the show’s third season finale, “Isaac’s Wedding.” But apparently the Brit was cool with this, even if he did call Isaac a “yankee” a lot. Or at least this is the story that Isaac told everyone,...

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Ghosts Season 3, Episode 3, “He Sees Dead People.”] A new episode of Ghosts means another step closer to the altar for future spirit spouses, Isaac (Brandon Scott Jones) and Nigel (John Hartman). The former Revolutionary battlefield foes who became engaged in Season 2 took another step forward, and perhaps a few steps back as Hetty (Rebecca Wisocky) offered to help serve as their wedding planner. But her good intentions cause a little chaos as she projects her past experiences onto the couple. (Credit: CBS) In a flashback to her life, we learn that Hetty was forced by her father to abandon a potential romance with a painter for fear of being financially unstable. When the topic of money comes up between Isaac and Nigel, with the latter referring to the funds as “their money,” Hetty points out to Isaac that it isn’t the case and suggests her friend put a prenup in place.

Spoiler Alert: Do not read ahead if you have not watched Season 3, Episode 2 of “Ghosts,” titled “Man of Your Dreams,” which aired Feb. 22 on CBS.
“Ghosts” just revealed a game changer of a storyline that could help give Jay (Utkarsh Ambudkar) more interaction with the show’s spirits. In the Season 3, Episode 2 installment “Man of Your Dreams,” viewers discovered the ghost power that Sasappis (Román Zaragoza) has been harboring: The ability to enter the dreams of the living.
In the episode, Sasappis decides to use his previously undisclosed ghost power — the ability to enter the livings’ dreams — to convince Jay to add a wood-burning pizza oven to the restaurant he’s planning for the B&b. It works, and soon Sasappis is entering those dreams for other means, and Jay figures it out.

Spoiler Alert: Do not read ahead if you have not watched the Season 3 premiere of “Ghosts,” titled “The Owl,” which aired Feb. 15 on CBS.
Flower, hopefully you’re finally getting to cuddle a few bears up there in the sky. Yes, you read that right: There’s one less ghost on “Ghosts,” as the characters said farewell to Flower on the Season 3 premiere of CBS’ hit comedy.
The series finally returned on Thursday (after a long strikes-induced delay), and we learned which spirit had been finally sent to the afterlife. After a few fakeouts, the ghosts discovered that it was Flower (Sheila Carrasco) who was “sucked off” in the Season 2 finale, as witnessed by Sam (Rose McIver) and Jay (Utkarsh Ambudkar).
Flower is the 1960s-era hippie who died trying to hug a bear while high on acid, and remained a bit forgetful and drugged-out while living in the purgatory that is Woodstone Mansion.

Fans of CBS’s Ghosts won’t have to wait much longer to learn the fate of their favorite Woodstone Mansion spirits. The season 3 premiere of Ghosts is set to air on Feb. 15. The show’s writers don’t plan on holding off on revealing which spirit was “sucked off” in the season 2 finale for too long. While the premiere is still a few weeks away, the released logline suggests that a main house ghost is unlikely to be the spirit to leave.
Season 2 of ‘Ghosts’ ended on a major cliffhanger
The SAG-AFTRA strike pushed back the return date of many beloved TV shows. Ghosts fans were extra bummed about the delay because their series ended on a major cliffhanger. In the season 2 finale, Sam watches a bright light take a spirit from Woodstone Mansion off to heaven. The episode ended before Sam, Jay, and the viewers learned which ghost had moved on.

Season two of CBS’s popular half-hour comedy Ghosts ended on a cliffhanger that left fans speculating as to the identity of the ghost who has moved on. Sam watched (and described to Jay) from the driveway of the Woodstone Mansion Bed & Breakfast as one of the ghosts got “sucked off” – the unfortunate term used by the dearly departed to indicate one has finally left Earth and is a ghost no more.

Reluctant for reasons revealed in the episode, Isaac carried guilt for hundreds of years regarding his wife. He believed she resented him for ruining her life, considering his sexuality, and so he had reservations about deepening his relationship with Nigel. Ultimately, Sasappis (Román Zaragoza) dispels this theory Isaac had about his wife, recalling that when he was on his deathbed, she came to visit and make sure he was changed into his uniform before dying. The relief and understanding that Isaac’s wife cared for him despite their imperfect marriage, reassures...

This week’s episode of Ghosts is a reminder that the series is at its heart a love letter to the original BBC Ghosts series.
Isaac (Brandon Scott Jones) and Nigel (John Hartman)’s conflict this week also reminds the audience that our common histories outweigh our cultural and political differences. Sam (Rose McIver) informs both of them that the bitter divide between the American colonists and the British was left behind after the Revolutionary War. In a way, their conflict is also a reminder to the fandom that there’s plenty of room to appreciate both series of Ghosts.
While Issac and Nigel debate the merits of the Stamp Act, a documentary television crew from the in-universe series “Dumb Deaths” wants to highlight Pete’s (Richie Moriarty) archery accident. Sam and Jay agree to the film crew taking over Woodstone Manor...

Ghosts Season 2 Episode 1
CBS’s Ghosts kicks off its second season of supernatural comedic shenanigans right where the series left off in May. Woodstone Manor is finally open as a bed and breakfast but the floor collapse has left a bad impression on the first guests. Sam (Rose McIver) and Jay (Utkarsh Ambudkar) now have to balance guest relations with accommodating the building’s ghostly inhabitants.
The episode begins right after the structural collapse with Jay recovering from the fall. He’s hoping his accident will help him see the ghosts. He can sort of see and hear Pete (Ritchie Moriarty) briefly but cannot hear the ghosts talking to each other. Are the powers tied to concussion-related trauma?
After the floor collapse, the B&b has only 1 star on Yelp. Sam is eager to prevent ghost shenanigans or any mistakes from ruining their stay. Hetty...

The Doobie Brothers paid tribute to their co-founder and “wild spirit” drummer John Hartman on Thursday (Sept. 22) in a post announcing the 72-year-old rock veteran’s death. “Today we are thinking of John Hartman, or Little John to us,” read a social statement from the group. “John was a wild spirit, great drummer, and showman during his time in the Doobies.”
At press time no additional information was available on when Hartman passed or his cause of death.
“He was also a close friend for many years and an intricate part of the band personality! We send our condolences to all his loved ones at this difficult time,” read the statement. Hartman moved to Northern California to join what was planned as a Moby Grape reunion with that band’s leader, Skip Spence, in 1969 that never materialized, according to a band bio.

After centuries—and an entire season of television—of silence, Isaac (Brandon Scott Jones) finally shared his truth on Ghosts. During the April 21 finale, Isaac, the ghost of an American Revolutionary War captain, thought that his longtime crush (and former war rival) Nigel (John Hartman) had been "sucked off." For the record, that's what the ghosts call ascending. But, as the episode came to a close, it was revealed that Nigel had not moved on, prompting Isaac to share his true feelings for the British specter. "Nigel, wait," Isaac said in front of his fellow ghosts. "I like you." A happy, but surprised Nigel responded, "You like...

(Warning: This post contains spoilers for the season finale of “Ghosts” on CBS.)
Season 1 of “Ghosts” came to an end on Thursday night with a touching finale, which offered some resolutions and also opened the floodgates for more mayhem in Season 2.
One of the characters who finally got some closure was Brandon Scott Jones’ Isaac, a Revolutionary War soldier who died over 250 years ago. Fans of the show will remember earlier in the season, when a flashback revealed that he had accidentally shot his “enemy” Nigel Chessum (John Hartman) across the battlefield while observing him through the scope on his rifle.
While their connection seems quite obvious, and Samantha (Rose McIver) encourages Isaac to tell Nigel how he truly feels, it doesn’t exactly go as planned. But their happy ending comes in due time when Isaac finally reveals his feelings for Nigel in the season finale.

Ghosts on CBS began this September with one of the riskiest and most experimental premises on US broadcast television this season.
The series is an American adaptation of the BBC UK sitcom of the same name. Many previous US remakes of UK sitcoms and dramas have not succeeded in the past. But through word of mouth and social media buzz, American audiences have fallen in love with the supernatural residents of Woodstone Manor and the show is now the most successful CBS sitcom in years, especially with Millennials and Gen X viewers. Since the first season finale wraps an intriguing cliffhanger in a heartwarming package, Den of Geek spoke to series executive producers Joe Port and Joe Wiseman for some inside Woodstone Manor information.

Though some of them have died millennia apart from one another, all of the core apparitional eight on Ghosts have something to learn from each other, as well as from the Livings.

With the Doobie’s Hall of Fame induction, there’s never been a better time to get familiar with the captains of Yacht Rock. Their heyday was basically the entire decade of the Seventies, though a major shift occurred when frontman Tom Johnston, who wrote the majority of their hits, stepped aside in 1975 to deal with a bleeding ulcer and other medical issues.

Twenty-nine different men have been in the Doobie Brothers during the past 50 years, but only one of them has been there the entire time: Patrick Simmons. And while Tom Johnston may be the face of the band and Michael McDonald the one that went on to huge success outside the group, Simmons is the songwriter and singer behind some of their most famous songs, including “Black Water.” He’s also a key part of the band’s signature harmonic blend.
