Ann Wu-Lai Parry is known for her work on several films and TV series, including: Snowpiercer (Netflix), Upload (Amazon), Away (Netflix), Alaska Daily (ABC),
The Predator (20th Century Fox), SIX on History, and Mistresses (Disney/ABC).
Before relocating to Vancouver, Ann worked as an Anchor, Producer, and Reporter for Shaw TV Saskatchewan. She enjoyed a fulfilling 5 years with a wonderful team, presenting local stories, promoting community events and raising awareness of charitable initiatives, from 2007 to 2012.
With a passion for the arts and a keen interest in business, Ann spent an enriching decade exploring academia. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre, and later completed her Bachelor of Commerce, in Marketing. Ann has studied at the University of Manitoba, Ryerson University and is a graduate of the University of Saskatchewan.
Her parents, Rosanna from Hong Kong and John from London, England, met in Northwestern Ontario. They were soon married, and lived in Sioux Lookout, Ontario where sisters Esther & Ann were born. John served as Mayor at the time and later went on to become a Member of Parliament. He spent most of his career working with the federal government. Rosanna was a well loved school teacher, photographer and dedicated community builder.
Always involved in the creative arts, Ann took on many extra curricular activities, hobbies and interests during her youth. Along with her sister, she dedicated many hours to crafting, sewing, painting and pursuing dance (jazz, ballet & hip hop) at a fairly competitive level.
In her teens, Ann signed with Panache Model Management in Winnipeg, MB and enjoyed many bookings as a model appearing in ad campaigns, catalogs and runway shows. Once the agency opened up an acting division, Ann began classes and was soon added to their roster. It was here that she began to work as an actress landing commercials and TV/film roles.
Ann's been fortunate to live and work in multiple Canadian cities: including Winnipeg, Toronto and Saskatoon. She has traveled extensively throughout North America and Europe and now calls Vancouver home.
The adventure continues, as West Coast living has provided Ann many new opportunities in both life & career. She looks forward to what's to come ...
