The nearly two-minute trailer for Paramount+’s critically acclaimed drama shows a war brewing, with the control of the town hanging in the balance.

The season two cast includes two-time Oscar winner Dianne Wiest as Miriam McLusky, Hugh Dillon as Ian, Taylor Handley as Kyle McLusky, Emma Laird as Iris, and Tobi Bamtefa as Deverin ‘Bunny’ Washington. Debuting exclusively on the streaming service in the U.S. and Canada on January 15, the drama starring Academy Award nominee Jeremy Renner continues to bring the issues of systemic racism, corruption, and inequality to the forefront.

From co-creator and Academy Award nominee Taylor Sheridan and Hugh Dillon, Mayor of Kingstown follows the McLusky family, power brokers in Kingstown, Michigan, where the business of incarceration is the only thriving industry. In the trailer for Season 2 of “Mayor of Kingstown,” which Paramount released on Wednesday, Mike McCluskey (Jeremy Renner) has an unorthodox plan to quell the chaos at the town’s prison after Season 1’s riot. The second season of the drama from Taylor Sheridan and Hugh Dillon debuts on Sunday, Jan. 15, on Paramount+ in the U.S. and Canada.

We don’t find out exactly what Mike’s plan is, but we do know it involves beatdowns and a pistol whipping. As he says in the clip, “When I say I’m going to do a thing, that thing gets done.”

Of course, that doesn’t go over well with everyone, as he’s told, “Inmates are running the asylum and you’re handing them the key.”

Paramount+’s critically acclaimed drama Mayor of Kingstown will kick off its second season on Sunday, January 15, 2023. The premiere date announcement was accompanied by a short teaser trailer for the new season starring two-time Oscar nominee Jeremy Renner as Mike McLusky.

The season two cast also includes two-time Oscar winner Dianne Wiest as Miriam McLusky, Hugh Dillon as Ian, Taylor Handley as Kyle McLusky, Emma Laird as Iris, and Tobi Bamtefa as Deverin ‘Bunny’ Washington. Derek Webster plays Stevie, Hamish Allan-Headley is Robert, Nishi Munshi is Tracy, and Aidan Gillen stars as Milo Sunter.

Taylor Sheridan is about to have four shows premiering in the span of three months. The insanely-prolific “Yellowstone” creator’s Paramount+ series “Mayor of Kingstown,” starring Jeremy Renner, will return for Season 2 on January 15, the streamer revealed on Tuesday.

Co-created by Sheridan and Hugh Dillon, “Mayor of Kingstown” is a crime drama focusing on the McLusky family, who act as power brokers between law enforcement and the crime world in the titular Michigan town, which houses seven large prisons. Renner leads the series’ cast as Mike, the middle McLusky brother and a former inmate who is forced to take over the family business following the death of the eldest son Mitch (Kyle Chandler). Shawn Ashmore, co-star of the X-Men movie franchise, and Valorie Curry, who has a part in the upcoming Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2, have joined the cast of Fox’s untitled Kevin Williamson drama pilot led by Kevin Bacon and James Purefoy. The project, from Warner Bros TV, is described as an edge-of-the-seat thriller about Joe Carroll (Purefoy) a diabolical serial killer who uses technology to create a cult of serial killers, and retired FBI profiler Ryan Hardy (Bacon) who finds himself in the middle of it. Ashmore, repped by Gersh and Paul Nicholls, will play a junior FBI agent who is part of the task force assisting Hardy in the search for Carroll. Curry, repped by Thruline, will play a young nanny who cares for Carroll’s son. Marcos Siega is directing the pilot. Michael Marc Friedman has been cast opposite Mike Vogel in Living Loaded, Fox’s single-camera...

Michael Friedman is quite possibly the Sly Stallone of web series. And if that’s the case then The Super Man is his Rocky. The Philly native, an actor-writer who now calls La home, is no stranger to the comparison, having worked a healthy adoration of the famed boxer into his self-portrayed lead character Mike, the Super of a East La apartment building. This is something Friedman knows all too well, having been a real-life building superintendent since moving out to La to pursue an acting career. Over a year ago, its four-part pilot hit the web standing out as one of the better indie web comedies that year. The positive reception was enough for Friedman and his team to head back into production on a full season of the series. The new season, which they are calling Season 2, premieres online tomorrow online with three new episodes every two weeks.
