Spencer McCurnin(I)
- Actor
- Writer
With over ten years of training and experience, Spencer has acted and written for the The Onion, Second City Of Chicago and has also created and co-produced independent pictures. Including The Thin Blu Line, which received a finalist award from The New York TV Festival for Comedy Central's Short Pilot Competition.
Spencer was classically trained at DePaul University Theater School and Columbia College. He spent his early acting career performing dramatic roles, such as The Pillowman, where he played the role Katurian, an author with a dark past and a twisted style of writing that caused him to be interrogated for murder. From there Spencer honed his acting and writing skills in comedy at the legendary iO theater and The Second City of Chicago.
Before leaving Chicago, Spencer co-created and co-hosted a monthly sketch show called The Radio Television Theater Hour. The talk show host format allowed Spencer to showcase his abstract style of comedy. His characters ranged from a childlike side kick, to a creepy southern pastor, to a Catman who dreamed of owning his own Italian Bistro someday.
Now in Los Angeles, Spencer is taking more classes, booking more gigs and working even harder to implement his style of acting and writing to a much larger audience.
