Emanuele Pica is an internationally acclaimed director and producer, celebrated for his ability to bring bold and captivating stories to life. As of November 2024, Pica is spearheading two major projects: "Mossad - Commission of Inquiry", an espionage thriller based on the novel by award-winning writer and war reporter Michael Sfaradi, for which he has written the screenplay and is actively funding and casting as producer; and "Jack Clayborne", a Hollywood noir that he will direct and produce, with principal photography set for April 2025 in Connecticut.
Pica's recent successes include "The Box" (2024), a critically acclaimed claustrophobic horror/thriller starring Christy St. John, Bryan Scamman, and Chiyeko Jones, now available on Mometu. His 2022 feature-length thriller, "Stranger", starring Taylor Jabara and Jacob Taylor, is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video, Mometu, and Insvrgence. In 2021, he wrote and directed "The Golf Ball", an experimental short film inspired by a defining moment in his personal life.
Born and raised in Rome, Italy, Pica discovered his passion for filmmaking at an early age, turning to movies as an escape from personal challenges. By 20, he committed himself to a career in cinema, earning a B.A. in Film Studies from the University of Roma Tre in 2004. His career began as a script editor for the renowned Italian production company Fandango before relocating to Australia in 2007 to earn his M.F.A. at Griffith University.
In 2017, Pica moved to Los Angeles, where he began collaborating with some of Hollywood's most notable artists, including Kelly Rowland and Eric Bellinger. Over the years, he has built an impressive portfolio spanning feature films, documentaries, music videos, and commercials. He has earned multiple accolades, including Best Film at RIFF, one of Europe's most esteemed independent festivals.
