Match #1: Jailhouse Street Fight – Tony D’Angelo def. Dijak The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
With The Underboss Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo by his side, Tony D’Angelo was the one who delivered hard justice to Dijak in a brutal Jailhouse Street Fight. The action was fast and furious with Dijak gaining the quick upper hand thanks to a High Justice chokeslam onto a chair, but his momentum was short lived when D’Angelo countered a moonsault into a back suplex onto several more chairs. The two men continued to wage war on one another and their attacks on the outside culminated in a massive top rope elbow...

Match #1: Ilja Dragunov def. Trick Williams The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
The Mad Dragon returned to the ring in grand fashion as he took it right to one of the most athletic Superstars in Nxt, Trick Williams. Williams came out incredibly confident landing a few early strikes, but Dragunov responded in kind with his aggressive style. The two Superstars continued to thrash each other with clubbing blows, but a top rope attempt from Dragunov went awry as Williams knocked him to the outside. Jd McDonagh appeared at ringside and joined the commentary team, seemingly trying to intimidate The Mad Dragon, but it was to no avail as Dragunov rallied, set a dazed Williams up in the corner, and nailed Torpedo Moscow to secure the win.

Match #1: Indus Sher def. The Creed Brothers The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
The monstrous pair of Indus Sher is now even more powerful with the Modern Day Maharaja at their side and their matchup with The Creed Brothers proved it. Julius couldn’t get anything going as the immensely powerful Indus Sher threw him around the ring with ease. But the Creeds wouldn’t go away quietly as Brutus mounted a comeback on behalf of his team, but a distraction by Jinder Mahal caused Julius to become distracted and accidentally knock Ivy Nile off the apron. Match #1: Dijak def. Tony D’Angelo The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
The Don of Nxt Tony D’Angelo and Dijak delivered a brutal and hard-hitting affair in their matchup. The Superstars fought inside and outside the ring, with Dijak at one point tossing D’Angelo into Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo, only for The Don to pop right up and hit a crushing spear. Dijak later managed to handcuff Lorenzo to the ring post, neutralizing him as a threat, but his High Justice chokeslam wasn’t enough for the win. Lorenzo wanted to sacrifice himself for D’Angelo, but The Don refused his efforts and took a big boot to the face that gave Dijak the win.

Bray Wyatt has yet to wrestle on WWE TV since returning, but he has been working house shows and reportedly picked up an injury while working with Jinder Mahal recently. The Eater of Worlds returned to the company at Extreme Rules on October 8, and his program with Uncle Howdy and LA Knight has been moving at a glacial pace. Bray Wyatt Vs. However, LA Knight is the only match confirmed for the upcoming Royal Rumble premium live event. That's a highly anticipated bout—one sponsored by Mountain Dew, no less—so reports about him picking up an injury while working on WWE's Holiday Tour are concerning.
In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer wrote the following about Bray Wyatt: "Wyatt suffered a broken finger on his left hand in his 12/29 match with Mahal in Miami. He will likely be working through the injury as talent...

Match #1: Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship – The Usos def. The New Day The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
With history on the line, The New Day were hoping to keep hold of their record run as tag team champions, and they brought everything they had to the titleholders. The Usos isolated Kofi Kingston from Xavier Woods, not allowing Kingston to tag him in. When Kingston eventually tagged in Woods, the former King of the Ring was a house on fire, almost capturing the titles after a flurry of offense. A huge top-rope leg drop from Woods nearly sealed the deal, but Jimmy kicked out at 2.9 repeating. The Usos had a heart-pounding moment of their own, as Woods kicked out of a massive Double Uso Splash.

Braun Strowman isn't a fan of "flippy" wrestling, and he once again made that stance clear on Twitter following WWE's recent Crown Jewel premium live event. Those comments have reportedly landed him in some hot water backstage, as he apparently has heat for his online antics. The 6-foot-8, 344-pound Monster Of All Monsters squared off against Omos, who is 7-foot-3 and weighs north of 400 pounds. It was a true clash of the titans, and the match was about as good as it could have been, considering the in-ring imitations of both men.
After Crown Jewel, Strowman took to Twitter to sarcastically give the match a 47-star rating while also writing that "no one cares about all these floppy floppers." Several wrestlers responded to the 39-year-old on the platform, while others backstage are also displeased, according to Fightful Select. "The heat on Braun Strowman is very real," according to their post on Patreon.

Nakamura regained the upper hand until Gunther got involved, striking Nakamura while the referee’s back was turned, which gave Kaiser the chance to snatch the victory. After the match, Kaiser was...

Jinder Mahal is the new WWE Champion. Yuvraj Singh Dhesi’s “SmackDown Live” character is also an angry, brown-skinned guy in a turban screaming unkind things at Americans — and the very same stateside fans are eating it all up. The anti-American foreigner that kinda-sorta looks like what some of this country (yes, irrationally) fears at the moment is a pretty classic pro-wrestling villain, one that hasn’t been around much lately. Dhesi, a Canadian Sikh of Indian descent, is happy to be the guy generating all of the heat. After all, the WWE’s top heel role was there for the taking.

The WWE is in the midst of realizing that women can bring just as much to the table, if not more, than men in the world of professional wrestling. With stars like Charlotte Flair, Bayley, Sasha Banks, Becky Lynch, and others, they have collected a roster of women that can perform in the ring and demand the audience attention in much the same way the men do.
With that said, the WWE is always on the lookout for talent. One such talent they've signed to the Nxt roster is Io Shirai. You can forgive most American wrestling fans if they don't recognize the name. Her claim to fame has been in Japan with the Stardom wrestling organization.
But that doesn't mean American audiences haven't seen her. Lucha Underground gave Io Shirai her American introduction on a Season 3 episode of Lucha Underground. Facing off against Pentagon Dark, she went on to have an amazing match.

Nxt: Takeover: Chicago will air this Saturday on the WWE Network for the first time outside of their quarterly, big four schedule. (The big four I reference of course being the WWE events Royal Rumble, Wrestlemania, Summerslam, and Survivor Series.) Taking place at the Allstate Arena in Chicago, Illinois, the show features the best and brightest of the WWE Nxt brand. Since the Nxt brand has consistently put on some of the best shows of the year for the WWE, I thought we'd take a few minutes to go through the card for the show while I offer some predictions on who may win.

It’s time once more for Wrestlemania the biggest professional wrestling and sports entertainment event for fans and performers that there is. This year the event is held in Orlando, the home of Nxt – where a lot of the current roster of superstars got their start -and as usual (at least on paper) the card doesn’t seem that great. But that’s the thing with the WWE’s biggest pay per view, there’s always surprises: especially when it comes to Wrestlemania moments…. So with that lets get into Wrestlemania 33 – starting with the usual 2-hour kick off pre-show, which this year features the Crusiserweight Championship match the the now-annual Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royale.
Wrestlemania 33 Kick-Off Show Cruiserweight Championship Match: Austin Aries vs Neville
Aries has the upper hand early in the match, hitting a spinning elbow on Neville off the middle rope, sending him to the outside.

Well the road to Wrestlemania continues for the WWE with the Raw-exclusive pay-per-view Fastlane, one of the companies lesser PPV’s… For most fans this is just the WWE spinning it’s wheels while waiting for the biggest event in the wrestling calendar.
Taking place at the Bmo Harris Bradley Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Fastlane opens with a video package showing all the big matches: Owens vs Goldberg, Bayley vs Charlotte, and Reigns vs Strowman. So we know right there that the only titles possibly changing hands in this event will be either the Womens Title or Universal Championship – Gallows and Anderson surely to retain given the non-focus on their match.
As always Spoilers if you haven’t seen the PPV yet…
Opening Fastlane is Samoa Joe vs Sami Zayn in a match that is sure to Not live up to the fantastic Nxt rivalry the pair had prior to their subsequent call-ups.

WWE has a long standing tradition of not shaking things up too much right before Wrestlemania. With Smackdowns pay-per-view Elimination Chamber done two weeks ago the biggest change in that show was Cena losing the title to Bray Wyatt. Raw's final exclusive pay-per-view played out like everyone thought it would with only one title changing hands. When Stephanie McMahon and Triple H don't bother to show up on camera and leave Mick Foley in charge it shows that even the head brass didn't want to shake things up. Now for the next 29 days everything will be set for Wrestlemania with only a couple questions still to address.

WWE appeared to form the 2016 version of The Job Squad on last night’s Raw. Heath Slater fronted a new faction called “Social Outcasts” along with Curtis Axel, Bo Dallas and Adam Rose.
The Showoff and Slater faced off in a singles match, but instead of appearing alone – which Heath has done since 3Mb members Drew McIntyre and Jinder Mahal were fired in 2014 – The One Man Band was accompanied by Messrs Axel, Rose and Dallas with no explanation.
However, if you look at each of the Superstar’s social media accounts, you’ll notice that they were all tweeting about ‘change’ in the build up to Raw – hinting that a new faction could be on the horizon.

WWE appeared to form the 2016 version of The Job Squad on last night’s Raw. Heath Slater fronted a new faction called “Social Outcasts” along with Curtis Axel, Bo Dallas and Adam Rose.

They say to be a successful superstar, your gimmick needs to be an extension of your own personality. You only need to look at 3Mb as a recent example where that blatantly wasn’t the case. The gimmick was ready made for Heath Slater, you can tell he is kind of a ‘goof’ in real life and plays the role of a deluded rocker well.
For Drew McIntyre and Jinder Mahal however, it was painfully obvious they were having to try too hard to become rockers of Slater’s standing.
The pair had pretty well established gimmicks before the band got together. McIntyre was labelled as ‘The Chosen one’ by Vince McMahon of all people and had a long reign as the Intercontinental Champion, headlining SmackDown with the likes of The Undertaker. Mahal, came into the WWE as The Great Khali’s ‘brother’ and was making little, but progressive waves as a heel.

Aside from WrestleMania, one of the most anticipated events of the year for wrestling fans is the release of the latest WWE video game. Thq and now 2K Sports have done a tremendous job over the years of updating and adjusting the game play, adding new content and, of course, refreshing the roster. However, there are only so many Superstars spots that can be filled. Not every active competitor can make the cut, as a handful of spots are also occupied by WWE Legends, Hall of Famers and other alumni.
It’s become a tradition over the years to reveal the roster over SummerSlam weekend and this year was no exception. A part of a star-studded panel featuring the likes of John Cena, Hulk Hogan and Sting among others, hosts Stone Cold Steve Austin and Renee Young ran down the list of the Superstars that will be included in WWE...

After years of working as a lower-card comedy act as a member of 3Mb, it appears as if Heath Slater is getting a push– to mid-card comedy act.
Following the release of 3Mb teammates Jinder Mahal and Drew McIntyre, Slater seemed to be left without a direction and was getting the majority of his WWE screen time as a part of the “Jbl & Cole Show” on Youtube.
At WWE Battleground, Slater participated in the Intercontinental Title battle royal, where he shocked fans by eliminating Cesaro, who was a favorite by many to actually win the match. Slater’s good fortunes continued when he was paired with former Prime Time Player Titus O’Neil in a tag team in which Slater called “Slater Gator,” referring to O’Neil’s Florida ties.

It’s been another newsworthy week in WWE because we found out that Daniel Bryan won’t be cleared to wrestle this month, so he’s been stripped of the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. It was also a week of bad news for 11 employees that were released on Thursday. It seems like there’s always something going on in WWE even if it is a quiet time in the schedule.
The Bryan news is a shame, but there’s nothing else WWE could have done about it. He had surgery a month ago, they tried to wait it out to see when he could recover and they’re not sure about when he can come back now. They had to strip him. The WWE locker room and insiders are starting to react to the shocking WWE talent cull which took place on what is being termed ‘Black Thursday’.
In all 11 people got released from their WWE contract – Jtg, Drew McIntyre, Jinder Mahal, Aksana, Curt Hawkins, Teddy Long, Camacho, Brodus Clay, Evan Bourne, Yoshi Tatsu and referee Marc Harris.
PWinsider has revealed details behind several of these releases. Regarding the Tatsu exit it is being said that there was an internal feeling for some time that the Japanese star had regressed in the ring.
As far as Brodus Clay goes, he had reportedly “fell out of favour” with the creative team. Clay had always put his best foot forward with his ‘Funkasaurous’ work, but clearly from media interviews he felt he should have been pushed more as a serious monster. He has previously noted that Mark Henry’s ‘Hall of Pain...

You can add Jtg to the list of superstars officially released by the WWE today.
The former member of Cryme Tyme had been with the WWE for the best part of eight years but the countdown clock has finally stopped ticking. This website, setup in jest because no matter how worthless Jtg had proven to be with the company and how little he was ever used (some modern fans may not even know who he is), counted his miraculous stay with the company and had been up-and-running for a few years now, but it crashed just moments after his release was made public.
The superstar tweeted about his release;
Damn ! Why I pick up my phone !
— Jtg (@Jtg1284) June 12, 2014
Vince McMahon and his officials undertook their “Spring Cleaning” by relieving 11 names from their contracts today. It’s unknown whether any more are due.
Here is the updated list...

WWE.com have revealed that no less than Nine significant talent have today been released and no longer work for the company.
Those names;
Theodore Long, Evan Bourne, Drew McIntyre, Brodus Clay, Curt Hawkins, Yoshi Tatsu, Aksana, Jinder Mahal and Camacho.
When WWE did their original post today there were only five names on it. They then added four more to it twenty minutes later and it now appears that they have settled on nine names plus a referee. Unless more names are to be announced, that’s the end of a massive day of talent cutting that we haven’t seen the WWE inact on in a while.
Here’s more details of those superstars cut.
9. Teddy Long

Teddy Long is 66 years old and spent most of his time as the Gm of Smackdown where he was known for making a lot of tag matches.

Last night’s edition of Raw was the second last episode of WWE’s flagship show prior to WrestleMania 30 on April 6 in New Orleans. It was held in Brooklyn, New York in front of a boisterous crowd that reacted well to most of the action. There were times when they veered off in another direction with “Cm Punk” chants, but for the most part they cared about what they saw in the ring even without Daniel Bryan in action.
For weeks we’ve been updating you with the lineup for WrestleMania. Several matches were made official following Elimination Chamber while others have slowly taken shape based on recent actions from Raw and Smackdown. Here’s a look at the eight matches that are expected to be a part of the full WrestleMania card.

With just two more weeks of WWE television to go before WrestleMania, it appears as though we may finally know the full lineup.
In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported about the eight matches that WWE has planned for the four hour show taking place on April 6th in New Orleans. Here’s a listing of the matches that have been made official as well as those that will be official in the coming weeks.
Triple H vs. Daniel Bryan – This will likely take place in the first hour because the winner of this match will wrestle in the main event match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Randy Orton and Batista. This stipulation was added on Monday’s Raw when Triple H said he’s going for it all after he beats Daniel Bryan. It would be a shock if Bryan didn’t win this match.

This past Monday’s edition of Raw saw Hulk Hogan announce the Andre the Giant memorable battle royal that will see 30 men compete to win a trophy that has Andre’s image on it. Currently on WWE.com it lists Ryback, Big E and Curtis Axel as the first three competitors in the match. Two more superstars have been added to the match in the last couple of days.
At Tuesday’s Smackdown tapings, Dolph Ziggler entered himself into the battle royal also. He’s somebody that has a lot of talent, but has no current direction and his TV time has been very inconsistent in the past several months. Perhaps a good showing in the battle royal could be the spark that Ziggler needs to become a top guy again. It would be a welcome sight to...

Welcome to this week’s Raw write-up.
Tonight’s show opens with John Cena’s music playing and him making his way to the ring to his usual reaction, the kids cheer, the rest of the fans boo. We see a replay of Cena pinning Orton in the main event of last week’s Raw. Cena poses for the fans before speaking. He talks about the upcoming Elimination Chamber PPV next Sunday. It’s the usual “shout and whisper” Cena promo to which most fans scold with boo’s. Cena says that he has headlined WrestleMania many times and plans to headline, against Batista, again this year. He insults Randy Orton but gets booed for it. Cena mentions Bryan, and the fans chant yet. I guess he has to get a pop somehow. Cena predicts that there will be a new WWE World Champion after the Elimination Chamber match on Sunday.

Sorry for the lack of write-up last week, but here we are for a new results and review of this weeks’ episode of WWE Raw.
Last week’s event was held in the UK and Cena was attacked by Del Rio, Big Show attacked WWE Champion Randy Orton and slammed him through an announce table and the show ended with The Shield, The Wyatt Family, The Uso’s, Daniel Bryan and Cm Punk brawling in the ring.
Tonight’s Raw is being billed as WWE Raw Country, a themed Raw based on the fact that tonight’s show is being held in Nashville, Tennessee. Florida Georgia Line, a country band, will be playing live later apparently.
The show begins with Triple H’s music playing and The Game walking to the ring with his wifey, Stephanie McMahon. The two have smiles etched on their faces. Triple H talks about how...

For the third pay-per-view in a row, WWE had a lot to answer for coming out of Miami. Sure, they gave some definitive endings but they weren’t exactly heavenly when they came to logic. Shawn Michaels was once again thrust into controversy as the special guest referee crowning a new WWE champion and Randy Orton, Cm Punk gets his hands on Paul Heyman and crew and John Cena return miraculously after two months and became the World Heavyweight Championship holder for the third time. But in the end was that enough to make Satan’s structure interesting again? Or was Raw, much like the pay-per-view in forgetting the devil is all in the details again.
The show opens with John Cena coming out to the live crowd in Orlando very hyped up. The new champion says that he had his doubters pointing out Jbl at ringside. But Cena goes...

When the Main Event was relaunched last year, reports were that Ion Television , specifically said they didn’t want it to become another Superstars. Apparently one year later, that plan has gone we have to wonder if the Wednesday night program will go the way of the dodo? Remember when they would build matches on Main Event with video packages having one featured contest? Now, it just seems like another show. If you need any illustration that this happened, check out this week’s episode from Columbus, Ohio.
We begin the night with Josh Matthews and Alex Riley at the announce desk. Riley’s arm is in a sling apparently after having shoulder surgery. I guess the Miz isn’t coming back anytime soon.

WWE and 2K Games have finally made the long-awaited roster announcement for their upcoming WWE 2K14 video game, boasting a surprisingly beefy line-up of over 80 superstars. In addition to the 30 Years of WrestleMania roster already announced, we were given a full list of the WWE Superstars and Divas who would be filling out 2K Games’ first time publishing a wrestling game (albeit still with the same developers as before, Yukes).
It’s safe to say that, as in every year, there are a few notable omissions from the roster – Curtis Axel, Rob Van Dam, Big E. Langston, The Usos, Fandango, and the Wyatt Family are conspicuously absent, while the likes of David Otunga somehow make the cut… – yet we can keep our fingers crossed that they might show up in Dlc somewhere down the line (though developers have already stated on Twitter that the Wyatts will 100% not be Dlc, because...

Just a few days away from Detroit and the Night of Champions, WWE made quite the stop on the Main Event and Nxt. Was it the gold standard for the company or did they come up a little short? Let’s talk about that. We’re going to switch things up this week, beginning with Nxt.
Nxt begins with the Certified Gees Colin Cassidy and Enzo Amore coming out to a loud reaction. Enzo talks about his recent problems with Sylvester LeFort’s new legionnaire Alexander Rusev and Scott Dawson. LeFort comes out and insults the Italian imitators with his charges Capt. Roughneck Scott Dawson and the Hungarian warrior Alexander Rusev. The tag match itself was awkward as the two teams really didn’t gel well. Heel versus heel really doesn’t work all that well. The crowd was definitely behind Certified Gees of Amore and Cassidy. There was definitely...

Over the last few weeks, I’ve been really critical of the corporate storyline in the WWE. Why? Put quite simply there wasn’t enough balance. While it’s great that the corporate regime has looked strong, the good guys have looked rather neutered in what they’ve been able to accomplish. I know that comes with giving the heel faction credibility, but when the leader is the corporate head of the company that just came off to me as overkill. Luckily, the scale seemed a little more even this week as it set up more of an even playing field. Let’s not get too ahead of myself.
The show opens with Triple Hi introducing the face of the company Randy Orton who says that protecting the image of WWE is his number one priority concert (insert wellness policy violation joke here). Randy says he doesn’t want anyone...

WWE Monday Night Raw opens tonight with Hhh standing in the middle of the ring in his suit and tie. Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns and Seth Rolling are standing beside the ring with their championship belts draped over their shoulders. We’re live.
Hhh introduces the “Face of WWE”, Randy Orton, who hits the ring to pretty decent heat from the crowd before grabbing the microphone and talking about how Daniel Bryan is nothing more than a “B+ player”. Hhh tells the crowd that Daniel Bryan is similar to what Doink The Clown was and that Doink was never champion because it would have been bad for business, the same as if Bryan were to win the WWE title. Bryan’s music plays while the new corporation continue to insult the former American Dragon, the fans pop loud for Bryan who stands on the stage in his ring gear and...

This week’s edition of WWE Nxt comes to us from Providence, Rhode Island. Josh Matthews and the Miz welcome the audience on commentary as action begins with Christian versus Fandango. Now when you first hear those two are paired together, you would think the match was subpar . Far from the case, the former Johnny Curtis really brought it. Fandango seems to be on a roll when it comes to strong matches.
(And it should be mentioned that Summer Rae is awesome in her role. From her reactions to her mannerisms on the outside. She is so great and will probably go unappreciated by most fans. But she is awesome at what she does. She really adds a lot to the overall presentation of Fandango.)
Christian gets the victory with a surprise roll up. I’m sure Captain Charisma would’ve smiled more if he didn’t need a root...

Over the last few weeks, Raw has been very entertaining to say the least. With the rise of Daniel Bryan, the disintegration of the Punk- Heyman relationship and Kaitlyn and Aj battling it out, the show has felt more vibrant. However, even with all those elements still in play the show felt a little lackluster then in previous weeks.
The show begins not with a recap of last week as has been customary for the last few months, but with a cold open with Vickie Guerrero. The managing supervisor announces the champion versus champion main event with Alberto del Rio and John Cena.
This would lead to a showcase of great WWE and World Champions of their perspective eras. I like the pomp and circumstance of it all, but I think more often than not, regardless of how you hype the match it just doesn’t matter like used to.
