Michael Zaiko Hall is an American filmmaker and visual effects artist of Polish/Ukrainian descent. He has been honored with the prestigious Annie and Visual Effects Society awards.
He was mentored as a teen by Fellini's assistant, who introduced him to the experimental filmmaker Stan Brakhage and film critic Roger Ebert - who Michael subsequently watched and debated many films with.
Michael directed the experimental midnight movie Carrion - which despite its micro budget became a featured Hulu "Pick" and cult hit during the early months of the pandemic. He won Best Director at the Atlanta Horror Film Festival for his second film Hotel Dunsmuir - a genre-bending "supernatural road film".
His third film was the subversive noir comedy, Peter Five Eight starring Kevin Spacey, Jet Jandreau, Rebecca de Mornay and Jake Weber.
He's at work on an ambitious new film, to be announced soon.
