Former news anchor and reporter with all-news radio station 1010 WINS in New York from 1965 to 1982, except for a six-month period in 1970-71 when he was fired by the station after an overnight report on December 13, 1970 about the memoirs of
Nikita Khrushchev in which he quoted the former Soviet leader referring to
Richard Nixon as a 'son-of-a-bitch'; it led to an arbitration case whereupon he was ordered reinstated onto the air (effective June 18, 1971) with full back pay and no loss of seniority.
