Shaaswat Saurrav is a self-made Indian actor who has carved a niche for himself in the film industry, rising from humble beginnings with no familial connections or godfather to guide his way. Born in Patna and brought up in Delhi. Shaaswat's journey to fame began with winning the reality TV show UTV Bindass DadaGiri Season 1 in 2008, which earned him widespread recognition.
After completing his schooling at Bhavan's Gandhi Vidyashram, Kodaikanal, and graduating from Delhi University, he followed his childhood dream of becoming a Bollywood actor and so relocated to Mumbai.
Shaaswat's love for acting began during his school days, where he actively participated in and conceptualized street plays, winning accolades at national college festivals. He refined his acting skills with esteemed theater groups like Nadira Babbar's Ekjute and Neeraj Kabi's Pravaah in Mumbai, and Mallika Sarabhai's Darpana Theatre in Ahmedabad, along with attending various training workshops at renowned institutions such as the National School of Drama, and Drama School of Mumbai.
He made his Bollywood acting debut with Hindi Film "Admission's Open" (2010), a project that showcased his ability to take on challenging roles. Shaaswat gained further acclaim for his critically acclaimed performance in Hindi Feature Film "Bigul" (2014) directed by Arindam Bandhopadyay and Hindi Feature film "Tipppsy" (2024), directed by Deepak Tijori. Meanwhile he did a web film for Hungama platform. His upcoming film, Mruggjal (2025), where he is the lead protagonist, has already garnered praise at international film festivals and is set to solidify his status as a force to be reckoned with in Indian cinema.
Shaaswat has also made an impact through short films like "The Slice of Life" , "One Way", "The Flying Kiss", as well as in trending romantic music albums such as "Bahaane" in Hindi and "Meerahir" in Marathi. His work in TV commercials includes memorable campaigns with Bollywood legends Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, and Abhishek Bachchan, and cricket icon MS Dhoni. Shaaswat has also worked for a number of brands and walked the ramp on several occasions prominently like Lee jeans, Fashion station, Marigold watches, K.D. Jewellers, etc.
In television, he is known for his prominent role of "Sohan Singh Bakhna" in "Swaraaj" and episodic series "Savdhaan India" where he brought to life a "compelling character" inspired by South superstar Silk Smita
