Production is underway on Legion M’s darkly comedic horror thriller Fade to Black, which sees art imitating life for an aspiring Hollywood screenwriter. Today, Legion M has announced that Betty Gabriel, Thomas Barbusca, and Annie Gonzalez have joined the cast.
The horror thriller marks the feature debut of director Andrew Sandler.
Fade to Black follows “Amit as he navigates the horrors of trying to break into the twisted business of Hollywood. The film promises a darkly comedic exploration of ambition, madness, and the brutal reality of the entertainment industry.”

Who Does Thomas Barbusca Play in Netflix's Incoming? Meet the 'Scumbag' Ruby - Main Image
Why does Thomas Barbusca from Netflix's Incoming look familiar? Benji's scumbag of a brother has surprisingly been cast in high school movies in more ways than one. Here's why the award-winning star looks familiar.
Award-Winning Actor Thomas Barbusca Kills It as Ruby on Netflix's Incoming
Thomas Barbusca has had quite the blast before coming onto Netflix as the 'worst student' in Benji's high school. If anything, Barbusca thrives in exactly that: playing the part of being a high schooler.
His first rising credit goes to being Peanuts Halloween Skit Linus in an episode from 2012's Conan before he went off to take more small roles as a kid in New Girl, Sam & Cat, and even lending his voice as Malakevin on Cartoon Network's animated show Clarence.

Netflix has just released the trailer for the new raunchy high school comedy from the Chernin brothers — Dave Chernin and John Chernin — who are veterans of irreverent shows It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia and the tragically cut-short Fox sitcom The Mick. The Chernins reunite with The Mick‘s Kaitlin Olson and Thomas Barbusca in Incoming. The cast includes Mason Thames, Ramon Reed, Raphael Alejandro, Isabella Ferreira, Bardia Seiri, Loren Gray, Ali Gallo, Scott MacArthur, Thomas Barbusca, Kim Hawthorne, Victoria Moroles, Kayvan Shai, with Kaitlin Olson and Bobby Cannavale.
The short but sweet synopsis reads,
“Incoming is the story of one night in the life of a group of high school freshmen, the party they crash, and the chaos that ensues.”
Dave and John Chernin write and direct the film. The producers on the movie include Nicholas Stoller, Conor Welch, Todd Garner, Mark Korshak, Gary Barber, Peter Oillataguerre, Peter Principato and Ben Silverman.

Missing is a thriller directed by Nicholas D. Johnson and Will Merrick staring Storm Reid.
Screenlife movies are those movies that tell stories through the computer screen, with hookups, video calls and so on. Not that it’s a new genre, nor is this one going to be the first blockbuster in the genre, but it has a good enough script to make an impact with its premise.
Movie Review
Fast-paced, lots of story and, above all, lots of editing. It is not the movie about “four friends” with no money who want to make a movie and, for budgetary reasons, choose this genre as a last resort: Missing is a movie with a dizzying pace, plot twists, surprises and a lot of sense of aesthetics (although these aesthetics may not please everyone).
It knows how to take advantage of everything at its disposal and teaches us that, with almost anything,...

Mel McKeon and Laura Myones Ruf have been working side by side so long that it’s common they finish each other’s sentences. That comes in helpful, especially now, as the veteran talent managers have a lot to talk about.
It’s been a year since the two, who started working together in 1997 with Myones starting as McKeon’s assistant, rebranded their McKeon/Myones Entertainment to Afa Prime Talent, a transition that has signaled a new era for their management-production company.
Together, they have maintained a client roster of busy actors including Yvonne Strahovski (The Handmaid’s Tale), Sarah Shahi (Black Adam, Sex/Life), Alona Tal (Cross), Shioli Kutsuna (Deadpool 2, Invasion), Vivian Wu (Afterparty, Irma Vep), Michael Trucco (Average Joe), Thomas Barbusca (The Mick, Chad), Sean Patrick Thomas (Till, For All Mankind and The Boys spinoff Gen V), Missi Pyle (Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story, Y: The Last Man), Elaine Hendrix...

Television fans were shocked earlier this year when "Saturday Night Live" alum Nasim Pedrad's "Chad" was canceled by TBS mere hours before the second season was about to premiere. This wasn't an instance where an episode or two were finished and the team was in the process of shooting the rest of the season, either. Season 2 of "Chad" was signed, sealed, and delivered, only to have their plug pulled just before airtime. A few months later, HBO Max quietly dropped the series' first season from their streaming platform, effectively yeeting "Chad" into the digital void, only to remain a distant memory. The cancellation seemed to be collateral damage in the wake of the Warner Bros. Discovery merger, which inspired some pretty drastic changes for both TBS and sibling cable channel TNT.

Nasim Pedrad’s cringe comedy series “Chad” has been saved from certain death. The series, which aired its first season on TBS, will move to the Roku Channel for Season 2, IndieWire has confirmed.
In July, TBS pulled Season 2 from its programming schedule the day it was scheduled to premiere and confirmed to several outlets that the season would not air on the network. The show, which had already wrapped production on the season, was the highest profile consequence of restructuring at the channel following the Warner Bros. Discovery merger. The merger prompted the company, under the leadership of David Zaslav, to cut original scripted programming from TBS and other networks in its portfolio.

Exclusive: Chad has found a new home.
The second season of Nasim Pedrad’s coming-of-age comedy series will run on The Roku Channel after it was scrapped as part of the cost-cutting measures at Warner Bros. Discovery cable network TBS.
As Deadline revealed, Chad was one of a number of shows and movies — completed or in various stages of pre-production or production — that were dropped after CEO David Zaslav took charge of the combined company. While the others were permanently shelved to use as corporate tax write-downs, following a plea by Pedrad to the new TBS leadership, she and her team were allowed to shop the series.
Roku, which previously acquired the Quibi library, will now exclusively carry the second season of Chad, which is completed and was initially set to premiere on TBS in April and then in July. The streamer also has picked up the non-exclusive rights to...

Chiara Aurelia’s initial reaction to reading the script for the R-rated “Luckiest Girl Alive” film adaptation of the novel by Jessica Knoll was one of terror. But that drew her even closer to the material.
“The first time that I read the script, my initial reaction was ‘Wow, this is terrifying,’ and thinking that the role was such a challenge and that it would really stretch me as a person,” she told TheWrap in a recent interview alongside co-star Mila Kunis, who plays an older version of Aurelia’s character. “That immediately gravitated me towards it. And also I think I really look for — actresses like Mila have seriously paved the way for me at my age (at which co-star Kunis chuckled) — I’m saying even in the last 10 years, it’s changed so much to where there’s so many more multi-dimensional female characters.”
For Kunis, Knoll’s writing captivated her.

Ani FaNelli lives a storybook life. She’s worked her way to the top — landing an editor position at the New York Times Magazine — and found love along the way in a trust fund baby named Luke. But the more she paved her way toward a future most people only dream of, the more dirt she tossed behind her, hoping to keep her past sufficiently buried. In the trailer for Netflix’s Luckiest Girl Alive, FaNelli (Mila Kunis) discovers that lavish weddings and glossy new jobs can only cover up so many old wounds.

The second season of Chad has been delayed yet again. The TBS comedy series had been scheduled to return on April 11th but the premiere was rescheduled without explanation. On May 5th, the cable channel announced that Chad's second season would launch today, July 11th. Somewhere along the way, those plans changed and it's now been revealed that the cable channel has dropped the show permanently.
Created by writer/executive producer and co-showrunner Nasim Pedrad, the Chad TV show also stars the Iranian-American actress in the title role. Co-stars include Ella Mika, Saba Homayoon, Paul Chahidi, Jake Ryan, Alexa Loo, Thomas Barbusca, and Sara Malal Rowe. The story follows a 14-year-old pubescent Persian boy named Chad Amani (Pedrad) as he navigates high school. His mission, like many high schoolers, is to become popular. Nasim Pedrad’s “Chad” was pulled from TBS’ programming hours before Season 2 of the comedy series was set to air on July 11, a spokesperson for the network confirmed to Variety.
According to the spokesperson, TBS is now looking for “the right home” for the series. As the news comes the day the premiere was scheduled, and a trailer has already been released, it’s clear that at least a significant portion, if not the entire season, has been shot and produced.
The pulling of “Chad” signals the continued demise of scripted content at TBS and TNT. As Variety reported exclusively in April, the Warner-owned cablers halted development of all new scripted projects as a result of the Warner Bros. Discovery merger, leaving already-popular series like “Snowpiercer” hanging in the balance. Wbd is overturning strategy for the so-called “TNets,” including truTV, in CEO David Zaslav’s efforts to cut 3 billion in costs,...

Disney/20th Century Studios dropped the latest trailer Thursday for “Ron’s Gone Wrong” (October 22 in theaters), which centers on the friendship between the titular malfunctioning robot (voiced by Zach Galifianakis) and socially awkward middle-schooler Barney (voiced by Jack Dylan Graze). It marks the first animated feature from UK-based Locksmith Animation, directed by co-founder Sarah Smith (“Arthur Christmas”) and former Pixar story artist Jean-Philippe Vine (“Cars 3”). Peter Baynham (the “Borat” movies and “Arthur Christmas”) and Smith co-wrote the script with an emphasis on tech frustration and unhealthy dependence on social media.
“Coco” story artist Octavio Rodriguez served as co-director, Julie Lockhart (co-founder and president of Locksmith) produced with Lara Breay (“Penguins of Madagascar”), VFX studio Dneg (“Dune”) made its first animated feature, and the voice cast also includes Olivia Colman (“The Crown”), Ed Helms (“The Office”), Justice Smith (“Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom”), Rob Delaney (“Deadpool 2“), Kylie Cantrall (“Gabby Duran...

20th Century Studios just dropped the trailer for its new animated feature “Ron’s Gone Wrong,” and you might think at first you’re watching a preroll advertisement.
That’s because the trailer opens with a commercial for B*Bot, a digital sidekick that can seemingly do anything. Young Barney (voiced by Jack Dylan Grazer) is thrilled when he thinks he gets a B*Bot as a belated birthday gift. But he ends up with a faulty version named Ron.
Ron is voiced by Zach Galifianakis and looks like a cross between Baymax from “Big Hero 6” and a Minion from “Despicable Me.” He’s anything but despicable though; his flaws — including a glitchy display and occasional strangling of chickens (you have to watch) — make him utterly adorable.

Watching 14-year-old Chad (Nasim Pedrad) try so hard to be cool that he devolves into a sputtering mess can be, to say the least, awkward. Anyone who’s lived through puberty knows the pain of wanting to be “normal” at the same time everything feels anything but. “Chad” picks up with its title character — who changed his name to something more American friendly from his Persian birth name of Fereydoon — on his first fraught day of high school. As played by “Saturday Night Live” alum Pedrad, Chad is the living embodiment of that adolescent desperation. And yet, for all the teen shows we’ve had over the years, who has no idea how to stay still or be chill despite his very best efforts.
Pedrad, who acts as creator, star, executive producer and showrunner, first wrote the pilot for “Chad” in 2015, with versions of the show traveling from network to...
